Chapter 27:

Illeuid was this close to locking his door, punishment be damned. He had the cartoon mechanic to do so. Of course, making such a gigantic lock disappear was still a work in progress, but he would have a few minutes of peace. Ever since his mother said that he would be trained to gain control of his strange abilities, he had been awoken at the most ungodly hours and forced to undergo drills. He had to avoid getting poisoned or experimented on by Priscilla, being beaten to death by Brakus, and now with Reilard being added to the mix, Illeuid had to learn how to learn about mana control. Something he has always been bad at. These trainings have helped him with discovering more about his other cartoon skills. When Brakus broke his leg, Illeuid was able to wobble his way to his room, his body swinging back and forth like a pendulum while curving into the shape of a 'C'. All while having the sound of warbling metal follow him.

When Priscilla tried to poison him, Illeuid was able to eject his stomach from his body and flee from her presence. His stomach chased right behind him, leaving a bewildered Priscilla in their wake. With Reilard, Illeuid more often than not ended up in the man's lap as the man tried to show him how to regulate his mana flow. Illeuid did not know why his eldest brother even bothered. It was not like Illeuid could ever manage to figure out how to manage the mana circuits in his body. The young boy would just sit glumly while Reilard lectured him on the mechanics and count down the time he would be allowed to return to his room. Illeuid was just bracing himself for the moment his parents would volunteer their valuable time to train him as well. They never cared in any of the lifetimes he had lived, but they seem to be more intrigued now.

Maybe he could pretend to die? Was that a gag he could accomplish now? Did he reach that level yet?

If Illeuid was honest, he preferred to spend time with Reilard. At least the man was trying to be patient to teach him the basics. Priscilla just gained more complaints against him as she complied a list of grievances about how Illeuid's unnatural skills were damaging her lab. Which gave Illeuid a HUGE amount of spiteful glee. He felt that she was just having it easy. This woman literally throw acid in his face in PLENTY of lifetimes. Her lab being out of order did not compare to the pain she subjected him to. With Brakus, the more brawn boy had become more and more aggravated at Illeuid lack of permanent injury. Yes, from Brakus's point of view--and sick enjoyment--Illeuid had gained plenty of scars during his ten years of life while living at the Veilkerhurst residence. Now that it seems he was becoming impervious to permanent wounds? It was obvious the second son was losing his mind.

Illeuid found out he could irk Brakus by blowing him obnoxious animated kisses. It happened when Brakus TRIED to use his old tactic of trying to intimidate Illeuid into submission. Something that was a tried and true method of control for Brakus. Illeuid debated if he should pout or if he should just risk it and head butt Brakus. Illeuid did just recently gain the ability to Zoom! out of the room and he had been itching to use it. Then his system notified him of the Kissy Lips skill. Brakus, dreading the intent behind the youngest Veilkerhurst's grin, asked the boy what he to be so happy about? Illeuid chirpedso outrageous that Brakus could only blink at him in shock.

Illeuid, bouncing on his feet said, "Oh, I just want to blow my very amazing older brother a kiss for encouragement." The look of disgust that crossed Brakus's face was so hilarious it took all of Illeuid's strength not to burst out laughing.

"As if I would allow you the opportunity to--"Brakus started.

"No, look!" Illeuid cut off Brakus by putting his hand to his lips before he pulled it away with and exaggerated Mwah!

Silence filled the air between them. Brakus's face turned a frightening purple while Illeuid freaked out internally trying to see why the skill did not work. It was when Brakus took a threatening step towards Illeuid that the skill came into effect. Brakus's head was thrown back as a large pair of transparent red lips collided with his cheek. Imitating the Mwah sound effect that Illeuid made, the lips pulled away parting to emit laughter as it disappeared. Illeuid stared with his eyes wide. Brakus did not react this time. Instead, he turned and walked away from the younger boy.

This event made the other boy avoid him more often than, making it easier for Illeuid to have a bit of a pause on his daily beatings. Which he was going to enjoy until Brakus's pride remined him that a Veilkerhurst never ran away from ANY challenge. Even if they are ones based off of the entertainment of cartoon mechanics that Illeuid enjoyed from his original world.

Then his mother made an announcement. Illeuid had already become tense when he saw her signature grin. His father also being there for the announcement alerted the young boy that it was going to be something truly dreadful.

"Guess what?" If Lady Reina was anyone other mother, Illeuid was positive that she probably would be bouncing in place. But as she was a Veilkerhurst, her excitement was made shown with the sharpness to her grin and the wicked light that shown in her eyes.

"What?" Illeuid asked cautiously. The sounds of heavy heart beats filled the air. Illeuid felt his face flush as his mother raised an eyebrow. The young boy cleared his throat as he thumped his fist against his sternum, each impact sounding like knocking on a door. The heart beats stopped.

"Can we just have ONE day without this nonsense?" Brakus muttered under his breath. Priscilla just sighed in annoyance. Illeuid felt Reilard pick him up and settle the young boy on his hip.

"Your Uncle Walsten will be here to help with your training!" Lady Reina announced.

Illeuid heard the sounds of a missile falling in his head, landing on the ground and exploding into a mushroom cloud. His eyes rolled in his head, the pupils spinning before everything settled back into place. Illeuid stared at his parents, horror filling his face.

"Just WHAT was that whistling sound?" Priscilla asked, frustration making her lose her composure.

"I'm wondering about the explosion," Brakus said.

Illeuid did not care about their inquiries. He needed to confirm his mother just signed his death certificate. Or at least his long-term bedrest. "No," Illeuid muttered as he went lax against Reilard as if he was going to faint. "Mommy you cannot be serious."

Lady Reina sighed, as if Illeuid's legitimate fear was nothing more than dramatics. "He is the best tutor who can help you with your...newly acquired skills."

"Mommy he'll kill me," Illeuid insisted. Memories of his past lives flashed behind his eyes as he recalled the many different ways this man had tormented him to death. At least when his father killed Illeuid, it was relatively quick. Uncle Walsten on the other hand seemed to get off on hurting Illeuid as creatively as possible. Illeuid did not care if he seemed rude, he was going to insist that his parent send his Uncle back to whatever hell that beast came from.

"Why can't I just train with Brakky," Illeuid whined. "Or even Prissy?"

This is when his father stepped in, his cold glance broking no room for argument. "You WILL attend every session with your uncle and you WILL bring these blasted skills under control through his tutelage. We have been patient allowing your mischief to run amok behind these walls, but it is time for all of that to come to an END."

No one said anything for a while.

Illeuid let out a whimper as tears flowed from his eyes. The flow was not the normal stream of watery tracks down his cheeks. Not, the tears flowed down his face like a heavy flow of water down two spouts and fell to the floor like never ending waterfalls. The boy pressed his face to his hands as he blubbered at the unfairness of it all. Vlaus dismissed all of his children. Each one were relieved to leave his presence, fleeing to their separate activities. Reilard continued to carry the youngest, looking at him wearily as he took in the amount of tears that expelled from his eyes. He handed the boy a handkerchief, which Illeuid took gratefully. He blew into it, the sounds of trumpets filling the air as the fabric momentarily expanded in size before shrinking back to its regular shape. Once the two of them were gone, Lady Reina closed the doors after them.

Vlaus returned to his seat, sitting down heavily. This small action showed how exhausted he had become due to the youngest antics. "With Walsten overseeing his training, there should be no more of these pranks plaguing us."
