Chapter 11 - The Ruth Hibernal (3)

"This is scary...! This is real... SCARY!!!"

She was in the dark, it was dark!!! She's scared of the dark... No. She's scared of what's inside the dark!

Her fingers slowly curled up on the wall beside as her other hand held on the ribcage of her hoodie, gripping it tightly as she slowly walked in the dark.

"I shouldn't have left... I should've stayed...!"

She told herself in the head, repeating that sentence over and over. Simply because she was tired of the Scenarios.

She looked back at the door where the light came through under the tiny peek of the door.

A panel was shown in front of her,

[ Scenario #3 - Escape ]

Note; ! He will be watching every inch of your movements !

Reward: 1500 coins

Difficulty: Hard

She stared at the panel, her eyes filled with terrifiedness. As if a horrific moment had happened upon her eyes

As it disappeared, she quickly looked around through the darkness. Her shoulder was leaning to the wall, out of sacredness.

She couldn't move.

Her eyes were swallowed with water as she waited for one of them to come out of that door with her, otherwise, it is too bad.

She has to walk alone by herself in the gloomy, displeasing sight.

"Brother Xiao..."

She muttered under her breath, her eyes were starting to be nodding as she continued on walking.

It was so dark, and the air wasn't quite great either.

She slowly turned to look behind her, she was now far away from the door. Her eyes half-lidded.

"I should've slept..."

With that single sentence, she had almost collapsed to the ground, out of tiredness.

[...]

On the other hand....

I had been looking at the blank page of Tales for minutes now.

No words written, just blank. Bold and solid page with no thoughts.

Qiu Jing was creeping me out, too. He's been staring at me for the past few minutes.

As if I don't know.

He sat up from the chair and went up to go in it.

Although he was the one who had taken a peek from that door, to see the entity pass by.

It still made him shiver, running off as if something was chasing him.

I then, too, sat up from my chair and slowly went in.

The moment I stepped in, my eyes had already perked with the shadow, the lingering energy.

Wrapping up around us, is what made this scenario seem more harder than how it is described.

Because this "system" is a game. Where we make a fool of ourselves as the Constellations watch us, laughing.

I gazed up. This labyrinth... The entity here is not just one. Looking down towards them, Qiu Jing was holding her.

Firmly. Did she collapse in his arms?

It seems so.

Her body does not fit in this kind of scenario. If she continues, she will definitely get sick for the past few days.

Slowly after, I approached them. She was hot when I placed my palm on her forehead.

Her face seems restless, even her body is too weak for this.

"Hold on to her for now"

Qiu jing turned to me like an abandoned child was in his eyes, so hurt... Nodding with my words and picking her up as we paddled.

As we walked with her head falling to his shoulder. We struggled to see as it was too dark, I reached out my hand to make a fire floating on my palm, lighting up the place.

Did I regret it? No. Even after we have witnessed a bunch of entities surrounding us, having their eyes on us. I still had my hand out to light up the mood.

Although the mood was still unrecovered. I just wanted to lighten up the place a little.

Qiu Jing was staring at the fire from my palm, as if it seemed aureate to his eyes. Shining up the isolation from his iris.

"How..."

he hissed, gazing up to me.

I ignored his gaze and continued on walking through the darkness with the waving fire lightening up the place while my other hand touched the pattern of the wall, looking for answers from it.

I looked at the patterns as my fingers traced them.

They were drawings of people from the old centuries, the leaves, and the waving air. They were all so familiar to me, as though they were once from my hands.

"Were these from Silveria...?"

I pondered.

I remembered when I first came to Silveria from above, the mountains were already chopped in pieces and the land was dry with no green.

I had walked over miles away, to nations and nations. Not once have I found an entity who dared battle with me, everything was peaceful. Although some Nations may seem dangerous with their temperature, everyone was given freedom for no danger to their home and loved ones.

The mountains were either sharp or flat, some would have caves on them. And that's where the mortals had stayed.

I've once been forced to stay with them as a family. Although their language isn't quite as great as it is now, I simply nodded to whatever questions they asked and did what they wanted me to.

Perchance, this specific drawing, whose a man wearing a robe with long hair is someone special, to be drawn by the ancient fleshes. A smile that seemed genuine had appeared on my face.

Qiu Jing slowly approached to me from behind after I had paused on walking and whisper,

"What are you thinking?"

I jerked at his voice as I had snapped back to reality, surprised. Shifting my gaze to her laying as he holds her.

I answered,

"Nothing..."

"This one seems familiar to me... What about you?"

Yet another question, he placed his hand on the drawing of a man in a robe with long hair. It was a side-profile, with a flower drawing beside him.

His eyes lowered to the other drawings below him.

"..."

"We should get going"

I muttered, as I kept walking with him following behind me.

From the drawings I have seen so far, they do not satisfy my needs for this area's information. They were just drawings drawn by the ancient beings.

Although they do have a deep history, they're from another place. Transferred here by the system on purpose, for entertainment.

As I paddled down the pathway with Qiu Jing following me behind while holding onto Yi Mei Lu.

A panel had suddenly appeared in front of us.

[ ! The Scenario #3 has just now begin ! ]

"just now begin"? Seems like this time is for real...

No matter how many times I have gone through this, it still creeps me out, especially when I know that someone... Is watching me from above, and not just one.

Now that I have experienced it. Mayhap, they're telling me to stop playing around

As I continue to wander down the pathway, it really does seem to be huge. Looking down here from the entity's viewpoint, we're just as tiny as an ant, although ants are much more tinier than us.

I wouldn't expect for the entity to step so fast with our eyes as we're definitely in a different universe.

To think we're this small in another universe, we would've been dead the moment something had touched us.

"Hey... We're so far from the door already, are we still not there?"

"You—!"

I tried to speak, turning to him with my eyes wide. As he had realized, he quickly covered up his mouth, slowly looking behind to see a huge black hand was just miles away from us.

It was so crusty... And stinky, so ugly.

We wanted to turn back to the front, until a water had suddenly dropped near us. I could hear it.

My ears perked so sharply, the fear in my face increased as I realized which and where the entity was.

With the fire from my palm started to flick, the sound of the entity's breathing was heard above us. Even trying to keep up the fire would attract the entity's attention more.

Better than getting notice faster.

I forgot we've been caught already.

This is his fault

[ This is your fault actually ]

"What?"

Surprise surprise, Qiu Jing is running off while gripping her tightly!!

"Wa- Wait...!!!"

I tried reaching out to him with my hand but it was too late, he was far away already.

Did he just leave me behind...(?)

[ Huff huff... ]

The breath of the entity as it slowly gets closer to my head, preparing to eat me alive now.

As I had tried stepping forward without a sound, it unexpectedly started to growl aggressively so loud at me.

Turning to the entity, visibly shaking.

Out of the flash, something had gripped on my hand, dragging me through the pathway rapidly before I could think.

"Why were you just standing there?!"

Qiu Jing scolded, he seemed annoyed. Was it because of my slow reaction? Perhaps...

Although, it was yet thanks to him, again. I felt more calm than before, my head slowly turned to him with my eyes half-closed.

"Slow down."

"Are you really going to tell me to slow down while getting chased by a huge entity?"

"Yes."

I replied.

My head feels hurt, too. However, this feels... Comfortable somehow.

"Are we there?"

"Almost."

This is getting tiring for me, and where is she?

As a shiny light had appeared upon us as he had dragged me throughout, collapsing on the ground with my legs numb from him dragging me.

My cheek faced the ground as I fell.

"Ahh...!"

A smile slowly appeared on my face as I hugged the ground. I wasn't sure why, maybe that we're free from that scary entity?

I feel sleepy either.

"..."

[ ! 3# Scenario have completed ! ]

From the sky being foggy, no color. Just white.

The sounds of them talking as I had rested next to Yi Mei Lu under the nearby old oak tree, blinking as I looked at the snow.

"The TV showed us the map on the train already…"(AYS)

"How are we going there if we don't have any guidance?" (ZYH)

"You idiots, the fox might guide us through the forest." (QJW)

"Oh." (ZYH)

Conversations.

Hearing conversations just after I had woken up, I'm not into that…

Yawning, I stretched my hands before I rubbed my eye with my hand.

"I can already tell their stares have turned to me…"

My eyes are tired but my brain is full of energy, is that how I felt in my previous try? I don't really quite remember as it has been so long now.

Immediately snapping back to reality, seeing now they're in front of me.

Were they this intimidating in close?

"Feellng better?"
