Shikigami are divided into two types: those that are subdued demons and monsters, called traditional Shikigami, and artificially made Artificial Shikigami, referred to as Artificial Shikigami.
The Shikigami that Yoriichi Tsugikuni had slain was a type of Artificial Shikigami, a Standard Artificial Shikigami.
Artificial Shikigami are generally divided into Simple Artificial Shikigami, Standard Artificial Shikigami, and Advanced Artificial Shikigami.
Simple Artificial Shikigami: They lack independent consciousness and require the user to directly manipulate them or pre-set instructions. They can only perform some simple tasks, such as carrying bricks and acting as cannon fodder…
Standard Artificial Shikigami: Semi-autonomous.
Advanced Artificial Shikigami: They can think independently and possess self-awareness.
Among them, Advanced Artificial Shikigami are difficult to manufacture and are very precious; Standard Artificial Shikigami are generally of moderate manufacturing difficulty, and most Onmyoji use this type of Shikigami; Simple Artificial Shikigami are easy to manufacture and simple to make.
As a side note, both Standard Artificial Shikigami and Simple Artificial Shikigami can be mass-produced.
Therefore, Doman Seimei, with his vast resources, didn't really mind losing a Standard Artificial Shikigami. After Yoriichi Tsugikuni explained the reason and apologized, he readily forgave Yoriichi Tsugikuni.
With the misunderstanding resolved, Seimei and Doman Seimei recalled their Shikigami and, after a few polite words, took their leave.
The Demon Slayer Corps also didn't stay any longer, heading to other towns or villages according to their assigned groups.
Kagaya Ubuyashiki didn't choose to accompany any of the groups, instead opting to travel with Mu Yang.
Before dawn, Mu Yang had been accompanying the White Yaksha, wandering around and selecting Demons that caught their eye.
It was dawn.
Rays of morning light pierced the veil of darkness, gradually dispelling the shadows.
The location was Asakusa, inside a mansion.
In a courtyard brimming with falling cherry blossoms, stood a beautiful young woman.
The girl looked very young, perhaps 15 or 16 years old, but her temperament didn't match her appearance. She lacked the youthful vibrancy of a teenager, instead possessing an air of elegance, tranquility, and composure that came from experiencing the world.
Her raven hair was parted in the middle and styled into a large, low bun, secured with a floral hairpin.
The surface of her deep purple kimono was decorated with wavy deep purple branches and crimson flowers, and a beige obi sash was tied around her waist.
The woman, resembling a Yamato Nadeshiko, watched the rising sun, bathed in the morning light. Her eyes flickered, and tears streamed down her cheeks.
"Hmph! How about that?!" White Yaksha puffed out their chest. "I, the great White Yaksha, keep my word. I said I could let you bask in the sunlight without a problem, and I did!"
"Oh——!" As a close friend, Mu Yang was very supportive, gently clapping their hands.
Aside from that, no one else was very enthusiastic.
Kagaya Ubuyashiki held a cup of coarse tea, gazing at the falling cherry blossoms in the courtyard, and sighed, "What a beautiful sight."
How many years had it been since he last saw such a beautiful scene?
Kagaya Ubuyashiki lowered his head and looked at the teacup, recalling his past experiences.
"Lady Tamayo!" Yushiro, his face stiff, handed a handkerchief to Tamayo.
Ah! Lady Tamayo, crying with joy, was so beautiful!
Yushiro's face became even stiffer.
Hakuro raised her hands as if to catch the sunlight, and a joyful smile appeared on her face.
The three of them completely ignored White Yaksha, lost in their own worlds.
The applause gradually faded, and White Yaksha's expression became increasingly awkward.
As if sensing White Yaksha's discomfort, Tamayo turned to face White Yaksha while wiping away her tears with a handkerchief.
"After several centuries, I am very happy to bask in the sunlight. I sincerely thank you," Tamayo said with a smile.
Hearing this, White Yaksha also started to laugh, feeling like they were about to achieve their goal. However...
"Although the conditions you've offered are extremely generous and very tempting... " Tamayo's words of refusal followed, "Please allow me to decline your invitation."
White Yaksha's expression stiffened, and they forced a smile, "W... why?"
"I'm sorry," Tamayo didn't give a reason.
The White Yaksha struggled again, "The conditions are negotiable, consider it again!"
"I'm sorry." Tamayo apologized again, still refusing.
"Alright." The White Yaksha said helplessly, "If you don't want to, you don't want to. I won't force it. I won't take back the gift I gave you. The things I, the White Yaksha, give away, I never thought of taking back."
"But..." Tamayo wanted to say something, but the White Yaksha waved his fan, and Tamayo couldn't speak.
"If you need my help in the future, you can contact me through that fellow." The White Yaksha pointed at Kagaya Ubuyashiki, paused for a moment, and continued, "Of course, it's not without compensation."
"Thank you." Tamayo bowed slightly, expressing her gratitude.
After speaking, the White Yaksha turned and walked towards Mu Yang.
Seeing the White Yaksha approaching, Mu Yang asked, "Are we going to continue looking for other Oni/Demons?"
"Do you think I could find any other demons appealing after meeting Tamayo?" White Yaksha countered.
"So, what are you planning?" Mu Yang asked.
"Return to the Temporal Citadel." White Yaksha indicated he wanted to leave this sorrowful place.
"Alright."
With those words, a flash of light, and Mu Yang, White Yaksha, and Hakuro vanished from the courtyard.
Hearing the conversation between Mu Yang and White Yaksha, Kagaya Ubuyashiki seemed to recall something. He looked at Tamayo and asked, "Would you like to see the Temporal Citadel?"
"Temporal Citadel?" Tamayo pondered for a moment, then replied, "I wouldn't mind taking a look."
"Then let's go." Kagaya Ubuyashiki said. Another flash of light, and the three of them disappeared from the courtyard.
Temporal Citadel, Town of Beginnings.
The Beginning Plaza bustled with activity, a lively scene.
"Anyone want to team up for the Hell Dungeon, Fourth Layer?"
"Are you sure you want to open a ramen shop on the commercial street?"
"Where's Tony Stark's shop?"
"Iruma, Grandpa's taking you shopping, yo~~"
"..."
In an instant, a flood of voices filled her ears. Gazing at the fantastical and bustling scene before her, Tamayo was momentarily stunned.
Yushiro, however, wasn't stunned. His gaze was fixed intently on Tamayo.
Ah! Even the spaced-out Lady Tamayo is beautiful!
Kagaya Ubuyashiki, who had been here once before, also wasn't stunned. He greeted the two of them, waking Tamayo from her daze, and led them towards another transfer gate, heading straight for the Fourth Layer.
Fourth Layer, the edge of a forest.
"Let's choose here!" Kagaya Ubuyashiki squatted down slightly, supporting himself with his hands on his knees, and gasped for breath.
Although various illnesses had been cured, Kagaya Ubuyashiki, who hadn't exercised much, had terrible stamina.
Walking continuously for several hours, even with frequent stops, was a very tiring thing for Kagaya Ubuyashiki.
Looking at the panting Kagaya Ubuyashiki, Tamayo asked, "What do you want to do?"
"Build a Demon Slayer Corps headquarters." Kagaya Ubuyashiki gasped for breath while contacting Yoriichi Tsugikuni.
It wasn't until he needed money to buy land that Kagaya Ubuyashiki remembered he didn't have any.
During their conversation…
