Some time earlier…
Dressrosa Kingdom.
A towering Susanoo, over a hundred meters tall, swept low across the sky, drawing countless eyes upward. The wind it stirred tore through the town, sending lightweight toys tumbling skyward, while women shrieked and clutched at their skirts…
"What is that… a flying giant?!"
People murmured in shock and disbelief.
As one of the world's most famous races, the citizens of Dressrosa were familiar with giants—some had even seen them before. But ordinary giants stood around ten meters tall. The flying colossus overhead was in a different league entirely. Its sheer size was enough to make the mind reel.
Boom! Boom! Boom!... Boom!
On either side of the King's Plateau, Itachi, Shisui, and Fugaku landed one after another. Obito carried Minato onto the plateau and then descended slowly himself, his weight cracking the stone beneath his feet.
The people nearby saw the massive giant approaching and fled without hesitation, terrified of being crushed like insects underfoot.
Knowing that a battle could erupt at any moment behind the palace, Obito and the others made sure to drive away the civilians, occasionally toppling abandoned buildings in the process.
Anyone who saw the towering giants striding toward them, their casual gestures capable of leveling solid structures, didn't dare linger—a panicked stampede ensued.
In the dance hall, the crowd had already vanished in the blink of an eye, leaving only Muyang and White Yaksha behind, cameras in hand, watching the fleeing dancers hoist their skirts and run for dear life.
Meanwhile, in the palace atop the King's Plateau, the Donquixote Family members had also spotted Uchiha Obito and his companions.
By the pool in the royal courtyard, Donquixote Doflamingo lounged on a beach chair, sunglasses gleaming, lazily swirling a glass of wine in his left hand.
The Seven Warlords of the Sea had not yet been summoned, so Doflamingo remained in his Dressrosa palace.
"Doffy," Trebol said, turning to him for instructions.
Doflamingo chuckled, his voice a slow, sinister drawl. "Fuffuffuffu… Pica, the four outside the palace are yours. The two inside—leave them to you, Diamante."
As he spoke, Pica melted soundlessly into the ground. Diamante stood up, about to reply, when Doflamingo suddenly sat forward. He snapped his fingers, and countless threads wove together into a dense, impenetrable black web that enveloped the nearby family members.
The next instant, the Haki-infused web hardened into an iron wall of black steel. A thunderous barrage of explosions erupted outside, pounding against it so violently that even those within winced in pain at the noise.
A few seconds later, the bombardment ceased. Whoever was attacking seemed to have realized they couldn't break through and stopped wasting ammunition.
Doflamingo flicked his hand, dispersing the web, and looked toward the hovering red-and-black cloud-patterned figures. Rage surged through his veins; blood pumped faster, veins bulging across his forehead.
"Fuffuffuffuffu!" Doflamingo's laughter was low and dangerous. "I'm so angry it makes me laugh… Bullet Thread—!"
He thrust out a finger, and a razor-thin line shot forth like a bullet toward the Akatsuki in the sky.
But it never reached its mark.
Nagato had already learned from the earlier attacks that simple projectiles couldn't pierce their defenses. He had been gathering chakra, waiting for the perfect moment. When he saw Doflamingo drop his guard, he unleashed it—
"Shinra Tensei!"
The visible shockwave blasted outward, warping the air as it went, crushing everything in its path.
Doflamingo's bullet threads couldn't withstand the force; they were swallowed and hurled back at him.
Sensing imminent danger, the Donquixote Family scattered in panic.
In an instant, the lavish palace was reduced to rubble. Two-thirds of the King's Plateau collapsed into a massive bowl-shaped crater, clouds of dust billowing high into the air.
Hearing the explosion behind them, Obito and the others immediately knew Nagato had made his move. With the area now cleared of civilians, they turned toward the battlefield.
Obito had barely taken a step when the ground beneath him suddenly bulged upward, forming a massive stone fist nearly twenty meters wide. With an earth-shaking uppercut, it launched Susanoo into the air, cracks spiderwebbing across its armored surface.
Startled, Fugaku drew his blade in a flash. His Susanoo's weapon cleaved cleanly through the stone arm.
But even as it fell, another stone fist erupted from the ground before him, landing another powerful blow that sent Susanoo flying backward again.
The colossal avatar crashed down, shattering several nearby buildings—but as it rose, the cracks along its surface swiftly healed.
An Earth-based Devil Fruit user?
Obito and Fugaku, both familiar with the basics of this world, quickly understood their opponent's power—and how to counter it.
Against someone who could manipulate the ground and burrow like a mole, the last thing you wanted was to stay on the surface.
Luckily, the fully manifested Susanoo could fly.
Whoosh—!
Susanoo kicked off the ground, shooting skyward in a gust of wind.
Two colossal stone arms burst out of the earth, reaching for the airborne Susanoo in an attempt to drag it down—but they were far too slow to catch up.
Obito and Fugaku dodged effortlessly, gliding above their sluggish opponent while scanning for the user's location—but there was no sign of movement below.
Itachi and Shisui, finding no way to expose the burrowed enemy, chose instead to head toward the plateau to assist Lord Minato.
At the plateau's edge, Minato wiped the sweat from his brow.
If he hadn't marked his landing spot with a Flying Thunder God seal earlier, his teammates' attacks might've sent him straight to the hospital.
Having teammates who treat area-of-effect moves as basic attacks is a real occupational hazard…
Whoosh—!
A sharp whistle split the air. A thick, gleaming thread shot forth at incredible speed, slicing across the battlefield straight toward Nagato.
But the Rinnegan granted unparalleled dynamic vision. Nagato sidestepped in time, letting the attack slice past him.
The missed strike struck the ground, carving deep grooves through solid rock as easily as paper.
"Fast… and strong," Nagato muttered, frowning."One hit from that and I'd be out of the fight."
"Let's stay cautious."
As he spoke, the seals on the back of his hand lit up, and six puppet bodies appeared midair, beginning to free-fall toward the ground.
Nagato clapped his hands, summoning his massive bird, and took to the sky to better coordinate his Six Paths puppets.
Meanwhile, Susanoo soared over the shattered plateau, the gust from its wings clearing the dust that shrouded the ruins. It landed at the rim of the great crater.
Itachi and Shisui arrived soon after.
Across the crater, several members of the Donquixote Family stood ready, glaring at their foes.
And within the ruins, Minato blurred through the debris—moving faster than the eye could see.
