The dark clouds in the sky lingered, but even so, Fern still ran out.

To the mountaintop, to practice Magic, to make herself strong, strong enough to no longer be a burden!

"Fern..."

Heiter lay on the bed, looking out the window at the distant mountaintop.

That was where Fern was.

Stubborn Fern was like a stubborn donkey, never giving up until she reached her goal.

Even if she hit a wall, she would just feel she hadn't worked hard enough.

"I'll go find her."

Yulian withdrew his gaze from the gloomy sky and made a decision.

"Please do."

Heiter lowered his head slightly, a smile on his face as always.

Only the faint bitter taste made one ponder.

What everyone thinks about is different at each stage.

Yulian naturally understood the two of them, but he still felt indignant about this behavior of keeping love bottled up and unspoken.

Yulian was a person who dared to love and hate, and cherishing the present was his motto.

"Take an umbrella."

Frieren handed an umbrella over, her beautiful eyes fixed on Yulian.

She seemed to be thinking.

"Okay."

Yulian took the umbrella.

"Flenna, Frieren, I'll leave Heiter to you."

With that, Yulian walked towards the mountaintop against the howling wind without waiting for a response.

"Sir Yulian," Flenna happened to be carrying an iron basin filled with warm water upstairs when she saw Yulian heading out against the strong wind.

A storm was brewing.

By the time Yulian reached the mountaintop, raindrops had already begun to fall from the sky.

Torrential rain in these mountains was always like this.

Starting small and then getting bigger, by the time it was roaring down, climbers would realize it was too late.

"Fern, didn't you say you'd stay with Grandpa Heiter these past few days?"

Yulian's voice arrived before he did, shouting loudly towards the mountaintop ahead, but he received no response.

This child.

Yulian smacked his lips.

If any child dared to do this in his previous life, they would definitely get a beating.

"Zoltraak."

"Zoltraak."

"Zoltraak."

Fern's unique elegant voice came through.

Of course, you don't need to chant to activate Magic, but often people think that as long as they say it out loud, things will succeed.

And that is indeed the case, language has power. Compared to silently working hard, sometimes shouting it out might be better.

The terrifying Magic beams broke through their limits again and again, and once, with an extraordinary performance, they almost touched the edge of the boulder!

"Fern."

"Magic can be practiced anytime."

Yulian sighed.

"Mr. Yulian, why can't I still do it?"

Fern turned back, the drizzling rain wetting her hair, making her look a bit disheveled.

But despite her clearly pitiful appearance, you could distinctly feel that stubborn streak!

"Magic can indeed improve through practice, but that's only for techniques."

"Didn't I tell you?"

Yulian opened the umbrella, stood beside Fern, and gently stroked her head.

"I know you're anxious, but we still have time, don't we?"

Heiter is just sick, he's not dying!

This unlucky child, why won't she listen to the explanation...

Helplessness was written all over Yulian's face.

Although it is indeed somewhat dangerous for an elderly person to get sick, didn't we ask a doctor to examine him?

He'll be fine in a couple of days.

"Mr. Yulian, I know I'm too anxious."

Fern lowered her eyebrows.

"But I don't know what to do, I can't do anything."

Silly child.

Yulian muttered helplessly to himself, and gently took Fern's small hand.

"Let's go, home."

"Heiter is still waiting to eat the food you made."

When the latter half was mentioned, Yulian and Fern couldn't help but shiver slightly.

Because Yulian suddenly remembered the latter half of what Heiter said was "If I die, I won't be able to eat it anymore."

But why did Fern...

Yulian secretly glanced at Fern.

As expected, did Fern accidentally overhear it last time?

Yulian gently sighed.

The two walked back to the wooden house in silence.

Flenna frantically started looking for clothes and boiling hot water for them to bathe and change.

Frieren, on the other hand, quietly fell asleep beside Heiter's bed.

By the time Yulian and Fern came upstairs to see Heiter, Frieren was covered with clothes and quietly sleeping beside Heiter's bed.

"Shh!"

Contrary to Heiter's wrinkled face was a loving smile.

Yulian pursed his lips, smiling and nodding.

It seemed everyone around Frieren was full of love for her, truly enviable.

"I'll go make dinner first."

Fern gestured with her small hands, speaking softly.

Seeing that Heiter had recovered some spirit, Fern's worried expression looked much better.

"I'll go help Fern."

After a moment of envy, Yulian quietly followed Fern downstairs.

"Rumble!"

"Clang!"

A flash of purple lightning suddenly appeared outside, followed by a thunderous roar like the sky collapsing.

Strong wind and heavy rain!

"Heiter."

Frieren woke up, her large eyes staring blankly at Heiter.

"Are you awake, Frieren?"

Heiter smiled faintly, just like the others in the Hero's party.

Heiter was full of doting love for Frieren.

This slow-witted elf needed everyone's care.

This kind elf was also worth everyone's love.

"Mhm," Frieren gently got up, looked out the window, and then gently draped the jacket she was wearing over Heiter.

"Heiter, I had a dream."

"What did you dream of?"

Heiter tightened the jacket around him, a warmth rising in his heart.

"I can't remember clearly."

Frieren lowered her eyebrows.

"I dreamt of Heiter, Himmel, and Eisen."

"But I can't remember clearly."

"Frieren."

Heiter's eyes were deep.

"If you miss everyone, go see them."

"When things are over, go find Eisen."

"There might be a surprise waiting for you from everyone."

In Heiter's eyes there was relief, approval, and... sadness.

"Dinner time~"

The voice arrived before the person.

Rapid footsteps sounded in the stairwell.

Flenna ran into Heiter's room, her face beaming with a happy smile.

"I understand, Heiter."

Frieren nodded gently.

"Huh?"

"Were you talking about something?"

Frieren tilted her head, asking in confusion.

"Hoho—"

"We were thinking of our dear friends."

After Heiter replied, he prepared to get up, but it was clearly a bit difficult.

"Ah, I see. Speaking of which, it seems neither Sir Yulian nor I have any friends."

Flenna bit her finger, and suddenly noticing Heiter's difficulty in getting up, she quickly stepped forward to help him.

"Mr. Heiter, if you need help, you can call me or Miss Frieren."

After helping Heiter stand up, Frieren crossed her arms, puffed out her cheeks, and looked slightly annoyed.

"I thought I could, my apologies."

Heiter smiled bitterly.

"However, Miss Flenna."

Saying this, Heiter raised his voice, his tone firm.

"You and Mr. Yulian certainly have friends."

"Frieren, Fern, and I."

"We are all your friends!"
