Chapter 14 - 14 - Is the Compatibility Between a Pure Mature Woman and a Gal Girl Bad?

Why was Sato-san here?

That obvious question flashed through my mind, but I was far more panicked about her having witnessed our current situation.

"S-Sato-san, this is..."

Her gaze slid away from my flustered self and landed on Shizuno-san.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Yurina Sato, from the same university department as Morimura Shinta-kun. I deeply apologize for trespassing into your home without permission. You're welcome to report me to the police or whatever."

After delivering this speech, Sato-san bowed deeply.

I could only gape in response.

Meanwhile, Shizuno-san slowly pulled my member out of herself, smiled, and looked at her.

"Could you be the girl who said you had sex with Shinta-kun?"

"Yes, that's me."

Sato-san answered without hesitation.

This was bad. Were we heading for a showdown?

Despite being a man, I found myself utterly flustered.

"Are you angry?"

"No, it can't be helped. After all, Shinta-kun is quite charming."

When Shizuno-san glanced at me, I lowered my face in embarrassment.

"You're... very composed."

Sato-san sounded slightly disappointed.

"Um, Yurina-chan? I was just about to prepare dinner. Would you like to join us?"

"Sh-Shizuno-san?"

I looked at Shizuno-san in mild panic.

"Is that really okay? Inviting the woman who slept with your precious boyfriend to dinner?"

"But meals are more fun with two people than one, and three people than two."

Sato-san glared slightly at the smiling Shizuno-san.

I was sweating bullets.

"...Then I'll take you up on your offer."

Having expected Sato-san to refuse, I was inwardly shaken.

"Okay, just wait a little then."

Shizuno-san headed to the kitchen.

Left alone in the living room, a brief silence fell between us.

The awkwardness felt like it would crush my chest.

"Sorry, Shinta."

Her sudden words made me jump.

"Huh?"

"Interrupting your fun time."

"N-no, I was just... surprised."

"Stalking, trespassing... I'm pretty creepy, huh. Disappointed?"

"Not exactly... I just don't want you to fight with Shizuno-san."

"Fight... huh."

Sato-san propped her cheek on her hand as she watched Shizuno-san cooking.

"You know? Fights only happen between people on the same level."

"Huh?"

"There's no way a fight could happen between me and her."

With that, Sato-san fell silent, staring blankly.

I squirmed in the uncomfortable atmosphere while waiting for Shizuno-san's cooking.

"Here you go."

Shizuno-san brought out the food.

"...Looks delicious."

Sato-san muttered under her breath.

"Thank you. Please eat without holding back."

When Shizuno-san smiled, Sato-san frowned slightly at her again.

"...Thank you for the meal."

Surprisingly proper, Sato-san put her hands together before digging in enthusiastically.

"Yurina-chan, do you live alone?"

"Yes."

"What do you usually do for meals?"

"Eating out with friends. When at home, convenience store bentos since they're easier."

"Oh really? You're welcome to come eat here anytime."

Sato-san's chopsticks froze mid-air.

I stiffened with a piece of fried tofu from the miso soup in my chopsticks.

"...You really are composed, aren't you?"

"Hmm?"

Sato-san stared intently as Shizuno-san tilted her head.

"I'll admit you're a wonderful woman. But you seem more like Shinta's mother than his girlfriend. If you keep spoiling him like this, he'll never grow as a man. He should date girls his own age, like me."

Sato-san declared this so boldly that I panicked.

"You're right, Yurina-chan. Society wouldn't approve of my relationship with Shinta-kun either."

Shizuno-san placed a hand on her chest as she spoke.

"But even so, I love Shinta-kun... as a man."

"Sh-Shizuno-san..."

I was so moved I nearly cried.

"...I see."

Sato-san vigorously shoveled rice, soup, and side dishes into her mouth.

"Thank you for the meal. I should get going now."

She slung her bag over her shoulder and made to leave quickly.

"Yurina-chan."

Shizuno-san stopped her.

"Please come again sometime."

"Are you stupid?"

"Maybe I am."

Shizuno-san covered her mouth as she giggled.

Sato-san exhaled in mild exasperation.

"...The food was delicious."

She gave a slight bow while only turning her face toward us.

"Ah, Sato-san. Should I walk you home?"

I half-rose in a fluster.

"Shinta's being considerate for once. But no need today. See you."

This time, Sato-san truly left.

"She's a good girl, Yurina-chan."

"Yeah, I thought she was scary at first with that gyaru style."

"Do you really want to date someone your own age like Yurina-chan?"

Shizuno-san tilted her head as she asked.

"That question isn't fair. After you just declared your feelings for me like that."

"You're right, I'm sorry."

We smiled at each other.

This simple dinner time felt happier than anything else in the world.
