Sid froze, his hand still pressed against her chest. He could feel her heart racing beneath his palm, matching the pounding in his own ears.
Morgana's cheeks flushed a deep red, her breath coming in short, sharp gasps. She stared up at him with wide, startled eyes, lips parted in a silent moan. She whispered, her voice trembling.
"S-Sid...The key..."
Sid swallowed hard, his throat suddenly dry. He knew he should pull away, apologize for the inappropriate touch.
"I-I'm sorry, Morgana… my hands just moved on their own. I tried to catch the key but—"
"N-No, sorry! I-It fell! I—I'll get it, just… d-don't look!"
She stammered, twisting away from him as if the floor might open up and swallow her. Sid rubbed his forehead, groaning.
"Unbelievable. Out of all the places it could've landed… damn key's got a sense of humor."
Morgana fumbled awkwardly, still cuffed with her hands pinned behind her back. She bent forward, trying to grab the key with her mouth, but her head wouldn't lower far enough.
The attempt only deepened the flush across her face, heat burning in her cheeks. Sid leaned back against the wall, arms crossed, watching her struggle. His lips twitched, caught between bursting into laughter and offering real sympathy.
Sid sighed, shaking his head. He stepped closer to Morgana, his voice softer
"Alright, alright. We don't have time for this. I'll get it. Just...try to relax, okay?"
Morgana nodded, her breath hitching as Sid's fingers brushed against her collarbone. Slowly, he slipped his hand into the neckline of her shirt, his knuckles grazing the swell of her breast. She bit her lip, suppressing a whimper as he delved deeper.
"Ugh… S-Sid…"
Sid's fingertips grazed something metallic, and he curled them around the key. But as he tried to pull it out, it caught on something else - a lace strap of Morgana's bra. He tugged gently, and the key slid free.
"Got it!"
As Sid withdrew his hand, Morgana let out a shuddering breath. Her nipples were hard peaks beneath the thin fabric of her shirt, betraying her arousal despite the situation.
Sid knelt behind Morgana sliding the key carefully into the lock of her cuffs. The moment it clicked, he noticed the raw red bands around her wrists. His smirk faded, replaced by a sharp frown.
"Damn… your skin's rubbed raw. How long have you been stuck like this?"
Morgana lowered her eyes, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Since this morning… before the school gates even opened. Someone grabbed me, dragged me here… and locked me up. I… I never even made it to class."
Sid's eyes widened. His jaw clenched tight as his head snapped toward the ceiling speaker.
"It's lunch break now. You've been here all morning? No food, no water?! Big D! I know you're still there! You think this is funny?!"
For a moment, silence. Then the speaker buzzed alive, Big D's voice stumbling, sounding more shaken than usual.
"Hold on, hold on! Don't pin this on me! I didn't put her there. I swear, Wilder. I just… I saw her locked up when I came to set up the booth. Figured, hey, what better chance to prank you, huh? I thought it was all part of the school's event."
"You expect me to believe that? She's been cuffed here all damn morning!"
"I'm telling the truth! Look, I mess with people, yeah. I prank, I humiliate, I make content. But I don't… I don't do this. I don't kidnap. I don't starve people. That's not me."
Morgana lifted her head slightly, her lips trembling. Sid's eyes softened when he looked at her, then back at the speaker. His anger hadn't cooled, but his instincts told him Big D wasn't lying this time.
"Tch… so what, you actually saved her by pairing her with me?"
Sid asked, his tone cutting but edged with reluctant recognition.
Big D hesitated, then scoffed.
"Don't twist it. I was just passing by, saw her wasting away in that room, and the organizers said nobody even paid to lock her up. Nobody cared enough to pick her. So I thought—fine, I'll use it. You were my perfect target for the day."
Sid's glare eased a fraction, though his jaw was still tight. He muttered under his breath, more to himself than anyone else.
"Guess you're not as heartless as you pretend to be…"
He turned back to Morgana, the key still warm in his palm. He unlocked her cuffs with slow care, the metal clattering to the floor. Her wrists were free at last.
"You're out now… No one's locking you up again. Not while I'm around."
As soon as the cuffs clattered to the floor, Big D's voice echoed from the speaker.
"Alright, jail door's unlocked. You're free to go, lovebirds."
Sid stepped forward quickly, holding out a hand to Morgana, ready to help her up. But as soon as her weight shifted, her knees buckled. She collapsed to the floor hardly, her head grazing the tiles. Sid's eyes widened in shock, then narrowed in fury.
"MORGANA!"
Sid lunged instantly, getting her from the floor His grip was firm, protective, and his jaw clenched in sheer fury.
"Hey! Hey, stay with me! Wake up!"
Morgana's head rested against his chest, eyes fluttering shut as exhaustion and hunger overwhelmed her. Sid's teeth ground together, anger twisting into a physical ache in his chest.
"This… this is insane! Who the hell thought it was okay to starve someone, lock them in isolation, and call it a 'Valentine's event'?! These organizers, these assholes… they're gonna pay for this! You hear me?! Every single one of them!"
He half-carried, half-dragged her toward the door, his long strides fueled by righteous fury.
"You think this is a game? Locking someone up all morning? Ignoring their suffering? No. Nobody does this to her or anyone!"
His fists clenched so tight that his knuckles whitened, his entire body trembling with anger. Finally, he reached the door, swung it open, and the sunlight crashed against him in blinding waves.
Sid staggered back for a split second, squinting as the brightness seared his vision. The bell from the school rang loud, slicing through his ears like a physical blow, echoing across the courtyard.
Sid coughed, shielding his eyes, but the intensity of the sun forced him to pause. He shouted into the glaring light, his voice almost drowned by the bell, yet still echoing:
"I will make every one of you pay for this!"
Then reality shifted. The bell's sound warped, echoing differently in his ears. It was no longer a school chime but something artificial. Sid blinked against the brightness, his senses adjusting, the courtyard melting into a cabin interior.
A system prompt shimmered in his vision.
