The Knight Guard's visor glowed brighter with each exchange, its movements almost mocking now— parrying, hooking, slamming, pushing him back with mechanical precision. Sid's breathing grew ragged.
"You're just… a dead knight! Why are you fighting like this?! She's right there— she's right behind this door!"
The knight answered only with another deafening bash that cracked the floor under their feet.
Sid fell to one knee. His vision blurred. His HUD blinked erratically, red and gold flashing together.
"Why the hell are you trying to push me away from that room?! Don't tell me you… you locked Evelise in there, you bastard?!"
Then, something new appeared before his eyes.
