As the beast came closer to the careless girl, he felt something unusual stirring inside him. His wolf grew restless, as if it already knew the girl was special . Like the wolf knew something he didn't .
Suddenly , a mouth - watering scent filled his nostrils . Almost like a mix of pumpkin spice and cinnamon .
' Mate ! It's our mate ! ' The wolf said in his head . Their mate ! Finally , after all these years they have found their mate .
This had him running in full speed , shifting into his wolf at some point , just wanting to get to his mate as fast as he can .
Soon , the scent started to become so powerful , making him almost stop running so he could savor the smell , but he couldn't . She was so close .
Then , it all came like a wave . He saw her . All these unknown emotions immediately embraced him , making him feel enhanced in her presence .
She looked like an angel ,human, fragile, humming a soft tune as she gently picked fruits for what seemed to be a pastry .Her skin looked so soft and her petite body only made him feel more dominant .
He just watched .
He just watched her for who knows how
long . Not getting bored for even a second .
He was confused on why she picked so many fruits , but maybe she just really liked them .
He made a mental note to have lots of fruit for her when she's with him .
After a while , she decided to head back . It made her giggle . I knew it was fake . All those rumors about the forest were just rumors . Nothing even happened to me . She thought . Unaware that she was very wrong .
Unaware of the beast wanting to hear that giggle again and again , following her back to town .
He didn't like how that male greeted her . It made the beast want to shred him apart limb by limb and eat him alive .
Only he can touch her ! She's his !
How he helped her with the fruits along with scolding her for going in the forest . Matt thought she went to the store , only to find out she went it the dangerous forests .
How dare he talk to her like that ! These humans don't deserve an angel like her !
I'll tear him apart if he dares to touch what's mine.
The beast thought . He was furious with how the boy scolded his baby .
Shifting back into man form , he hid behind a thick tree a couple meters away from the two close friends .
" I'm sorry , but I really wanted fresh fruits for my pastry and I wanted to see if the forest had any .
" The beast practically melted at the sound of his mate's voice .
"You could have died ! And what's this pastry you keep talking about ? "
And now the beast is all frozen again , with the terrible sound of that boy's voice .
The girl smiled and put a finger in front of her lips . " It's a secret so sshhhh " she said making both of the creatures by her smile , the beast and the boy .
After another few minutes of scolding , the two went back in the bakery to serve the customers , making the beast annoyed on how he can't watch or even see his baby .
Getting an idea , he jogged to a tree that he knew had some back up clothes in it . Putting on the boxers , pants and a shirt , and started to try and create a backstory .
[ i know that back then , men didn't wear this , but this is an AU so deal with it ]

" Could I have a lemon bar with an orange scone for here ? " An elderly woman asked the young female baker . " Of course ! You can sit anywhere and your food should arrive in about 5 minutes ! " The girl said cheerfully .
The old lady nodded with a smile and headed to a back table .
Suddenly , the young girl was confused on why it got so dark . She looked up to see probably the tallest man she . had ever seen .
Obviously not from this town .
She felt some kind of pull towards him , but she brushed that off , still speechless with just his height alone .
She observed his features and found herself looking straight into his gray eyes . His black hair in an undercut curtain . He was probably the most beautiful man she had ever seen .
" Umm , what would you like sir ? " She asked quietly , very intimidated by this man . " I'll just have an apple fritter , it just sucks that your not on the menu pretty lady " this making the poor girl madly blush . " Oh ! Uh , well for here or to go sssir " she felt embarrassed . Her stuttering caught up with her at sir with nothing but the s coming out of her mouth .
" Please , here . " She nodded and he walked to the nearest table and watched her intensely , making her a bit uncomfortable .
Matt watching the whole thing made him furious . Some foreign guy thinking he can come in and try to flirt with the town's gem ! Everyone knew Matt and Y / n were going to end up together some day , so no one bothered to flirt with her even if they were jealous of the dude .
This guy needs to learn his place , the human male A thought , furiously beating the poor cookie batter .
She walked by his table to give the older woman her food , gaining a shiver down her spine when she walked right behind him .
" That will be 3 dun ma'am " Handing her the money , Y / n walked back after thanking her , earning the same shiver down her spine when walking behind the odd male .
He bit his lip as he watched her from the behind .
A few minutes go by and she finally walks over to give him the apple fritter .
" So , anything to recommend me in this town . My grandmother owns a cabin in the woods and I'm currently staying at her house.
She's been out of it for Yo years and I thought to move in for a fresh new start ".
This made the girl less confused with the male , understanding his situation .
" Uh , well just down the street is the park and just go down the five minute hike and you'll see the prettiest meadow you've ever seen . Going on for practically miles with all kinds of flowers . The different colors painting the perfect picture and at sunset it feels like your in another world . But if your not really into that stuff , there is a bar just a few shops down . "
She said getting embarrassed at the end realizing that he is an intimidating male and probably wouldn't enjoy meadows as much as her .
He smiled at her , " Actually , I would love to see that . You wouldn't mind taking me there one day , no ? " Not being I able to refuse she nods shyly .
Even if you said no we would still go my baby .
