Subtitle: Razor's Oath: When an Ancient Blade Chooses Its Master
Ray is currently sitting cross-legged on the floor, and his mother is waiting in the corner of the room. The wooden boards beneath him felt cool, absorbing the faint tremors of his breathing, while the quiet room held its breath alongside Diana. She is watching what Ray is up to. He left all the vague information and started to cultivate. She knew Ray has high requirements for his cultivation. And so she waited to see how it goes.
A faint spiritual breeze stirred the air, almost too subtle to notice, but it brushed against Diana's skin like a warning.
All of a sudden Diana felt an ancient aura, and a much more powerful thing came out from inside Ray. The room darkened for a heartbeat as pressure pressed down, dense and suffocating. Seeing the ancient sword that is more powerful than any being she has seen. She wanted to run and save Ray. But Ray only raised his hand to stop his mother from coming near and waited to see what was about to happen.
His gesture was calm, but his eyes carried a silent reassurance that eased her trembling steps.
Ray then asks one last time, "Are you sure?"
The sword started to vibrate in the sky and make a buzz noise using its own aura. The metallic hum resonated through the room, rattling the lanterns and sending a shiver through the walls. As if accepting its fate of losing all its power to become Ray's only sword till he dies. The sword wants to live and die together with the master it chose.
Ray then said, "You will lose all your powers, and you might have to wait a long time for when I ever become powerful. Although you will grow with me, it will be a slow ride."
The sword became impatient and said, "I became jealous because every time you use a sword, you use others, and I want to be there on that journey. I want you to use me instead of those wooden or actual swords that you use to hunt or to train. I want to be part of your journey. I never felt that way with my other masters as much as I did when I felt that this genius that I chose was not using me. So please, I ask of you, master, let me be your personal sword and join you in your journey. I want to train with you, I want to fight all your enemies beside you, and I want to live and die under your control. So please, master, let me join you on your journey."
Its voice, though only Ray could hear it, pulsed with devotion—an ancient pride bowing itself before a young, rising star.
Ray took a deep breath and then said with a nod, "Good! Since you have decided, then come and do not regret what you are about to do."
The sword replied back, "I will face no regret, master. I believe in you. Before I come, master, please give me a name before I join you."
Ray thought for a while, then said, "Razor."
The sword replied back, "Razor! I like it, master. I had many names, but nothing this great. Speed, precision, lethality, sharpness, and easy to remember. Good! From today onward I am Razor."
A soft gleam rippled across the blade, as though it were smiling with its entire spirit.
Diana was watching and hearing what Ray was talking about, but the sword was only replying back to Ray through spiritual connection, and so only Ray could hear it speak. But Diana could see that the sword had chosen to follow Ray. So she didn't say anything.
Her heart, however, pounded with awe and worry—her son was forging a bond with something beyond mortal comprehension.
Then Razor started to lose all its power and then went inside Ray's core and started to merge. Ray, who was sitting cross-legged and already prepared, saw that the sword went inside him. He smiled and said to his mother, looking to the right, "Mother, this might take a month or two, so you can do other things and come watch me from time to time. I am going to cultivate both my spiritual cultivation and soul cultivation. I will also increase my sword force according to Razor. Probably next time I come out of my seclusion, I will be even stronger.
His voice grew softer as the glow of merging energies wrapped around him like a cocoon.
Ray slowly starts to connect his matrix with the sword, and the matrix is helping both Ray and the sword to merge together. It was a slow process, but Ray could feel Razor was merging, but Razor, who was so high-level, started to let go of its awesomeness and spiritual energy at a faster rate. Ray started to cultivate that energy, but it was as if he was cultivating both soul and spiritual cultivation using his infinity cultivation technique that he had created. He is starting to leak that energy.
Radiant streams of essence spiraled outward, crackling like distant thunder.
As Daisy the relic sees this, she quickly starts to seal all the excess energy for Ray to cultivate it in the future.
Ray was relieved to see that and thanked Daisy, but as usual, she tried to act like the system. As if she is an AI. Ray could see that she is a tsundere.
Her pouty tone echoed faintly in his mind, despite the chaos of power swirling around him.
Ray then started to cultivate while the sword was losing all its power and slowly merging with his matrix. Razor can feel that he is becoming one with his master. He is feeling excitement.
Ray could also feel the excitement of Razor as their bond increased. Slowly Ray started to think, what if he could become one with the sword? He has no idea, but he just got an enlightenment, and for that reason his sword force is also increasing drastically.
A sharp clarity pierced his mind like a ray of dawn—an insight that made the world outside fade into irrelevance.
As time went by, Diana noticed that her son got enlightenment, and this will take a long time. So she left slowly and ordered Aunt Mary to not let anyone inside. Mary nodded and guarded the door.
The house felt heavier once the door closed—filled with the hum of cultivation and raw potential.
Time went by as Ray's spiritual cultivation rose from the first Qi stage to the second Qi stage and then to the third Qi stage. And it keeps on rising. Shockingly, his soul cultivation is increasing and is almost at the peak of the 4th iron stage and reaching the 5th iron stage. His sword force is also rising and will reach the late apprentice stage.
Each surge of energy rippled through the room, muting the world outside as though Ray were sitting in the eye of a rising storm.
Diana would come to check and would replenish the resources as the gluttonous Ray finishes his resources at lightning speed. And see that Ray is progressing steadily. She only smiles and leaves. Hoping that Ray would become even stronger when he comes out of his seclusion.
Her smile carried pride, relief, and a mother's quiet hope—her son was walking a path far beyond ordinary, and she could only support him from the shadows.
