Chapter 33 - 3) Rose

Starla pushed the boy on the ground. He fell flat on his behind and raised his hands to block any expected punch thrown. But Starla didn't punch, she just walked and grabbed the basketball instead.

I was amazed, this boy was tall and talked trash as if he was tough. Starla just proved he's soft as cotton, or maybe just soft compared to her. Her mother and father are both rocks after all, so she's most likely going to be savage just like Starlin and Rush.

Starla got angry because the boy talked trash after every shot he made. TaShala found it funny, but Starla crazy ass didn't like that shit. The last shot the boy made was his last before Starla dropped his ass, but with just a push. I don't even think the push was that hard, but obviously it was enough to make the boy piss on himself as he fell on his ass.

"Why you do that to him Star?" TaShala asked Starla who was dribbling the ball.

"He's a bitch boy, always talkin shit." Starla replied. "Get yo punk ass up!"

She's a bully, I smiled a little. She probably gets that bully side from Rush. She looks like Rush and Starlin combined. Her skin tone is in the mix, she's not quite dark as her mother but not light as her father either. Her curly hair is from her father, those eyes are unique though. They aren't the same as Starlin or Rush, they're greenish with different specks of colors.

"Starla, enough." I said softly. "Just chill out. It's just a game."

"Whatever." She rolled her eyes.

"Don't talk to my sister like that." TaShala said, pushing Starla.

"Whatever, I want to go home." Starla threw me the basketball. "Please end this game already."

I knew I wouldn't have long to spend time with these two girls. So I went with them to play basketball today. We've been at it all day, not once have we lost. All the boys said having me on their team was unfair, because I'm clearly older. Starla just tells them to stop bitching and they'll shut up. It's funny, Starla is the youngest at the court. Yet, she bosses these big ass boys around like she's their daddy.

We've been playing basketball all day, I told them when the sun goes down I'm going home. Eventually, they agreed to come home with me when I leave. So we decided to make this our last game. The boys called themselves getting the best three to finally beat us, but unfortunately for them we've got game point. But they're only losing by two points.

"Alright, I'm ready. It's comeback time." The boy said as he finally got up on his feet from Starla's push.

"See, he always talking shit." Starla said disgustingly. "Right here Rose."

I inbounded the ball to Starla, who quickly just shot the ball to the basketball. I love the way she shoots the ball, her dad must've taught her how to play well. TaShala is two years older, but Starla still was better at only thirteen years old. I hope Starlin isn't showing favoritism to his daughter, because my mom would beat his ass.

"That's game bitch!" Starla said as the ball fell threw the basket. "Now go home losers!"

She's a hell of a character. Such a arrogant person, just like her dad. TaShala is humble and smart, just like her mother. The DNA runs through them perfectly.

"Now let's go home, I'm tired of looking at these peasants." Starla said as she grabbed my bag, she tossed it to me then grabbed her bag as well.

TaShala didn't bring a bag, so she just began walking home. We caught up with her shortly though. For some reason, I was stupid enough to leave my phone in Starla's bag. She was playing with it going through my pictures and shit. I'm pretty sure she saw some nudes, but she didn't mention any. I can't tell if Starla is gay or not, but she's definitely questionable. TaShala has a boyfriend apparently, he's sixteen years old. His name is Brian and he plays football, Starla can't stand his ass. But Starla probably can't stand anybody, except TaShala. Those girls love each other, they'll ride with each other until they die with each other.

"Rose aren't you dating the hot guy on the magazine for sexiest man of the year?" TaShala asked.

I didn't know how to answer. I wanted to say yes, badly. But that wouldn't be true, he hates me. I know Darion hates my ass, but I miss him. I miss his touch, I miss his kiss, I miss his presence. His miss the authority that he has. I miss how secure he made me feel.

"No, we broke up." I answered.

"Woah, what the fuck? I thought y'all was getting married!" Starla blurted out.

"Starla, stop being loud." TaShala said with a soft laugh.

TaShala was sweet, like our mom. She looks just like my mom and I, very light skin, light brown eyes, long hair, pink ass lips too. She's going to be sexy, sexier than me I believe.

"But what happened sis?" TaShala asked.

Yet again, I was stuck between rather I should tell the truth or lie. I cheated, but I don't want them thinking cheating is alright. But if I lie, it'll be terrible lying to my sister. I don't think I've ever lied to Genesis and she's not even my real sister. My mom just raised her for awhile until she died. TaShala and I at least have the same mother and blood running through our veins. I shouldn't lie to her, nor my cousin Starla. I basically take her as my sister too, so I decided to tell the truth again.

"I had sex with two chicks." I finally said.

Starla laughed. "Rose you got hoes?"

TaShala pushed her. "Everything isn't a game Star, would you stop being so immature."

"Damn Shay, I'm playing." Starla pushed her back.

"Stop playing, everything isn't playful."

"Oh my God, stop being my damn momma."

"I'm not being your mom, I'm being somebody who loves you."

"Loving me doesn't mean disciplining."

"No, it means caring for you."

"Whatever." She didn't like how TaShala showed that she cared at all, but I personally think she played as Starla's big sister very well.

"Why would you have sex with them?" TaShala asked, bringing her attention back on me.

"We were really close.." I started. "I guess there was a special vibe between us. Plus I was feeling miserable, I thought Darion was being an asshole."

"It was after Jordan?" She said softly, her voice sounding so soft and caring.

"Yes."

"I'm sorry, his loss affected the entire country. It affected the people who loved him personally the most."

"Thanks sis." I smiled, but it didn't last long before I became tearful.

We got back to the house shortly after. Starla went straight into the kitchen when we got in. I guess she's hungry, she should be to be honest. We haven't eaten anything since we left to the court. I stayed in the living room and sat on the couch next to Starlin, who was watching television.

"I hate TV." I said as I took my seat and leaned on his shoulder.

"TV is where I watched one of my closest friends die." He agreed, exactly how I thought he would.

"You guys were like brothers."

"Yeah, we called ourselves that."

"I miss him."

"I know you do babe." He kissed my forehead. "Be strong. No matter what."

My phone rang in her hand, immediately attracting our attention. I watched as Starla looked at the name on my phone and asked me to answer. At least she asked, I expected her to just answer. That's something Starlin would've done.

"Go ahead." I said.

"Hello." Starla answered and paused. "Yes, who is this... Rose, it's Morgan!"

"Toss me the phone." I said, she threw it in the air to me. I eyed it as it came to me and caught it.

"What's up Morgiee?" I said softly, walking away from the living room to speak in private.

"Change of plans." Darion's deep, sexy, masculine voice that I missed so much replied. "Your not going to California, your going to exactly what the fuck I say and do it how I say it."

"Baby.." It came out to soon for me to catch myself, I might regret saying it. "Darion, where's Morgan?"

"I found out about your stupid plan."

"What plan?" I attempted to act dumb.

"The plan Kristian told me about."

"Kristian?" I can't believe Kristian bailed us out, that's bullshit. He's lying, Kristian wouldn't do that. He wouldn't betray me for Darion. "What the hell was Kristian talking about?"

Darion laughed. "Look bitch, I have the power to blow your entire household into pieces and get away with it. Your fucking with the wrong nigga!"

"Fuck you!" I had enough of him, he knew I hated being called a bitch more than anything else he does to me. "You fucking keep calling me a bitch I'll rip your fuckin tongue out and shove it up your ass!"

He chuckled softly. "I find that you think your able to do that very hilarious."

"Did you find it funny when I stabbed your dumbass in the elevator? Because if Jamila and Jaylie didn't save your ass, you wouldn't be alive to find anything humorous right now."

"Come to New York Rose."

"For what?"

"Rose Castro," He sighed. "Your probably wondering why I'm calling you from Morgan's phone."

"I don't even want to know." He probably did something evil, I don't have time for my feelings to be broken. That must've been his way to think he could get me to crack up on everything he says, as if he could hurt me. "Just tell me she's okay."

"I'll explain that when I see you."

"What?"

"Come to New York."

"When?"

"Now."

"Where do you want me to go when I get to New York?"

"I'll be at the airport."

"Just fucking tell me what bullshit are you up to?"

"I'll see you in New York." His voice tone wasn't deep and commanding anymore, it actually softened.

This was like old Darion. Whenever he had bad news, he stalled around it until he could find a better way of telling me. Except I've never allowed it to get very far before I figured he was just hiding something from me. Right now, I'm getting that very same vibe.

"Darion, please just tell me what's going on." I said frustratingly. "Just tell me where Morgan is!"

"She's not here."

"What?" My heart nearly sunk down to my stomach. "Where is she, what the fuck do you mean she's not there?"

"Morgan's gone."
