As for the story itself, it is heavily inspired by the following:
Monstress by Marjorie Liu, the Cthulhu Mythos, and the Dragon Age series.
The book is also inspired by games, too! Explaining it's very absurd, and stylish descriptions of battles and weapons. The inspirations I drew from are primarily the Bayonetta and Monster Hunter series, but I also drew inspiration from the Dragon Age series—especially Dragon Age: Inquisition, in terms of politics and the factions within the story.
