The Stark Expo was in full preparation, bustling like a roaring fire.
Lin Chen and Polaris arrived at Tony's villa, only to find the atmosphere far from harmonious. Several men in suits stood outside, staring at Lin Chen with clear vigilance.
Coulson, whom Lin Chen had not seen for a long time, stepped forward."Daoist Lin, we meet again."
"Coulson? S.H.I.E.L.D.'s reach really is long," Lin Chen said with a smile as he shook Coulson's hand.
Coulson replied that it still wasn't long enough to fully penetrate Gotham.
Black Widow walked in wearing a tight-fitting agent uniform, her figure swaying with every step. "Enough" was not a word that could describe her figure—several nearby agents were staring straight at her.
Lorna sighed inwardly. The pressure was immense. Completely incomparable.
Lin Chen smiled."Romanoff, take good care of yourself. If you don't, hand the position over to me."
Black Widow rolled her eyes at him."Don't even think about it. My job is great right now."
Lin Chen chuckled."With two top-tier agents here, the braised-egg head must be inside too."
Black Widow leaned closer and whispered,"Be polite to Fury. He has backing. His eye was scratched out by a very powerful primordial beast from the universe."
Lin Chen almost laughed out loud."Fury really is something else. Thanks for the reminder—but it seems you don't know much about primordial beasts. Maybe he should prepare more cat food."
Black Widow froze on the spot.
Lin Chen, Lorna, and Black Widow walked into the villa. Fury was chatting with Iron Man.
"Oh! Oh! Oh! The mighty warrior who fought the Kree—finally, I meet the real man!" Fury stood up.
"Daoist, I've been following you for a long time. You're truly beloved by the people."
Lin Chen shook his hand."Fury, thank you for sending Agent Romanoff to me."
Black Widow rolled her eyes. This Daoist was blatantly setting him up.
Fury shook his head."Unfortunately, the prey we agreed upon ended up becoming a hunter. That was a loss for me."
He paused, his expression turning serious."Sir Lin, Earth's situation is extremely delicate right now. I hope you'll join S.H.I.E.L.D."
Lin Chen pursed his lips."Can S.H.I.E.L.D. represent Earth? Sorry, I don't eat from your bowl."
Tony nodded in agreement."Same here."
Fury was clearly unhappy. As soon as Lin Chen arrived, he had already pulled Stark away.
"Daoist Lin, without our backing, many things won't go smoothly for you."
Lin Chen smiled and glanced at Fury's eyepatch."Not smoothly? You mean like getting scratched by a cat?"
Fury was startled. Did Lin Chen know his biggest secret?
He coughed twice, unwilling to say more and expose himself."Forget it. Think about it carefully."
Lowering his voice, he added,"Master, S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't just have Natasha Romanoff. We also have Agent Hill and Agent Skye. All excellent."
Lin Chen shook his head."Director Nick Fury, you're fishing—but I'm not interested in the bait."
Seeing he couldn't persuade him, Fury had no choice but to give up.
He glanced at the tall Polaris."Lorna Dane, S.H.I.E.L.D. already knows about your background in Gotham."
Lorna smiled."Thanks for the reminder. We have countermeasures."
Fury tried once more."You have exceptional leadership abilities. Consider joining S.H.I.E.L.D. Once inside, I'll grant you Level Five clearance."
Lorna shook her head and refused. Joining meant endless missions—who knew when she'd ever get a day off?
Fury left unhappily. None of the three had been recruited.
To save face, he pointed at his eye."I'll be watching you."
Lin Chen replied casually,"Save it. You only have one eye left."
Lin Chen helped Tony lie down. Lorna sensed the metal shrapnel near his heart.
She nodded at Lin Chen."Master, no problem. I can remove the shrapnel without harming his heart."
Tony was still uneasy."This green-haired lady, please focus. I don't want to die."
"You won't," Lin Chen said calmly."The police are watching."
Black Widow and Coulson also came over to observe.
Lin Chen took out a dozen silver needles and swiftly inserted them into Tony's acupuncture points to numb pain and stop bleeding.
"All right, Lorna. Begin."
Lorna's expression grew serious. Her eyes glowed green as her slender hands moved.
"Hey!"
A piece of shrapnel shot out.
Then the second.
Then the third.
The fragments were extremely thin, but leaving them in the body long-term would have caused serious harm.
After fifteen minutes, Lin Chen wiped the sweat from Lorna's forehead. All the shrapnel had been removed.
He performed a Xuanmen purification technique and placed a healing talisman over Tony's heart to disinfect and accelerate recovery.

"Just take one," Tony said without hesitation. Lin Chen had helped him too much.
"One's not enough," Lin Chen replied."One for me, one for Lorna, and one for Natasha Romanoff."
Black Widow's eyes lit up. He still remembered her.
Many of Tony's cars were limited editions—she had wanted one for a long time.
She smiled."Then I'll thank both bosses."
Tony waved it off."Whatever. S.H.I.E.L.D. agents can just wear my suits."
Lorna picked a yellow Aston Martin and drove back to Gotham. There was still plenty to do there. She'd return to New York tomorrow.
Lin Chen chatted with Tony for a bit, mentioned he'd bring his girlfriend to the expo, and then drove off.
Before leaving, he reminded him,"Tony, take a closer look at the expo model your father left behind. You might gain something unexpected."
Tony nodded. The Daoist's words always carried deeper meaning.
Black Widow sped off in a red supercar.
"Snatch the benefit and run—truly a Black Widow. Cold-hearted," Lin Chen shook his head and drove his silver sports car toward New York City.
At the New York Museum of Art, Diana finished her work for the day and walked out.
Beep beep.A silver sports car stopped by the roadside.
"Beautiful lady, where are you going? I'll give you a ride," Lin Chen stepped out of the car.
The female staff at the museum stared at him with shining eyes."Wow, he's so handsome!"
"If a guy like that chased me, I'd say yes immediately."
"A limited-edition sports car—handsome and rich!"
Diana rolled her eyes at Lin Chen."Sorry, I don't think I know you."
She remembered his total absence in New York after all the chaos in Europe.
Lin Chen shook his head, walked over, picked Diana up, and tossed her into the car."So you won't drink a toast unless you're forced? Fine!"
"Kidnapping a civilian woman in broad daylight?!" Diana was momentarily speechless.
Her colleagues covered their mouths in envy."He's so strong—he picked Diana up effortlessly!"
"What a handsome boyfriend!"
"Diana didn't resist at all—that means they've definitely had something going on! I'm so jealous!"
Lin Chen floored the accelerator and drove off.
Diana smiled and looked at him."So domineering? I'm calling the police."
"You're Wonder Woman. If you didn't want it, could I have picked you up?"
"Bastard—you look down on me way too much!"
