Chapter 32 - 32: Ye Yin invites everyone to eat canned food

"Yin Ge, you need to explain this to me right now," Dai Mubai demanded, his voice thick with resentment. "I gave you so many hints just now, so why did you still do something like that? You made me incredibly embarrassed! You have to give me a reasonable explanation, or else, even if it's the last thing I do, I'll make sure you don't have an easy time either!"

Ye Yin had already prepared his response. "Mubai, what are you talking about? Embarrassed? How were you embarrassed? If you ask me, you earned a lot of face today, especially in front of Ma Hongjun."

Dai Mubai was completely baffled. I earned face?

"You gave me that look and said those words," Ye Yin continued smoothly. "Weren't you just trying to tell me that your taste is extraordinary and that Ma Hongjun can't possibly compare to you? And don't you think I proved how awesome you are? I proved it from every angle! Beautiful twins! That completely crushes Ma Hongjun's top courtesan, doesn't it?"

Hearing this, Dai Mubai was momentarily speechless. He even began to doubt his own memory. After Ye Yin's twisted explanation, it almost seemed to make a strange kind of sense. He hadn't explicitly said he wanted to impress Zhu Zhuqing, and Ye Yin didn't know about their history. His main rivalry had always been with Ma Hongjun when it came to women. But did he really need to show off in front of his junior? Dai Mubai wished he could slap himself. He should have been clearer from the start.

"I'm sorry," he mumbled, feeling defeated. "Ye Yin, I misunderstood you."

Ye Yin pouted slightly. "So when you need my help, it's 'Yin Ge,' but when you're mad at me, it's just 'Ye Yin.' Sigh…"

[Resentment from Dai Mubai +20!]

The second day of classes at Shrek Academy was about to begin. Everyone was in high spirits, and the morning passed without any major incidents, much like the day before. Today's class was once again taught by Dean Flender.

Ye Yin and the other seven students waited in the field for a full fifteen minutes before the Dean finally strolled over at a leisurely pace. Flender's eyes immediately landed on Ning Rongrong. He still needed to find a way to deal with her attitude, and today's adaptability training was his chosen method. If she couldn't adapt, he was more than ready to give her a harsh scolding.

"Today is the second class," he announced. "Where's Oscar? Is he sleeping in again?"

"When I came out this morning, he was still cultivating," Tang San quickly explained. "Perhaps he entered a deep state of meditation and couldn't wake up in time."

Flender frowned. "This class cannot proceed without him. Tang San, go and get him."

Just as Tang San was about to head back to the dorms, Oscar came rushing over, but there was no panic on his face. Instead, he looked ecstatic.

"Oscar, are you trying to earn yourself more laps?" Dean Flender glared at him.

Oscar quickly shook his head. "No, Dean, please, listen to my explanation! I've broken through! I've reached rank 30!"

Instantly, everyone present was stunned. Flender's eyes lit up with genuine delight.

"Good, good, good!" he said, beaming. "Oscar, you haven't disappointed me. You are the second student among the current group to reach rank 30. On behalf of the Academy, I congratulate you. Alright, today's class will now begin. It's a very simple one, and Oscar, you're the protagonist today."

He paused for dramatic effect. "Today's lesson is that, besides Oscar, each of you must eat at least one of the two sausages he creates with his spirit power."

"What?" Xiao Wu exclaimed as soon as the words left Flender's mouth. "Dean, what kind of class is this?"

"This is called adaptability training," Flender said grandly. "For the sake of survival, things like pride must be thrown away!"

"Dean, I have a question," Ye Yin suddenly spoke up.

Flender looked at Ye Yin and frowned, subconsciously thinking he was trying to find an excuse to get out of it. "For survival, you must resort to any means necessary. Let alone eating a sausage, when your life is on the line, you must be willing to eat rats, cockroaches, and even earthworms! This is a class that every single one of you must complete. Otherwise, there's no need for you to stay at Shrek."

Ye Yin nodded repeatedly in agreement. "Dean, I'm not unwilling to complete the class. I just feel this lesson is a bit too simple. It should be made more difficult. Not only that, but I also think all the teachers in the Academy should regularly undergo adaptability training as well."

Flender was confused, not quite understanding what Ye Yin was getting at. "Too simple? Do you have a better idea?"

Though they didn't fully grasp Ye Yin's plan, Dai Mubai, Tang San, and Ma Hongjun subconsciously shivered. What kind of twisted idea could this guy possibly have now?

Ye Yin nodded enthusiastically and took out more than a dozen cans from his storage spirit tool.

"This?" Flender was puzzled. "Cans? This is your 'better idea'? How can eating a can count as adaptability training? Isn't this just a reward?"

Ma Hongjun, Dai Mubai, and Tang San immediately started nodding.

"Dean, I think this is great adaptability training!" Ma Hongjun chimed in. "Let's use this for the training. Since Ye Yin dared to bring these out, he must have a deeper meaning behind it." The other two boys quickly chattered in agreement.

The girls also agreed eagerly. None of them wanted to eat Oscar's Big Recovery Sausage and Small Detoxifying Sausage. For the first time, they genuinely felt that Ye Yin had done something good. It was just a can. How bad could it possibly taste? Even the worst-tasting can had to be better than eating one of Oscar's sausages.

Flender snorted at their hopeful faces. "You wish. If this adaptability training is deemed qualified, then you won't have to eat Oscar's sausages. But if it's not, you'll still have to eat them."

In truth, Flender himself wanted to eat the cans. He hadn't had one in a long time and was starting to crave it. Qualified? How could eating a can possibly be a qualified test? he thought to himself. It was a perfect excuse to eat a can first and then make them eat the sausages anyway. He was surprised Ye Yin was being so generous.

"Wait here," Flender announced. "I'll go call the other teachers to come taste… I mean, to undergo adaptability training together."

He hurried off and quickly found Zhao Wuji, who was still sleeping. "Come on, let's go do some adaptability training."

Zhao Wuji was confused. "Adaptability training? Why would I need to do that?"

"Ye Yin brought out some cans and said it's for all the teachers to undergo adaptability training together."

Zhao Wuji's eyes lit up. "Cans! Good! I like this kind of adaptability training! It's rare for that kid to be so filial. Go on, hurry up and call the other three teachers!"
