Soraya's POV
By the time Jenny and I finally made it home—with Liam's ice cream already melting—Ma Cecilia and Pa James were sitting in the living room, waiting.
Liam rushed toward me with an angry little frown.
"You took too long, Mama!"
I knelt and held out the cup. "I know, sweetheart. I'm sorry. Look what we brought you."
His eyes lit up instantly, anger forgotten. "Ice cream!"
And just like that, I was forgiven.
Before I could even remove my shoes, Jenny launched into the entire story—every detail, every expression, even the part where she insisted the prince admired me. Pa James nodded proudly. Ma Cecilia's eyes widened in excitement.
"He was looking at her?" Pa James asked Jenny.
"Like this," Jenny said, demonstrating an exaggerated dreamy stare.
They all burst into laughter, warmth filling the room.
