Chapter 192 - The Demons' Actions

Inside the Infinity Castle.

Muzan Kibutsuji recounted the recent intelligence, his expression cold, his tone devoid of any inflection. At first glance, it seemed as though he didn't care at all about the content.

But the reality was quite the opposite. Whether it was the concealed fury in his tone when speaking of Kokushibo's demise, or the fleeting, icy voice when mentioning the Demon Slayer Corps, it all indicated Muzan Kibutsuji's unusual anger.

He was like a volcano on the verge of eruption. Though the surface appeared calm, undercurrents surged beneath, and once unleashed, the eruption would be terrifying.

Therefore, the room was silent. No one dared to speak a word, collectively lowering their heads, fearing to ignite the hidden rage of Muzan Kibutsuji.

Meanwhile, the demons present were also frightened by what Muzan Kibutsuji had said, momentarily unsure of what to say.

Whether it was the defeat of Kokushibo, Upper Rank One, or the ability of humans to use "Blood Demon Art," both were incredibly shocking, or rather, shocking to the demon heart.

Every demon present felt a wave of shock, various emotions surfacing in their hearts, be it fear, battle intent, curiosity, or a complete lack of emotion... a wide range of feelings.

As the progenitor of demons, Muzan Kibutsuji could read the thoughts of all demons. Therefore, he knew exactly what every demon present was thinking at that moment.

He glanced at some of the fearful demons, a hint of disdain flashing in his eyes.

In the past, he might have voiced their thoughts and executed them in front of everyone.

But things were different now. With the enemy being unprecedentedly strong, every combatant on their side was precious. Even if they couldn't be a main combatant, they could still be used as cannon fodder to distract the enemy.

For some reason, two demons suddenly felt a pang in their hearts. How to describe the feeling? It was somewhat like encountering a carnivorous beast when they were human, and the beast's eyes were filled with appetite. Or perhaps it was the oppressive feeling of being a small shrimp, intimidated by a creature at the top of the food chain, causing them to feel terrified.

Thinking of this, the two demons suddenly froze, a hint of realization flashing in their eyes.

The creature at the top of the food chain, wasn't there one present right now?

Having figured this out, the two demons quickly suppressed their inner thoughts, tensed their faces, and avoided revealing any expressions they shouldn't.

Having eliminated the bothersome filth, Muzan Kibutsuji retracted his icy gaze. His emotionless voice echoed once more through the empty room.

"Your mission is to find out why the Demon Slayer Corps is hunting demons, and why those humans can use 'Blood Demon Art'."

"To ensure the mission's success, I authorize you to gather other demons for deployment."

Although demons have a hierarchical structure, none dare to gather a large group of demons and declare themselves leaders.

In Muzan Kibutsuji's eyes, such behavior is almost equivalent to a challenge to his position, a guaranteed death sentence.

Simultaneously, gathering a large group of demons, whether they are stationed in one place or wandering around, would inevitably lead to the disappearance of people due to the demons' consumption. This creates unavoidable traces, making their actions highly conspicuous.

Like the brightest star in the night sky, it would alert the Demon Slayer Corps with absolute certainty. They would track down the demons based on these traces, ultimately leading to a swarm of Demon Slayers to kill them.

"Yes, sir!"

The group of demons were surprised to hear this, but they didn't say anything, lowering their heads in response.

Before the words had even faded, Muzan Kibutsuji waved his hand, signaling Nakime to transport the Twelve... no, rather, the ten Kizuki outside the Infinity Castle.

The sound of a biwa echoed, and the ten Kizuki were sent back to where they had been before entering the Infinity Castle.

In the desolate wilderness, in an uninhabited, barren mountain.

Dry grass covered the ground, and a few short trees stood lonely in the grass.

In front of a short tree, Upper Rank Three, Akaza, stood quietly, his brow slightly furrowed, as if contemplating something.

He had short, peach-colored hair, pale skin, and many dark blue tattoos all over his body. His fingernails were blood red, and he wore a purple-red short shirt, with prayer beads hanging from his ankles.

Suddenly, a cool breeze swept through, causing the branches to sway and rustle.

Akaza clapped his palm, laughing, "I've decided! I won't bother choosing other demons to serve as subordinates. Most of them are just annoying weaklings, and picking them is a hassle. It's better to just go find the strong ones in the Demon Slayer Corps and fight them. If I find someone I like, I'll turn them into a demon. They'll be strong, and pleasing to the eye..."

Saying this, Akaza strode forward, disappearing into the darkness.

A village deep in the mountains...

The night was deep, and everyone was asleep.

The villagers slept peacefully, smiles of happiness on their faces, as if they were dreaming beautiful dreams.

On the deserted streets of the village, Enmu, wearing a black jacket and gray pants with white stripes, walked with a light and cheerful step, a smile plastered on his face.

His dark hair fluttered in the wind, the rose-red tips resembling scattered rose petals. Three large yellow squares and three small yellow squares were carved on each of his cheeks.

"Summon the troops~ Who should I look for? Can't be bothered thinking! Let's find a few more!"

A remote fishing village...

On the edge of the village, inside a dilapidated, unmanned house.

In the corner of the house, a gaudy, ornate pot gently swayed a few times. A monster emerged from the opening. The monster was completely white, with its mouth situated where its eyes should be. Its lips were green, and purple fish fins sprouted from the top of its head. Its eyes were located on its forehead and mouth, with yellow eyeballs. Small arms grew from its head and other areas.

It was Upper Rank Five, the pot demon, Gyokko.

"First, eat. Then, handle business."

Gyokko's gaze pierced through the broken, barred window, towards the dark fishing village.

In a certain town...

The face of Hantengu, resembling a Hannya mask, immediately carried out Muzan Kibutsuji's order, setting off for other towns or villages with the intention of gathering manpower.

In the town where the headquarters of the Eternal Paradise Faith was located…

Doma, dressed in exquisite attire, tapped his cheek lightly with a folding fan, smiling as he said, "What excuse should I use to leave the church? Thinking up excuses is such a hassle! Let's sneak out!"

Thinking thus, he immediately put it into action.

Yoshiwara Pleasure District…

Daki, who was a courtesan, had the same idea as Doma and also decided to sneak out.

Relying on her demon abilities, Daki successfully escaped the Yoshiwara Pleasure District without anyone noticing.

At the same time…

The remaining Lower Rank demons also set off one after another during the night.

Rui, Wakana, and Kamanue all had similar thoughts: if their strength wasn't enough, they would make up for it with numbers, and they absolutely needed to gather a lot of manpower.

With the Upper and Lower Ranks successively taking action, some members and Demon Slayers who had chosen the Twelve Kizuki as their targets, all came up empty.

After all, the location information purchased by the members only indicated where the target was at that moment, and once the target moved, the location information they had previously purchased would become invalid.

If the target kept moving…

Then… please change your target as soon as possible, and don't stubbornly pursue it to the end; that's very costly.

It's very likely that you'll lose both your money and your life.

The money has been spent, but the person hasn't been found!
