Chapter 70 - 9

It's cold when you wake up, like winter is creeping through the walls to caress your lips and neck. You shake off the scratchy blanket.

Great Gaia, the smell: waffles.

You eat until you physically can't contain another waffle, but you know you have work in this town, so you tighten your jacket and step out into the ice wind. The director, Rick, watches you with quiet hatred as you leave. You shouldn't come back here.

As determination wars with concern about your future prospects, your thoughts turn to tomorrow night—and not freezing to death. What if you're caught out here again? Though you don't have any formal survival training, you think back to what your pack taught you shortly after your First Change.
