'When did you become the leader?' Envy complained.
'Since when I became the strongest,' he replied.
'And why do you believe you're the strongest? I can't let that slide.'
'I know I am the strongest,' Pride boasted as he crossed his legs on top of the table.
'Then we just have to find out who is,' Wrath concluded as he got up to fight Pride.
'Love will regain all her memories by tomorrow,' Greed interfered, giving the bad news.
They became silent and withdrew from fighting.
'I'll handle Lust. The rest of you find something to do,' Greed concluded selfishly.
'We cannot let our progress be squandered so soon. It will taunt my pride—no shame shall follow me,' Pride added as he walked to his seat.
'Alright then, let Greed do what he wants. Pride and Wrath should check on Love. Envy and I will search for Sloth,' Gluttony proposed.
Everyone dispersed, leaving Greed in the hall.
'So where are you guys off to?' I asked.
'To bring in Lust and Sloth. You must have been watching since our last contact with them.'
'Are you the same Greed I met last month? The girl named… um?' I tried to recall her name.
Greed walked closer to my statue. 'That's bad. We can't let you forget anything before your awakening… especially not from me.'
He placed his hands on the statue, and an orange light glowed.
'Do you know her name now?' he asked with a cold expression.
'Yeah, her name is Reya.' I suddenly remembered everything. 'Was that person you?'
'Of course, it's me. I told you I'd be your psyche.'
'I know you have a lot of questions, but firstly—why did you forget? Your memories aren't limited anymore. You should be able to keep memories now. I can't rest until I have my answers, but in this case I'm more curious to hear your thoughts and questions. Those seem more interesting and important right now.'
I became anxious. 'Firstly, are you guys pure emotions?'
'Yes, we are. But in your psyche environment we do exhibit other emotions than ours and our supplementary creations. Only in your psyche environment—you could put it as, we have unlocked our intelligence as psyches right now. Thanks to you,' Greed said.
'Am I the only one who this has happened to before?'
'You're the first one, but not in this generation. Someone else has, other than you, although he's a lost cause—quite useless to us now.'
'Why were you worried in the battle against Obsession?'
'I was worried, huh?' He bowed his head slightly in frustration. 'Good observation there,' he complimented me.
'I became worried because I know his abilities, and he was unbeatable. Anxiety is a result of doubt, and doubt is an uncertainty caused by life. Life is fate, and Fate is God, and we do not know what God is thinking, how he operates, and what he has installed for us as the people of Earth. That's why he's our greatest enemy. Everything we do is to defeat him and overthrow him.' Greed was being serious. His eyes were overwhelmed with excitement.
'So, in other words, psyches like Obsession, Anxiety are neutral psyches that all psyches can display. Even pure psyches can feel any neutral psyche—Love, Pleasure, Joy, Mood, Fear, Anxiety. Even the Seven Virtues feel it.'
'The Seven Virtues? What's that?' I became curious.
'The Seven Virtues of man are our polar opposites, created by Fate to keep us in check. They also use neutral psyches. They are supposedly stronger than neutral psyches… in some circumstances. That's all for now. I'll be off.'
'One more question… why am I trapped in here?'
Greed turned around and smiled.
'There's no need to state the obvious,' he said and disappeared.
Gluttony and Envy took human form to look for Sloth. They warped through space with the help of Gluttony's ability and arrived at their destination—a rainforest. The forest was lush green, cool, and calm, and birds chirped cheerfully on tall giant trees.
They walked toward a small cabin in the heart of the forest. The cabin was badly built, and quite a few animals were around it. Envy walked closer to the cabin and stood at the entrance door.
'So this is how you're living your life?' Envy yelled and shattered the door to pieces with her fist. The door disintegrated to dust.
Inside the cabin was Sloth, sleeping on the belly of a large grizzly bear, undisturbed by the loud bang. Envy got pissed and walked toward the carefree little boy. She grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and lifted him up.
'Wake the fuck up, you lazy bastard!' Envy yelled out loud.
The bears woke up, scared of Envy. Sloth opened his eyes halfway; he was half awake.
'Oh, I'm floating,' he said in a lazy tone.
Sloth had the stature of a little kid, around the ages of 8–10. He had dead, sleepy eyes and dirty green-colored hair.
'It's you!? How unfortunate. I'm sure you're here to bring me in? Since it's you, I won't be coming. It sounds like stress, and I don't like you.'
'The hell you mean "stress"? I also don't like you, so let's get going.'
'No, I don't want to. I like it here. If you want someone like me, you can take Flaykes.' He pointed at one of the bears.
'You can take her, she's lazier and enough for the job.'
'No! I can't follow her—she will kill me,' Flaykes muttered in fear.
'So you heard! That fat bear will be dead soon. You shouldn't have mentioned her name in the first place. Now I'll kill her for using her to insult me!'
'I won't let you do that. Now let go of me!' Sloth ordered.
'I will not.' Envy then morphed into a tall, muscled woman. 'You're coming with me.'
'Gluttony, make an exit—we're taking him by force!' Envy grabbed Sloth and hung him on her shoulders.
'This is so unfortunate,' Sloth said slowly. Suddenly, Envy started to age very quickly at the place which had contact with Sloth. She quickly threw him away, and Sloth landed on the floor.
'Gluttony! Quickly warp him to the psyche environment!' Envy yelled.
