Chapter 7 - Usual Visit

Early in the morning, Amaryllis took off by their carriage together with his men, bringing 4 boxes of goods.

The Head Butler that is in charge of the house, ask her.

"Where will you go early in the morning, My Dear?"

While Amaryllis maids still adjusting her dress, she replied like in a hurry.

"Just down the street."

-already stepping outside of their gate, she looked back out of a sudden.

"Don't tell Mother." -barely pointing at her Mother's room.

-respectful, the Head Butler said in steady. He lowered himself before Amaryllis continues to ride the Carriage.

Deities don't age well. Hmm...

He smile out of amusement- so subtle it might have been false.

.

Amaryllis and her men, arrive safely without any delay to their route.

She ordered her men to drop them just in front of the doorstep, while the carriages will be park on the sides.

Since, Amaryllis always visits the Orphanage from time to time, something bug her for a moment. Usually the kids whenever they come across a news that someone is visiting the place, in prior of early takes, they always come in prepared.

Amaryllis wonders, she ask herself.

This place looks so gloomy despite of its lovely appearance.

A nun shows up behind the door.

She greets Amaryllis.

"Goodmorning Milady."

"Care if I ask. Where are the children?"

The nun did not reply.

She only crosses her eyes with Amaryllis's, with a smile on her lips.

The nun quietly open the door, revealing a quiet chamber.

"May you come in?"

Amaryllis gracefully accepted it, but she felt on the other hand. In her thoughts- she is always concern towards the Orphanage.

"Kids?"

-As soon as Amaryllis set her foot.

A child- fell on the floor.

"AHHHHHHHH."

-Unknowingly, it is an accident.

Altogether, the children yell because of it.

"What are you doing Delilah?"

"But- Jacob push me."

"No I did not."

"I told you guys to not get cramped in one side."

"Agnes is right."

and the other kids did not continue the argues.

"HAHAHA..." Someone step out of the shadow on a support pillar. "I am sorry in behalf of the children, Miss Benefactor... It is the children's idea after all."

"I don't mind it at all, Priest."

Amaryllis walk towards on the girl that've fell, and bent down to console.

"Are you okay?"

The girl nods, frankly speaking- she is so embarrassed of what had just happen.

"Hey look up to me, hmmm?..."

The child's embarrassment makes it more intense for some reason.

Or maybe she is- deaf?

Amaryllis rose up. Her grace- flows like flower unfolding.

She looks at the child again.

This child-- This creature is so cute!

-Amaryllis patted the child's hair, unwittingly- she gave her a weird smile.

"Don't bully her!"

"Yes that's right!"

-two male child yell at Amaryllis.

Amaryllis eyes softened as she heard it. She let out a quiet sound, similar to a wind brushing through chimes. A flicker of joy, perhaps.

Should I hit these two on the head?

"Edison! Ryan!"

The nun called out the two.

"I am sorry about these two, Milady."

"It is fine... A child is a kid." ~silence~ "If that makes any sense."

Amaryllis clears her throat.

"By the way... I bring toys and clothes to the children again today. To be honest, I think I went overboard again. So just like last month. If things are excessive or too much. Sell them for anything."

"If that's what you want." The nun lowered, and whispers. "Say thank you."

-she suddenly hit the other child on the head.

"Ouch! Why!?"

"Have some sha-"

"That's fine Sister, let them cry."

The priest laughs it over again.

"We maybe wasting your time in here, Milady... Perhaps you want to join for us for some tea in the grass."

"I am honored, Priest."

"Kids... Sister... We'll have something to discuss. Can you watch all of them?"

.

.

.

"Do you have any updates?

While walking in the corridors leading to each and every chambers of the Orphanage. I ask the Priest that is currently on my side.

"Is it-."

"The children, I meant them." Some things are meant to be taken or get to be listen alone. Well, there are guards who were guarding us.

The Priest's eyes glowed for some reason.

I guess changing one's mood are sort of a magical.

He maybe thinking, May god bless you.

He chuckles.

"While you were gone; we celebrated the birthday of the girl that fell earlier. Also David is already taking basic education, here in the school of Maelou."

"Is the kid, happy? I mean David. Is it alright for him to study?"

I'm so bad with names.

The Priest answers hesitantly.

"Well... he isn't getting bully in particular, but- he seems to be lonely altogether... He once said that he is jealous... I didn't know in details, but maybe it's because of. Parent relations."

"I see." Meddling with life is only at that point. "We can't do anything about that then."

"We can file for adoption."

"No... that alone is not sufficient and do not guarantee anything. We can only support the children in this place, until they want to leave the world they grew upon."

I mean, for me personally.

Importantly, I AM.

I can't pamper a being as much as I want, especially if they have consciousness of their own.

Rules were to begin, after all.

"Is that so... Hahahaha. Forgive me."

"It's fine." You should be. "What about the girl?"

"The girl? You mean the one who fell?... Her name is Amellie."

Almost like my open name huh?

"Obviously, you may not know her Milady. Since, she came here last month, after you had left... In addition, she aimlessly walk towards on the doorstep, found by a caretaker here. Muttering a date, or her- birthyear, we think. Sept 25, Sept 25... repeating those."

Pitiful.

"I'm glad that she is now okay."

"Indeed... Unlike her first week. She isn't saying anything other than-" he raise both of his shoulders, twice.

"What about findings?"

"If that is what you mean now. Then answers were inevitable to say the least... We will be forced to shutdown the Orphanage then."

.

Our conversation lasted for more than 3 minutes, until then hearing those words. We already reach the outside without saying anything again.

A guard opens the doors, and finally the grass lands, were already beneath our feet. Not magically saying but it is what I define.

The place were cater properly, and there are things that have been added now too, since my last visit. A small playground, that seemed to be made by the children; I guess.

I mean there's only stacks of boxes under a tree, and two swings tied to each other, of the said tree.

There is also even a small house in the near left.

hahaha. I think that was the children been telling me about. Though it is shabby looking abode, they made it together nevertheless.

"Please... This way, Milady."

Wow... They even commission someone to build a house for gatherings. I'm glad my money is being allocated for good.

Unlike that idiot brother of us.

.

The priest offered me a seat, and poured me a tea.

A simple mint- refreshing tea.

I honestly don't know anything about tea. I like coffee, but- this is still good.

While I'm sipping the tea, the children that was inside earlier, almost looks like- wild animals who gotten escaped in the wild or zoo.

Since there still a guard who were following us.

"Can you prevent them from coming here?"

"As you wish."

As the guard steps down; the Priest handed me 3 papers.

The papers were just about reports of what are the gossips circulating around the place. Since, what can I get in return? Almost other things were already far extending to their capabilities, except purifications, and other holy incantations.

I read the papers one by one...

1) Relentless Poverty... this one cannot be excuse.

2) Refugees... no other details were written except that they came in the neighboring country.

3) Children adoption... Well,....... hmmm. I don't think this is up to me.

Better ask someone for that.

"You made wonderful job again Priest. I should thank you at the least."

"No can do, Milady. But- may I ask something?"

"What is it then?"

".... Who are you exactly?"

"Why you asking that?"

The Priest suddenly became hesitant again.

"Other people, especially the other church are being wary of us since they notice that lots of boxes are being delivered here every month."

"Did they bother you?"

"Ye- No... I don't think so."

"Is that so? I can help you in that manner.... Fret not.. I'm only a wealthy for a reason."

"I see. May we introduce ourselves properly next time again, Milady."

"Sure."

-in a flash.

"Play with us Miss Benefactor."

"Don't push me!"

"Hey!! I got here first."

"No I am!

This brats :) .

"I am sorry, Milady. The kids were rather uncontrollable this time."

"Let them be. :) ." I'm not mad. I should smile comfortably.

"Milady?"

"... Oh... Sorry about that." Hehehe- almost. "Don't fight everyone. Here look, we're already finish here. I'll come in a minute."

Hmmm?

I noticed a kid who were seem- what was her name again?

I look at the Priest, and deliberately pointed at the girl.

-whispering. "Call~ her."

"Who? Ahh- Amellie!"
