Maze 24 Hours
[ㅇㅇ, thank you for the 1,000 KRW donation!]
But why suddenly a 24-hour stream?? Really for us..?
"Ahaha. Well, the thing is…"
Why am I suddenly doing a 24-hour broadcast?
No, it's not all that sudden.
It's been scheduled for about a month now….
"Remember that guitar promise? I couldn't play the full song."
I managed about 90%, but playing the full thing was too much.
And honestly, I couldn't bring myself to practice.
I mean… didn't I already play it enthusiastically during that variety show recording?
Later, I thought—if I just played it in full on my personal stream, wouldn't that lock things in too firmly?
That thought kept popping up, so I couldn't concentrate.
-That's like robbing Peter to pay Paul, lol
-Wasted my hype for nothing
-Still, at least you're keeping your promise
-Fine, let's fill it up
"So, first off, 8 hours will be for sleep."
Saying that, I filled 12 a.m. to 8 a.m. with sleep time.
-???
-Sleep… why sleep?
-You're supposed to do 24 hours straight
-Isn't sleeping on stream banned on Dwitch?
"Eh..? Are you trying to kill me..?"
-What the hell lol
-Sigh…
"I need sleep to keep my energy up. And anyway, the rules changed so it's allowed now."
Of course, I had a long meeting with my manager about this 24-hour stream.
We planned everything out thoroughly, since if I slip up it could cause problems.
-Hmm…
-Okay fine for now
-Let's see you fill it more
Then I filled the morning, lunch, and dinner slots.
"And since I'll be cooking all three meals myself, that takes off about 3 more hours, leaving 13 hours."
-What is this, taxes? Why cut so much?
-Just call it a 13-hour stream then
-Meh
-Lame
I thought it was reasonable, but chat was still raging.
…Should I have just practiced guitar more?
"If I say, 'Come on, cut me some slack, why so many complaints?'—is that pushing it?"
-"Pushing it" lol
-Holy crap hahaha
-At this point I can only laugh
-I admit it, Miro—you're #1 in shamelessness
-If you want a successful stream, you need a thick skin
"Alright then, let's do this."
I pulled out a roulette wheel.
I'd already prepared it, but pretended to be generous.
"Throw in whatever you want. Whatever it lands on, I'll add it to the schedule."
Of course, I wouldn't add anything absurd.
Still, I'd braced myself when making it.
Even if it landed on a horror game or some trash game I hate, I'd grit my teeth and do it.
-Lol nice
-This legit?
-I trust you
-If you're trolling here too, you'll pay for it
"I'm not trolling. Do I look like that kind of person?"
-ehhh…
-Can't really deny it tho
-You're the one who broke trust, right?
…? What did I even do?
Haven't I always streamed honestly?
[Thank you Jang In-Miro for the 10,000 KRW donation!]
But during mealtimes, are you just gonna run off to eat? Abandon the viewers?
"Now, now, I'm not that cruel. Of course I'll do cooking streams and eat on stream."
Since I'm at my parents' place—the kitchen is big and stocked with ingredients—perfect for cooking streams.
I don't have many dishes I can make, but… I can just follow recipes, right?
On the day of the 24-hour stream, Mrs. Jang and Manager Kim will be off on a couple's vacation, fully paid for by their one dutiful daughter.
Which means I'll have the house to myself to stream however I want.
-Lol nice
-So domestic
-You're wife material, Miro!
-Be my wife
-Hand-cam???
Hand-cam, huh… I'd already talked it over with my manager.
They hesitated a little, but in the end, gave the OK.
Knowing me, my manager had no reason to refuse.
"Of course I'll use hand-cam. Got permission."
-Lolol
-The Great Miro
-Seriously? For real?
"What's the big deal about hands?"
Actually, it is a big deal. In my home country, hand-cam is practically always done with gloves on.
But hey, what do I have to hide?
I don't do nail art or special care, but I am that Kim Soo-hyun.
Obviously my hands are pretty—that's just common sense.
Pale, delicate hands, untouched by hard labor.
Sure, I've got some calluses from playing guitar, but they barely show.
-Wow I actually believe you…
-You look different today somehow…
-Taking a break really changed you
-Maybe take another 10 days off lol
"Take another break? Really?"
-You bastard
-Who said that??
-Never said that
-Ban that bug!
"Now, now, don't fight each other."
-You stoked the flames yourself
-This guy's unbelievable lol
"Anyway, I'm collecting roulette candidates. Type them in chat."
At that, the chat poured in like a storm.
Since it'd been a while since my last stream, the viewer count was high, and messages scrolled too fast to read.
"Don't even think about saying 'can't you just use donations instead?' I'll pause chat and read properly."
I dragged the mouse to freeze chat.
Let's see—horror games, rhythm games, long-ass strategy games… basically every kind of game came up.
I added whatever I could catch to the roulette.
[ㅇㅇ, thank you for the 5,000 KRW donation!]
Please do a singing stream.
"Singing?"
-Lolol
-Nice
-Please do it…
-What about song requests?
Singing? Well… I can add it. I already sang once before, so no big deal.
"I'll put it in."
-You're actually adding that??
-Is today special or what?
-Holy crap load the ammo, it's happening lol
"Not everything goes in, so don't get the wrong idea."
It has to at least be something I can actually do.
Things like jumping into the Han River or walking across the entire country—I just ignored nonsense like that.
[ㅇㅇ, thank you for the 1,000 KRW donation!]
Pick a viewer and play a squad with them.
"Wouldn't a random squad be better? I'll make it random."
-Ah
-No
-If I snipe queue, it's fine
"In exchange, I'll throw in random duo as a service too."
Would viewers prefer random squads with higher odds?
Personally, I prefer random duo.
With four people, the chance of having a troll goes way up, so the safer duo is better for me.
[ㅇㅇ, thank you for the 1,000 KRW donation!]
Play some League level grinding.
"Level grinding in LoL?"
Come to think of it, I haven't played in ages.
After becoming a woman, I think I played from time to time, but lately games haven't really appealed to me.
Streaming, singing, and drawing are more fun, so I don't really feel the need.
Still, games are part of streaming, so I can add it in.
"Okay, I'll put it in."
Other requests came in too.
Art stream, Ideal Type World Cup (haven't done that in a while), casual chatting, and quite a few asking me to enable video donos.
Video donos…
That's the feature where viewers send in videos via donations.
It seems risky, though.
What if someone sends something weird and I get suspended?
Still, I went ahead and included it.
"Is this enough now?"
-Nice
-That's a ton lol
-Can you even see all that?
-Please do the singing stream
-Go go
-But how will you split the time?
"Time allocation? That's random too."
I pulled out another roulette wheel.
It ranged from 10 minutes to a maximum of 3 hours.
"First, I spin to decide what I'll do. Then I spin again for the time. Sounds fun, right?"
-Lolol
-This is wild hahaha
-Total roulette stream
"Alright, let's give it a spin."
I skimmed through the roulette's contents: horror game, ARAM 5-stack with viewers, Ideal Type World Cup, LoL level grind, Royal Ground random duo, random squad, singing stream, just resting, video donos, art stream, Ring Fit, strategy games, etc.
I really threw in anything and everything.
Now, my entire 24-hour stream would depend on this wheel.
Thankfully, with meal times in between, I wouldn't get stuck doing 13 hours straight of things I hate.
"Here we go."
And with that, the wheel spun.
My fate was sealed.
Day of the 24-hour stream.
This time, per request from TheSix, the broadcast would be simulcast on YouTube as well.
Apparently, they want me to slowly increase my activity ratio on YouTube.
It makes sense. Twitch has been unstable lately, and if I want to reach any overseas viewers, YouTube is better.
According to my manager, recently I've had some Japanese viewers trickling in.
Probably thanks to that Japanese Vtuber I did a random duo with.
Still, since the language is different, I don't expect huge numbers from it.
More importantly…
I took a deep breath and hit the Start Stream button.
[Miro 24H ON]
No idea how many viewers would show up.
It's the weekend, so maybe more than usual?
But if it blows up too much, it might be overwhelming…
Whatever. This is the mess I made, so I'll just power through.
I waited as viewers started pouring in.
"Uh. Uh."
What?
For the first time ever, I saw the viewer count climbing at a speed I'd never witnessed before.
"W-what the…?"
The numbers were on a different scale.
Not the usual digits I always saw.
Four digits?
Ten thousand?
Ten thousand viewers?!
And that's just on Twitch.
What about YouTube?
"…Ha."
Ten thousand there too.
Combined, twenty thousand.
I let out a disbelieving laugh and glanced at the date.
Today was going to be a historic day.
