"Has Daoist Lin stumbled?"
"Maybe he just got lucky before!"
"The Daoist seems a bit dim-witted. Master Rag already said this guy only has two children."
"The guy just admitted it..."
Lin Chen paused, "Antonio, do you remember Aisha?"
Antonio's expression changed drastically, "Little Daoist, you can't just say things like that. Aisha is my wife's cousin."
"I was just asking, why are you so anxious? Got a guilty conscience?" Lin Chen laughed.
Suddenly, a middle-aged woman appeared in his view, "Daoist, are you talking about my husband and Aisha?!"
Antonio yelled, "He's talking nonsense!"
His wife didn't believe him, though. "No wonder. I've known you two were up to something. Is that child yours?"
Slap! Antonio slapped his wife across the face. "You don't believe me, but you believe an outsider!"
Lin Chen frowned. "Antonio, hitting a woman isn't a good habit."
Antonio glared at Lin Chen fiercely. "You have no evidence. This is slander. You'll be getting a lawyer's letter!"
Many viewers in the chatroom also reminded Lin Chen that he could be sued without evidence.
Lin Chen nodded. "If you don't believe it, you can watch the recording of last night's Basketball Game, at the thirty-second minute."
Antonio felt a pang of guilt. He had gone to the basketball game with Aisha last night.
Not long after, the screen was filled with comments:
"The Taoist priest is amazing!"
"This guy's a scumbag! During the break at the end of the second quarter of the Basketball Game, the photographer caught him making out with a hot chick!"
"That person is definitely not his wife."
"The photographer deserves a bonus!"
"I know her, she's Antonio's wife's cousin."
"Aisha had a baby, so he's the father."
Antonio was at a loss, unsure how to respond.
Master Rag was stunned. He hadn't expected this case to be so complicated!
Could he be a stooge? Trying to trick me?
Antonio flared up. "So what if I was with Aisha? Maybe you were watching the livestream last night and saw it!"
His words seemed plausible to the viewers.
"Maybe the Daoist master really did watch the game last night."
"You're an idiot, if he watched the game he would know he had a son."
"Yeah, it's hard to explain."
Lin Chen waved his hand. "Alright, let's not get into that for now. I also foresee a challenge coming your way soon."
"You mean my wife's going to be difficult? Don't worry, she's not that petty," Antonio said dismissively.
"No. Do you have another job besides being a construction worker?"
"Nope."
"But I calculate that you have a side hustle, often knocking people on the head and robbing them at night!" Lin Chen chuckled.
"Damn it, you're going too far," Antonio thought, his heart pounding, but he maintained an innocent look.
"Knock! Knock! Knock!" Someone was knocking on Antonio's door.
"Who is it?" His wife went to open the door, and four detectives appeared on the video feed.
The lead detective was a woman, about twenty-two or twenty-three years old. She had short hair, pale skin, long legs, and an excellent figure. Her eyes were sharp, and she looked very capable.
"Mr. Antonio, we received a report that you are suspected of several robberies. This is our search warrant."
"I'm innocent! Someone is falsely accusing me!" Antonio shouted.
He pointed at his phone. "It's this Taoist priest, he's a liar!"
The female Detective frowned. "Sir, we need to conduct a search now. Please cooperate."
Two male Detectives restrained the agitated Antonio. The female Detective, wearing gloves, stood on a stool and pried open the ceiling in the southeast corner.
She pulled out a Backpack from inside and opened it. There was a Hammer, a Knife, a Watch, and Jewelry.
"Mr. Antonio, I think you must come with me to the police station to explain the source of these items!" the female Detective said with a serious expression.
Antonio's forehead was dripping with cold sweat. The evidence was irrefutable now; these were his tools and the unprocessed loot, all bearing his fingerprints. He couldn't deny it.
The female Detective walked over and bent down to look at Antonio's phone. "Mr. Lin Chen, thank you for providing the lead."
"Detective, what's your name?" Lin Chen asked, smiling at the Detective in the camera.
"Jill Valentine."
Lin Chen was stunned. She looks and has the same name as the female Detective from Resident Evil, Alice's good friend?!
He was shocked when he saw Jill's appearance. In his memory, this world didn't have Raccoon City.
The viewers saw that Lin Chen wasn't speaking, just staring at Jill Valentine.
"Has the little Taoist been smitten?"
"I'm starting to get flustered too. Sheesh, Jill is so fierce!"
"Go, Daoist! This young lady is great."
Lin Chen asked, "Detective Jill, do you know Alice?"
Jill frowned, thinking for a moment. "I don't think so."
However, she glanced at Lin Chen and was also stunned. This young Daoist is quite handsome!
"Mr. Lin, you might need to assist with the investigation later."
Lin Chen nodded. "No problem."
The comments exploded again.
"The guy's starting to flirt."
"Such an old trick."
"But the guy's handsome, so it might actually work."
"The guy's looks don't even need flirting!"
