Chapter 9 - Thinking about Stuff...While Also Doing a Bit of Clean Up...

It took a while to get my pincher out of the urchin, which was disturbing in a lot of senses, as I could feel the innards sloshing about when I tried to peel it off.

When I was done fighting that thing, I was so dead tired that I had to stay there and take a breather. I have wasted so much energy I had wasted just to kill it. My whole body, especially my pinchers, was a bit sore. At least I was done with that thing.

Honestly, that is the second time I have had to fight something close to my size. First, that Eel hunted and fought me with sheer ferocity, second, the urchin, which I didn't want to fight and tried to lure it out, only to then spot me, and I guess tried to eat me.

Okay, I didn't want this to be a thing, but with how much I have to deal with, I need to think of a way to stop having to encounter anything dangerous to my life.

I need to remove anything that attracts these things towards the area I live in, especially my lair, since I have worked hard to make that. Well, it was a quick fix, though, so maybe I should try to either deepen it or add in more rooms for me to settle in.

I mean, why waste such a good place to live in, since I only encountered something deadly for about three days at least? So all I need is to remove what has taken these things notice...oh yeah...those coconut things.

I look towards where those things were, and of course, there they are swaying in the wind as their many eyes look around the area. Still don't know why those things have a mouth since they didn't even have any internal organs, since I did cut a few.

Weird tall things, either way, those things are catching the attention of even a sea creature, which I was still baffled about since even that forced itself to walk on land. The anatomy of these creatures is weird. I included, since I was still getting used to this new appearance of mine.

The motions are familiar to me as my brain is high-wired towards moving like when I was a human being. That could be one of the things that was wrapped into what I am today, which is still hard to move, though. At least I could somewhat run and jump better on land than underwater, since I had a hard time there.

Not as hard as still trying to get used to defecating as a crab, though. I had to relieve myself out of my lair, which was a bit nerve-wracking.

Oh well, I have my time ruminating in my thoughts, might as well start weeding out the coconut things from the area around the entrance to my lair.

I stood up, carrying the corpse of the urchin as well, since I might be able to use it or try to get any meat out of it. Couldn't break the spike/shell in half, but I might be able to use it as some sort of weapon, though. A mace or a ball and chain would work well. Maybe a punching glove for one of my pincher.

I was sort of giddy with what I have now been able to obtain.

I only felt something like this when I thought I was given a gift? Those memories are still foggy, so I wouldn't be able to recall them like my other memories.

Anyway, once I was now close to the entrance to my lair, I set down the urchin corpse beside it. That was harder to carry than I realized, since I had to pull it with all my might, since its mouth was still wedged into the trees.

A few bits were still there since some of it couldn't get off the trees, so any weak parts were ripped off the base of the tentacle.

With that done, I then check just how many coconut things were there in the area. There were roughly 10 of them spread around the area. That made me worry since this many might only attract something else, especially the pile I have just left on the other side of the beach.

So I will have to return to that once I pluck off the rest of these coconut things.

I started with the one that was the closest to me, again it shrieked, sort of as I pulled it off the ground/sand. Putting it beside a small boulder, I then went to the next one, then the next, and the next, etc.

It took me, I think, a few hours since I was done, it was getting dark, which only made me work harder as I pulled them towards the later pile I made. After that, I made sure to push it away from the vicinity of my lair since I did this because I do not want anything to get close to my dwelling place.

Didn't have the time to dig up a hole and just tossed these things there since I didn't want to be out in the night.

With still a bit of sunlight left, I quickly went back to where I had placed the corpse of the urchin. It was still there where I had put it. So, grabbing hold of it, I then pulled at the shell with my left pincher while my right one grabbed hold of the fleshy bits.

I let out a sort of grunt as I pulled harder and harder, as it was getting every bit of strength to pull the flesh off the urchin.

This isn't how the anatomy of a urchin should be, since I sort of remembered that aside from its many tiny feet for movement, the inside of a urchin isn't this sinewy and fleshy, awfully similar to ripping meat with your hands.

But I didn't stop as I was determined to pull it off.

With one final pull, I then begin to hear the sound of something ripping off. It was the fleshy parts of the urchin. Unfortunately, it wasn't all the flesh parts, such as bile, fluids, and so on.

I couldn't smell, so it didn't bother me that the fluids hit me as well, which felt like sticky glue or something viscous enough to slowly flow down my shell.

I would have gagged, but didn't as I kinda of see it as a bother. So I simply went to the beach to rinse it off my shell. Went back, grabbed the piece of the urchin and the shell, ate the flesh, which tasted okay, even a bit fishy, and stored the rest in my lair storage. Grabbed and stored the urchin shell as well, even though I know that it is the skin of that urchin, but once more, I don't care. Close the entrance and went to sleep.

I just want to take a good night's sleep...I need it at this point.
