The problem was that he had no idea where civilization was located, since the landscape below offered no clues about his position. The hills could be anywhere in the world because grass and trees weren't exactly rare identifiers.
Reidar considered his options and decided to use his summons as scouts.
He still had a handful of Vorathid Sky-Hunters active from the battle, and through the Overmind Consciousness perk, he could see through their eyes and direct their movements. The insects were fast, capable of covering large distances quickly, and they had better senses than he did.
"Spread out," Reidar ordered through the mental link. "Find any sign of human activity. Settlements, roads, barriers—anything."
The Sky-Hunters scattered in every direction and began their search. Reidar kept one eye on their views through the Overmind Consciousness while directing his own mount to continue flying in a slow circle.
The wait was tedious.
