Keifer's PoV
Jay walked past me, eyes not quite meeting mine. The sent of lavender trailed behind her, painfully familiar. I shut the door slower than needed, maybe hoping this moment will strech longer, or maybe it was fake. An illusion.
But it was real.
"Is this real" jay asked
I swallowed hard. "You tell me"
She finally turned, and I saw it— the storm she always kept hidden inder the surface. It was still there, just birried under exhaustion. Under the words she wasn't ready to say just yet.
"I didn't comeback for headlines" Jay whispered "I came back for you"
The words hit harder than they should've. My grip on the door knob tightened, like I could wring the pain out of this moment if I held on tight.
"You know always how to drop a bomb" I said quiter than I meant to. My voice rigged like foreign. Like I haven't used it in days and maybe I didn't. Not like this.
Jay stepped further into the room, slowly, like something fragile might shatter just like how my heart shattered the moment I saw her.
"I didn't come to hurt you keif—
"I know" I cut her before anything else would crack "I know you didn't come for apology."
"I came for what I left behind. For you. For us" she said barely above a whisper
Footsteps echoed in a distance. My maneger, stiff in his pressed suit, peaked through the door "we go live in five" he said
Then looked between me and jay "you two good" he asked
"Yes— better than ever" jay replied and I nodded
Two souls, one heart, one obligation, each other, and we were finally together again. Hand in hand walking towards the venue, maneger trailing not far behind us …..we may just lat long enough for us to recover.
Recover our relationship, our moments, our…..child
Just as we entered — reporters surged, questions fired, and in midst of it all I saw her. Shining. Practically ruling. My heart. My empire.
"Ms. Jasper why'd you disappear all of a sudden" a repoter asked
"Is the wedding still on"
"What's going on? Are you guys breaking up"
Question after question firing at her. At us.
Jay gave me look that probably meant 'what wedding' and also mouthed'you are dead' gulp. I am not redy to die I mouthed back
"Yes the wedding is still on….and no we're not breaking up" she emphasised the word wedding in a very deadly manner
"Miss Jasper blah blah blah—' I didn't bother listening to that very long and utterly exhausting question to ask, I get that their curious but this was too much you know, waay too much
"Well yes this gown does have a meaning. It was given to me by keifer himself. This was his mother's…..and it's very special for me" Jay's voice broke through my head
That's when I realised that it meant soo mich to her. That I held a purpose in her life. Love. That's when my reluctance broke.
I hugged her tight and kissed her hard. Right there, infront of media, infront of the Watsons, infront of everyone. But not for show….or any spicy news. This my way. My way of conveying that I love her...…until scientists find the end of the universe.
