Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Thoughts Are Enough

Yukino Yukinoshita looked at the freshly baked cookies she had made and tasted one herself first.

Her usually cold little face rarely smiled, revealing a look of satisfaction, as the ingredients and tools were limited, preventing her from making the most perfect ones.

Yui Yuigahama also couldn't wait to pick up Yukinoshita's cookie and put it into her mouth.

A happy smile appeared on her face.

Although she had already eaten them yesterday.

"Mmm, so delicious, Yukino."

Mochizuki Yo also followed closely, although the shape of the cookies was ordinary, the aroma was quite tempting.

Indeed, the cookies tasted good.

Because the texture was even, they were baked just right.

The amount of various seasonings was also controlled very reasonably.

Paired with the cola next to them, Mochizuki felt he could eat this entire plate of cookies.

Next were Yui Yuigahama's cookies.

The three of them each picked up a cookie and ate it.

Finally.

A look of disappointment appeared on Yui Yuigahama's face.

She was on the verge of tears again.

It was both disappointment in herself for not being able to make delicious cookies and feeling she had let down Yukinoshita who had worked so hard to help her.

"They're still not good. Completely different from the ones Yukino made."

Yukinoshita also carefully savored the taste, holding one hand, her slender fingers placed on her chin as she thought seriously.

She spoke with a look of helplessness: "The steps are exactly the same, but the taste... What went wrong?"

Hearing Yukinoshita's evaluation, Yui Yuigahama lost all hope.

Mochizuki had also eaten one, and Mochizuki felt it was okay, better than the first time he ate them.

At least it wasn't a mouth full of industrial sweetener.

Looking at Yui Yuigahama, whose eyes were already full of tears, watching him with a last glimmer of hope.

Mochizuki felt a bit helpless, Yukinoshita, why don't you comfort her, say something nice?

It seems I have to step in.

"I think there's been great improvement, although the taste is very ordinary."

A little hope ignited in Yui Yuigahama, but it quickly extinguished. "But they're not tasty, how can I give them as a gift?"

"Who says a gift has to be very tasty!"

"The important thing about a gift is the thought! As long as they know you made it yourself, I think the person who receives the cookies will be secretly happy!"

"If you want tasty cookies, why not just buy them from a store?"

"Really? Xiao Wang, do you think so too?" Yui Yuigahama moved closer to Mochizuki, her tears had stopped, and her bright eyes made Mochizuki a little embarrassed.

"Really, me? Cough cough, probably."

Don't just look at me, the person who taught you how to make cookies is right there!

"Right? Yukinoshita."

Mochizuki threw the topic to Yukinoshita, hoping she would help.

Yukinoshita was still seriously thinking about the reason, but she also heard Mochizuki's words, just reacting a beat slower.

"Well, yes, that makes sense too."

Hearing what both of them said, Yui Yuigahama was not so sad after all.

"However, do you have to give cookies? I think buying some gifts is also quite good!"

"Because I don't know what gift the other person would like. And I happened to be planning to make cookies recently..."

"Oh, then give cookies, no problem at all." Mochizuki said without blushing or his heart skipping a beat, anyway, they weren't for him.

"And you can also make the cookies into nicer shapes, of course, you'll need molds."

"Okay! I understand, Arigato!" Yui Yuigahama nodded heavily.

Yukinoshita seemed to agree with Mochizuki's point of view and didn't say much more.

Next, the task for the three of them was to finish eating the cookies they had made.

Because wasting food is shameful.

Perhaps the two girls didn't have a big appetite, or perhaps they felt there were too many calories in the cookies.

Both girls ate very little.

In the end, the cookies on Yukinoshita's plate disappeared completely, with a large portion of them going into Mochizuki's stomach.

But there were still quite a few of the cookies Yui Yuigahama made left, which caused Yui Yuigahama to look at Mochizuki reproachfully.

Mochizuki could only pretend not to see, rubbing his slightly bloated stomach.

I didn't mean to, I really can't eat anymore.

After cleaning up the mess, the three of them returned to the Service Club.

Yui Yuigahama took her bag and left first, saying she would thank them properly later!

Seeing Yui Yuigahama leave satisfied.

Mochizuki smiled and spoke, feeling a little proud, at least he had played some role.

"So, this request is completed, right?"

"Hmm, barely!"

"Hey, what do you mean barely! This is clearly a happy ending, okay?"

"Because according to my expectation, the cookies still have a lot of room for improvement, they could be made better, more perfect."

"You, you just pursue perfection too much. That will be very tiring."

Seeing that Yukinoshita wasn't responding, Mochizuki also prepared to leave.

He had stayed in the Service Club for so long today, if Shizuka Hiratsuka really asked Yukinoshita about him.

She wouldn't be able to speak ill of him now, right!
