"Yin Ge, no way!" Zhu Zhuqing shook her head repeatedly, her voice full of refusal. "No, absolutely not. This won't do, it really won't!"
However, Ye Yin had no intention of letting such a hard-won opportunity slip away. He had no idea when an enhancement like this would appear again.
Zhu Zhuqing looked just as she had when she first entered the room. She quickly pushed herself out of Ye Yin's embrace and stumbled toward the dormitory door. Fumbling with the lock, she finally managed to turn it and prepared to make her escape.
Just as she pulled the door open, creating a gap barely a millimeter wide, an extremely terrifying voice echoed from the hallway.
"What are you all doing?"
"I'm treating you to white radishes."
"Hiss!" Zhu Zhuqing gasped in shock. Without a second of hesitation, she slammed the door shut and locked it again. She leaned her back against the cool wood, panting heavily as her heart pounded in her chest.
"Whew… whew… you scared me to death!"
As soon as she caught her breath, Zhu Zhuqing turned around and saw Ye Yin walking steadily toward her. A nervous look crossed her face.
"Yin Ge… can I ask you for a favor?"
"Of course," he replied instantly. "I'll agree to anything you ask."
"I just want to rest today," she pleaded.
"That won't do," he said, a playful smile on his face.
Ye Yin stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her. His hands moved to the seams of her tight, black leather suit. With gentle pulls, the fabric began to peel away, slowly revealing the smooth, milky skin underneath, like a lychee being carefully unwrapped.
His hands glided over her skin, which was incredibly delicate and soft to the touch. As his fingers occasionally brushed against the peaks of her chest, a shiver ran through her entire body. Ye Yin playfully pressed down on the soft mounds, only for them to spring back to their original shape. He found the process amusing and repeated it a few times.
Suddenly, Ye Yin's first Spirit Ring lit up, and a soft white light descended from above.
"First Spirit Ability: Blessing!"
The light from his ability fell upon Zhu Zhuqing. However, the main effect of the Spirit Ability wasn't his goal; the side effect was.
Her eyes shot wide open, and she bit down hard on her lip. A moment later, her body went completely limp, and she collapsed weakly into Ye Yin's arms. Her legs trembled uncontrollably as she bit her lip and wrapped her arms tightly around his waist.
"Yin Ge…" she whispered, her voice a mix of frustration and exhaustion. "You're too wicked… You always bully me like this!"
Ye Yin gently lifted her chin. "Yes, I am bullying you."
"I won't let you have your way," Zhu Zhuqing shot back, giving him a resentful glare.
She felt as if she had been hit by a blunt object. The suddenness of the ability's side effect left her completely bewildered. Only then did she realize the true power of his attack. If her physical condition had been even slightly worse, the shock alone could have knocked her unconscious. It was a terrifying thought.
…
Meanwhile, elsewhere in Shrek Academy, Yu Xiaogang was in a state of constant panic. He and Luo San Pao were running around the training grounds, leaving their tracks everywhere. They had no idea when the side effects of Ye Yin's ability would finally disappear. All they knew was that the effects could last for a maximum of twenty-four hours.
Their only option was to hide in their dorm for the entire duration. They would rather starve for a full day than go outside and face the chaotic mess they were causing.
While they spent twenty-four hours hungry and hiding, Zhu Zhuqing spent the day in her dorm, completely full.
Thankfully for her, only the first few hours were truly difficult. After Ye Yin's initial enhancement wore off, he tried a few more times to reorganize things but failed to get the same desired effect. This was a great relief to Zhu Zhuqing.
By the end of it, her entire body felt weak and numb. Even her voice had become hoarse, sounding like sandpaper scraping against a painted wall.
"Yin Ge, you're not human!" she complained.
[Resentment from Zhu Zhuqing +30!]
Throughout the process, Zhu Zhuqing had been continuously supplying Ye Yin with resentment points. It was a strange situation where pleasure and resentment existed at the same time.
"Don't worry," Ye Yin said with a reassuring smile. "I will definitely not treat you unfairly!"
He looked at his system panel and spent four thousand resentment points to purchase four hundred years' worth of Spirit Ring age enhancement. However, he didn't plan on using it for himself. This was for Zhu Zhuqing.
The items from the system store were pure and simple. The four-hundred-year Spirit Ring age enhancement manifested as a non-attribute yellow Spirit Ring, which could be placed next to another Spirit Ring to merge with it.
"Zhuqing," he said softly, "release your Spirit. I'm going to help you enhance your Spirit Ring's age."
Hearing this, Zhu Zhuqing tried to sit up excitedly, but she found she had no strength left.
"I…" she managed to say, before completing her Spirit possession. Two yellow Spirit Rings rose from her feet and hovered around her.
Ye Yin took the non-attribute, mergeable Spirit Ring and placed it next to Zhu Zhuqing's second Spirit Ring. A yellow light flowed from the enhancement ring into hers. As the energy merged, purple patterns began to appear on her second Spirit Ring. The number of patterns increased from the original six to seven, then eight, nine, and finally ten.
When the tenth pattern appeared, Zhu Zhuqing's yellow Spirit Ring shattered with a loud crack and instantly reformed into a brilliant purple Spirit Ring. Her hundred-year Spirit Ring had successfully advanced to a thousand-year Spirit Ring.
The moment the advancement was complete, Zhu Zhuqing felt a powerful surge of energy rush through her body. She stood up from the bed excitedly, and all the fatigue she had felt throughout the day was instantly swept away.
"Is this the power of a thousand-year Spirit Ring?" she asked in awe. "Since this one is a thousand-year ring, does that mean my third Spirit Ring can be from a four or five-thousand-year-old Spirit Beast? And my fourth could even be a ten-thousand-year Spirit Ring!"
Ye Yin nodded. "That's right. Your future potential has greatly increased." He then lay back on the bed, panting heavily with a look of feigned weakness on his face.
"Yin Ge, what's wrong?" Zhu Zhuqing asked, immediately crawling over to him with a worried expression.
Ye Yin forced a weak smile. "I'm just a little tired from enhancing your Spirit Ring's age."
"Yin Ge, thank you," she said gratefully. "You don't look well. Let me help you… sober up a bit."
With that, she lay down beside him. Ye Yin's eyes suddenly widened in surprise.
Ye Yin: !!!
Finally, after a long twenty-four hours, the effects on Yu Xiaogang ended. The Shrek Academy students, who had been hiding in their dorms all day, cautiously began to emerge one by one.
Back at the training grounds, Yu Xiaogang stared at the messy field. The ground was covered in the remnants of the 'five grains' that had gone through reincarnation. He stood there, completely stunned.
"Am I dreaming?" he muttered to himself. He pinched his thigh hard. "Hiss! That hurts! What did I do all day?"
Although his mind hadn't been right for the past day, his memories of the events were crystal clear.
"YE YIN!" Yu Xiaogang roared, his voice filled with fury.
[Resentment from Yu Xiaogang +99!]
His resentment was about to explode.
"Grandmaster, you can't blame me for this," Ye Yin said innocently, lowering his head. "You were the one who wanted to try it with me. And you were the one who insisted on showing everyone the courage of a Spirit Master."
Hearing Ye Yin's words only made Yu Xiaogang even more furious, but he also felt a strange sense of helplessness, with nowhere to vent his anger.
He was filled with regret. Deep, profound regret. Why, of all people, did he choose someone as sinister as Ye Yin to demonstrate the courage of a Spirit Master? At that moment, he would have rather faced a Titled Douluo.
