Lao G was considered a life winner.
After the battle at Dressrosa, he had a wife, inherited the full trust of the Eight Treasure Navy from his grandfather, Green Pepper, and mastered the secret techniques of the Eight Strikes Fist.
Don's eyes followed Lao G as he approached, and his hands twitched with anticipation.
Robin, still under Don's arm, immediately noticed his restless hands.
The surrounding men, seeing Lao G and his group, drew their weapons and circled Don and Robin.
Robin instinctively prepared to fight.
"Leave it to me!"
Don retracted his hands, patted Robin's shoulder reassuringly, and drew his own sword.
Robin nodded, taking a step back.
Lao G and his companions scanned Don and Robin, their eyes settling on Don's drawn sword.
"Who are you? What's your business in Kano Country?"
Lao G raised his sword, studying Don's youthful face. Noticing his young age, he felt he might be overreacting.
"I thought I'd just get a little exercise!"
"Business can wait!"
Don smiled lightly and released his recently awakened Conqueror's Haki.
An invisible pressure rippled outward.
In an instant, all the surrounding pirates collapsed, rolling their eyes from the overwhelming force.
Only Lao G, his brother Bu Wu, and a few high-ranking members of the Eight Treasure Navy remained, drenched in sweat.
The immense pressure rattled their nerves.
"This… this is the old man's…"
Bu Wu wiped sweat from his brow, his eyes wide. Having witnessed Green Pepper's Conqueror's Haki, they immediately recognized the similar aura.
Lao G tightened his grip on his sword, face serious.
Conqueror's Haki.
This boy possessed it—an existence one in a million.
When did the West Blue produce someone like this?
"Attack together!"
Don didn't draw his sword. His gaze fixed on them as he spoke softly.
"Don't get cocky. I'm the vice-pillar of the Eight Treasure Navy."
At his words, a flying axe shot toward Don.
Clang!
Don blocked it with an Armament Haki-infused arm, sending it smashing into a nearby building.
Flashing forward, he appeared before Bu Wu and delivered a sweeping kick that sent the tall man crashing through several houses.
"Heh!"
Seeing his brother hurled aside, Lao G didn't hesitate, swinging his sword at Don.
Before it could fall, Don's foot struck.
Lao G, struck in the abdomen, along with several subordinates, was sent flying.
"Keep up!"
Don called, his figure vanishing and striking again, using the momentum from the first attack.
Weak!
Don shook his head slightly, observing the repeatedly thrown Lao G.
"Don't underestimate me!"
Lao G's sword dug into the ground, leaving a long scar in the stone. His eyes locked on Don as he leapt, Armament Haki enveloping his feet.
He slammed down toward Don with a powerful strike.
"Too weak!"
Don raised his own Haki-infused foot, colliding mid-air with Lao G's strike.
The force made Lao G spin violently and crash hundreds of meters away.
Behind him, Robin watched Don effortlessly annihilate the enemy.
So strong!
At least, against these opponents, Don's overwhelming power was undeniable.
"Damn!"
Lao G rose, shock flashing in his eyes. His legs tingled with pain.
Not only did Don have Conqueror's Haki, but his mastery of Armament Haki was deep.
"Eight Strikes Fist!"
Lao G eased the numbness in his legs, disappearing in a blur toward Don.
The Eight Strikes Fist was the signature technique of the Eight Treasure Navy. Every past leader had made a name for themselves using it.
Combined with Armament Haki, its power was formidable.
His grandfather had once built his reputation using this technique and Haki-enforced spikes on his head.
Though Don was strong, Lao G had no intention of conceding.
With a shout, he transformed his sword and fists into a storm of attacks.
But now, the gap in strength between him and Don was vast.
Perhaps in Dressrosa, he might have compelled Don to take things seriously.
Yet the unique force in Lao G's attacks piqued Don's interest.
Don understood this world had many sophisticated fighting styles—Koushirou Shimotsuki's swordsmanship, Jinbe's Fish-Man Karate—but most pirates fought crude battles forged at sea.
Lao G's attacks had a distinct rhythm, a subtle power flow embedded within.
As Don raised his sword to block, he could sense this hidden strength in every strike.
"Ah"
Suddenly, a towering figure smashed through a building, bringing down twin axes.
Bang!
Lao G, attacking furiously, froze in surprise.
Bu Wu's axes shattered on Don's shoulder.
Crash!
He slammed into the ground, the stone cracking outward, damaging nearby buildings.
Don's foot pressed on Bu Wu's back. The man rolled his eyes and passed out.
"Bastard!"
Lao G, shocked, rushed forward with his sword.
"Wait!"
Don raised his hand, halting him, glancing at his shoulder.
Damn, the clothes were ripped.
Those two axes had cost him nearly 1% of his health—but now it was fully restored.
He'd need to weave Haki into his clothing next time.
Lao G stopped dead, staring at Don.
"You're no match. Go fetch your old man!"
"First, get past me!"
Lao G roared. But before he could finish, a kick to the chest bent his body to its limit and sent him flying out of view.
"Too much talking!"
Don sighed.
People in this world seemed all like this.
"You're too reckless!"
Robin, walking behind, glanced at the scene—the unconscious Bu Wu, the other downed men—her expression one of helplessness.
"We still need to use their ship to leave," she reminded.
"No worries. Pirates usually make up after a fight, right?"
Don waved dismissively.
Robin was left speechless.
Where did he even hear that nonsense?
