Jamm Island.
Sengoku stared at the Den Den Mushi hanging its head with its eyes shut, his expression strange.
A beam of light dropped from the sky beside him and turned into Borsalino.Borsalino looked curiously at Sengoku and asked, "Sengoku-san, your expression is awfully strange~ What happened?"
"Nothing." Sengoku shook his head. "Just some issues at work. But they're already resolved."
Good thing he hadn't written his resignation report yet — otherwise all that effort would've been wasted.
"Ehh~~ So scary."Borsalino's tone was peculiarly drawn-out and dripping with mockery."Even Sengoku-san can make work mistakes."
Crack—
A vein throbbed visibly on Sengoku's temple. He pushed up his black-rimmed glasses."I'm human too. Of course I make mistakes sometimes."
He took a deep breath, forced the anger down, and asked,"You have time to chat with me—are you so free? Did you finish the task I assigned you?"
Half an hour earlier, Borsalino had become a shop member and was assigned by Sengoku to clean up the Big Mom Pirates — a points-farming mission.
"Nooope~" Borsalino shrugged helplessly. "Totto Land's sea area is huge. The Big Mom Pirates are really scattered. There's no way to clean them all up that fast…"
Totto Land was made up of 34 islands. Each island had stationed pirates and chess soldiers. Cleaning the pirates on each island was easy.
But the Big Mom Pirates couldn't possibly stay on those islands all day. They also had to head out to sea—patrol missions, transport missions, other tasks.
Those pirates who drifted in the vast sea, whose positions changed constantly, were the hardest to deal with.
Upon hearing that, Sengoku inhaled deeply. His chest swelled as he roared:
"Then what are you still doing here!? GET TO WORK!!!"
"Sengoku-san is so strict~~"Borsalino teased lightly, and before Sengoku could explode, his body turned into golden light and shoom—shot into the sky, disappearing in an instant.
Sengoku glanced at the hole burnt through the clouds by the light beam. For some reason, he suddenly thought of the White Zetsu clones—maybe because they were also white.
"I wonder if they managed to escape safely."
I hope White Zetsu are fine.(Sengoku makes a praying pose.)
When it came to money, Sengoku prayed very seriously.
So—did White Zetsu actually escape with their lives?
The ones in Marineford had already withdrawn safely—zero casualties.
Elsewhere, the two White Zetsu in Impel Down were still pretending to be Borsalino and Kuzan, organizing the guards to clean up the aftermath—moving injured guards to the infirmary, unconscious guards to the dorms, repairing damaged structures…
As expected, before "Borsalino" (White Zetsu) and "Kuzan" (White Zetsu) arrived with reinforcements, Whitebeard had already defeated Shiryu and Magellan, rescued Ace, and taken along two or three familiar faces.
Thus, the White Zetsu didn't encounter Edward Newgate and survived with no issue.
One crisis was over, but another stood before them: once the Impel Down mess was handled, they would have to return to Marine Headquarters.
But since their cover was already blown, returning to HQ would be like sheep walking into a tiger's den—about a fifty-percent chance of death.
Wait—
Suddenly, the two White Zetsu paused mid-panic, and the same realization hit both of them:
If both of us die heroically… Black Zetsu will probably be thrilled…
After all, during a mission, if a White Zetsu dies, the client must pay compensation—10,000 money per clone.
The two White Zetsu looked at each other, and all their worries vanished.
Tools fear nothing!
Night had fallen.Mary Geoise was quiet and peaceful, as if it had never suffered an attack. But the ruins of shattered buildings and the increased patrols silently revealed the truth.
The Celestial Dragons called themselves the world's nobles, descendants of the creators, self-proclaimed as superior beings. Naturally, they would never accept compromise in clothing, food, housing, or entertainment. They all lived in vast estates—each estate containing mansions, prisons, treasuries, and more.
Large grounds, plenty of servants.
This provided excellent conditions for Obito's group to blend in and hide.
In one of the many estates, the Celestial Dragon who lived there—and a handful of servants who frequently interacted with him—had all been put under Obito's control. The entire estate now belonged to Obito's group.
Inside the Celestial Dragon's bedroom, the nameless Celestial Dragon sat cross-legged in a corner, expression blank, holding a platter of fried rice and spooning it into his mouth one scoop at a time.
At the center of the room, around a table filled with dishes, sat Obito and the others.
"This big bone meat is pretty good." Obito squinted slightly in satisfaction.
Nagato, who had lived through a harsh childhood, never picky with food, nodded."It's delicious."
Itachi, Shisui, and Fugaku nodded as well.Though born in a prestigious clan, they had rarely eaten cuisine comparable to what was on the table now.
Thinking about it, this was normal.
In the Shinobi World, even a daimyo wasn't entirely safe. Danger was everywhere, so most people focused on surviving, not developing culinary arts. Naturally, gourmet food was scarce.
Mary Geoise, however—the headquarters of the World Government—had only faced two real crises in eight hundred years.
One was Fisher Tiger's arson. The other was today's attack a few hours earlier.
With that level of safety—and with Celestial Dragons who would kill a cook if the food tasted bad—fine cuisine naturally flourished here.
Ding ding!Minato tapped his bowl to get everyone's attention.
"Gentlemen, don't just eat. Share your results."
"No real gains. My shadow clone simply ran out of chakra." Fugaku said indifferently while twirling noodles with his fork.
From start to finish, the soldiers in Mary Geoise hadn't managed to break through his Susanoo's defense.
"Who was the strongest you encountered?" Minato pressed.
Fugaku stared blankly at him."We need to remember people who couldn't even break Susanoo?"
Minato: "..."
If they were all small fry, then yes—no point in remembering.
Obito spoke with his mouth full, muffled by meat."Does someone I already finished off count as strong?"
Minato: "..."
Obito-kun, I feel like you're implying something rude.
Nagato cut his steak with a knife and fork."I didn't participate."
Minato: Senior, if you didn't fight, please be quiet. Don't comment.
Shisui raised his fork."I actually ran into a bunch of physical-combat specialists."
He then told Minato about his experience—first being mobbed by a bunch of small taijutsu experts, then by stronger taijutsu experts, and then by an entire group of taijutsu masters who could use two types of Haki.
His shadow clone had expected to run out of chakra…But instead, he was dispersed because a muscular brute punched him hard in the stomach.
