Lin Chen was just about to make an arrest when something changed on the street.
The legendary Underworld heroine, Selene, walked toward the subway entrance, followed closely by several werewolves.
At the same time, a vampire hunting squad leaped down from the balconies of nearby buildings, preparing to pursue the werewolves.
Selene jumped down as well.
Lin Chen reacted instantly, shrinking his body by an inch.

Selene fell—but not onto the ground as she had expected.

She wanted to bite him.
But reason told her not to hurt innocents.
"I can't hurt innocent people…" she struggled internally. "But his hands are very dishonest. He's obviously not a good person. Should I bite him?!"
Lin Chen smiled."Miss, your leather jacket and pants look great."
Selene struggled free from his arms."You think I don't know what you're thinking? So what if you're handsome? The police shouldn't interfere with my business!"

Selene nearly tripped. She glared at him."I don't eat random things! Stop following me, or I'll beat you up!"
"I'm just going to the subway station. Everyone passes through."
She quickened her pace and headed down the stairs.
A bald vampire walked over and said coldly,"Kid, that's our boss's woman. You're courting death."
"That's great. I like my big brother's woman the most—she's full of energy," Lin Chen replied casually.
Before the bald vampire could react, Lin Chen took a few steps forward and blended into the crowd.
The bald vampire sniffed the air, then suddenly realized something."This Asian's blood smells incredible… I'll dedicate him to the boss!"
Selene followed several werewolves into the subway station, hiding behind a pillar and staring at the tall, muscular black werewolf—the prey they had failed to catch for nearly six hundred years.
Bang!
Lin Chen placed one hand on the pillar beside her, leaning in with a loud impact."Miss, you couldn't jump off a building, and now you want to lie down again?"
"I was committing suicide?!" Selene rolled her eyes, smelling Lin Chen's blood."Stay away from me, or I might do bad things to you."
Lin Chen smiled."I don't think I want to do anything to you. Let's go together."
"Go together?!" Selene bared her fangs and glared at him.
"Your little tiger tooth is so cute. I fell in love at first sight. My name is Lin Chen—nice to meet you," he said with a grin.
Selene was completely confused. She hadn't expected this man to be completely unafraid of her fangs.
She revealed the pistol at her waist."Get lost!"
Whoosh—
Before she could react, Lin Chen had already taken the gun and was playing with it."This is a nice gun. I like it."
Selene: "…Did I forget to check the almanac today?"
While the two were entangled, the large black werewolf noticed the vampire hunters tailing him. He pulled out two submachine guns, opened fire, and shouted,"Vampires!"

Bullets flew wildly through the confined space.
The subway station instantly descended into chaos—screaming, shouting, curses echoing everywhere.
One of the werewolves targeted Selene and opened fire.

Her guns had been modified, similar to micro SMGs—high fire rate, extreme bullet output.
Lin Chen shook his head."Your aim is terrible. You missed with dozens of shots."
Selene ignored him and chased after the werewolf.
Lin Chen didn't follow. Instead, he rescued two civilians hit by stray bullets, pressing on their wounds to stop the bleeding.
The bald vampire approached quietly from behind. Seeing Lin Chen distracted, he raised a blade and knocked him unconscious.
"Don't blame me, officer. Your blood smells too good. After drinking it, I might evolve. Hahaha!"
Lin Chen suddenly opened his eyes."So my blood is that good? Too bad you don't have the luck to enjoy it."
The bald vampire panicked and pointed his gun at Lin Chen.
Lin Chen stood up abruptly, crushing the gun hand with one grip and snapping his wrist.
With his other hand, he seized the vampire by the neck and lifted him."What happened to the green-haired woman you captured yesterday?!"
The bald vampire bared his fangs."Hiss!"
He replied stubbornly,"Don't expect to get anything out of me!"
Lin Chen slapped him to the ground and stepped on his leg bone.
"Ahhh!" The vampire screamed.
"Talk or not?" Lin Chen demanded.
"I won't talk even if you kill me!"
"Alright. As you wish."
Lin Chen stomped down on the other leg as well. Ignoring the screams, he began divining in human form.
"Dungeon… who is imprisoned at vampire headquarters? Planning to secretly drain blood for Marcus to enjoy in a few days, welcoming his awakening? How many other powered individuals are there?"
Seeing that Polaris was unharmed despite being imprisoned, Lin Chen finally relaxed.
The bald vampire stared at him in disbelief."You already knew… and I haven't even said anything!"
"Divination. You wouldn't understand."
"Then why did you beat me?!"
"I didn't want to waste spiritual energy calculating for one person."
The bald vampire felt like he had encountered a lunatic."Can you let me go?"
"You said it yourself—kill you if you don't talk."
Lin Chen's eyes turned red. A heat ray shot out, killing him instantly.
He threw a talisman over the body and found the energy pitiful.
"What a waste of a talisman on a monster."
With a flick of Samadhi Fire, the vampire was burned to ashes.
Lin Chen pushed open the door. The gunfight outside had ended; both sides had entered the train tunnel.
Lin Chen intended to escort Miss Vampire to vampire headquarters, so he had to catch up.
He jumped down onto the tracks and just happened to see a transformed werewolf and a vampire tearing into each other viciously.
"Why bother?" He ignored them and continued rushing into the tunnel.
At this moment, Selene had tracked the werewolf into the underground passage.
The werewolf was clever, hiding and preparing an ambush.
She searched carefully.
"Police—shoot—" a man shouted.
