He made his way through route 1 looking behind to see the town behind him .
' Ok this is far enough ' he thought bringing out charmander .
Without further delay he brought out charmander. The light died down as charmander was revealed , his bright orange scales , his fire on his tale burned healthy.
Charmander looked around him and taking in where he was before looking up at ash . Ash smiled at him before getting down to charmander's level to not seem intimating .
" Hi charmander I'm your new trainer , I want to become one the strongest trainers in the world and I need your help . So how about it ? if you join me ill help you become one of the best and strongerst charizards in the world " ash promised charmander with a smile .
Charmander's eyes lit up at hearing that . The promise of strength and the kindness in ash's eye's catching charmander's attention . He let out an excited cry accepting ash's offer , his tail lighting up for a few seconds before going back to normal .
Ash smiled happy Charmander accepted him . ' I won't let you down , I'll make sure you get so strong that even champions will gave to worry at just the sight of you ' .
With that he then pulled out his rotom phone and uses to pokedex app to scan charmander ignoring the dex entry and going straight to he's moveset.
Charmander
Gender : Male
Ability : Blaze
Moveset : scratch , ember , growl .
" not a bad moveset , the usual for charmander " ash said after taking a look at everything.
" Char " charmander proudly puffed his chest out feeling proud.
Ash just laughed a little at charmander before putting away the device.
" Well let's get going , we don't want to still be here by afternoon " he decided to leave the starter out as he Wanted to bond with him more .
And so they walked through the route enjoying the rays of the sun . Ash tried to look for any good pokemon to catch but there were only rattata's and pidgey's .
He even tried checking on the radar app but it still didn't show anything special .
' Well this has been a little boring ' he thought this would have gotten more exciting by now .
That thought came to an end when saw someone else stading not far ahead of him .
' finally a trainer ' he thought excitingly .
As he walked to the individual he was spotted by said trainer who suddenly grabbed his pokeball and pointed it out at him .
" Hey how about a battle " he called out with a grin
" 1on 1 " ash said agreed signaling Charmander who ran infront of him ready for battle .
" Alright go rattata " he tossed put his pokeball and with a flash of light out came out said purple pokemon.
" Tata " it cried ready for battle.
" Allright charmander use ember " ash called out taking the offensive.
" Rattata invade with quick attack " his opponent counted.
As charmander shot the attack , rattata followed his trainers orders invaded through the ember before closing in and lading the hit . Charmander stumbled back a little but stood straight . Seeing this got ash to be alert because even if that didn't do a lot of damage he couldn't play this recklessly .
' I'm gonna need to play this out very carefully ' . He thought.
" Use scratch " ash ordered , testing more of rattata's dodging .
" Invade it " the opposing trainer called out.
Charmander's claws glowed as launched forward.
Rattata jumped over charmander dodged the attack and landed behind him .
" now focus energy " his adversary's quickly countered . As rattata was sounded by an orange energy around it's body , ash knew he had to act quickly or this battle would be over before it began .
"Charmander use ember " rattata use of focus energy ment dodging would be difficult .
Charmander after taking aim launched the ember . It flew at rattata hitting the purple pokemon sending it back a little .
" Alright charmander great job let's keep it rolling " ash cheered at charmander .
Excited by his trainers cheering Charmander became even more determined to win .
" were not going to let one attack stop us are we rattata ? Quick attack ! " His opponent called .
Rattata with a glow , shot foward with speed . But ash was ready for him this time.
" scratch ! Don't let him land that hit ". Ash ordered quickly.
" char " Charmander just like his trainer didn't want to waste his the chance at getting another hit acted quickly . as rattata zoomed forward charmander's claws glowed before he landed the attack at the chest of rattata seconds as it was in mid-air before the quick attack could hit him .
" Ra " rattata cried at the hit and stumbled back .
" now finish the battle with ember " ash called out excitingly , victory was in his grasp .
" rattata Dodge it " the other trainer cried out desperately. But rattata hadn't recovered from the last attack as it was still getting up .
Charmander fired the ember as launched through the air before it hit rattata knocking the pokemon back as it fell down on the ground fainted.
" Yes ! " ash shouted , celebrating his first victory .
" Char " charmander cheered , just as excited as his trainer .
Meanwhile his opponent sighed getting down to rattata's level . " Fantastic job out there rattata I'm proud of you " he told his pokemon .
" Hey great battle out . we would have lost if we didn't take things seriously " ash told him giving him and hand shake .
" Thanks , your just as strong as the other guy that i battled before . He came from pallet town to " he said bringing rattata back to his pokeball .
That caught ash's attention . " did this guy have a squirtle ? " he asked his curiously.
" Yeah do you know him ? " he questioned . They were from the same town after all.
" yeah he is my rival ,we just got our starters today " ask told him . This meant gary has already went through here .
" Really ? well that makes sence with how you beat me on your first battle " . The boy said sheepishly.
It then came to ash that he didn't even know his name . ' Wow that's embarrassing ' .
" Hey I didn't even ask but what's your name ? " Ash asked .
" my name ? It's joey " the boy smiled .
After that they said good bye to each other . the battle they had revealed things to ash on how improve and help charmander to get stronger .

( safari zone )
He walked through the field ignoring all the pokemon that came into view as he was on a mission .
He had been sent here because of strange things that had been going on lately . The warden of the safari zone was found lying unconscious , a herd of tauros had gone missing and a massive wave of psychic energy had been detected.
The warden was taken away by league medical care but it was unknown if he was going to make it .
So far he couldn't find anything regarding the missing herd so far . No border fence was broken , no vehicle tracks , it's like they disappeared in thin air .
" There has to be a clue " he was thinking it might have had something to do with psychic energy the detectors senced but no psychic could release power that strong.
There are other herds of tauros in safari zone as a whole but the ones in this area have just vanished with no explanation .
" i told professor oak i might be late , but something tells me I'm not making it to the meeting at all " lance sighed .
He grabbed a device from his belt
" yeah it's me " he spoke through the device .
" hey did you find anything ? " A loud male voice said on the other end .
" no , just tauros tracks and nothing else " lance said looking around to make sure he didn't miss anything clue.
" well that sucks , hows the warden ? "
" I had to had to call medic's to take him , he's alive but unconscious. Don't know when he's going to wake up though " lance had found him when he arrived in the same area the tauros went missing .
" there was no one around when i got here so whoever did this must have left before I arrived " something told the champion that this wasn't random poachers.
" damn ! so we gave nothing ? " the voice on the other side cursed.
" yeah I'm afraid so " they have to get to the bottom of this before more incidents happens.
" well I just hope they aren't involved in this " at hearing that caused lance to freeze, no they couldn't be involved . They have been gone for years at the arrest and death of there boss , the woman died with no regrets and the organization have never returned since.
" I'll call you when I have something " he couldn't make a statement until he had evidence , he'll have to close the safari zone until then.
" yeah ok " the voice said before the conversation ended .
There was some unsettling about this , and he had to get to the bottom of it fast before it showed it's ugly head .

" now end it with scratch " ash ordered .
Charmander launched forward claws glowing to the pidgey that fallen to the ground after getting hit by an ember .
" no , pidgey use sand attack " the girl shouted but it was no use as charmander had alread closed the distance and landed the attack .
And just like that , pidgey was down for the count .
The girl signed as she returned her fainted pidgey the it's pokeball.
" Your strong " she said .
" Thanks your not half bad " he replied.
They both shook hands before going there serrated ways .
Ash smiled as he walked with charmander by his side . Ever since they beat that one trainer with the rattata they have improving there flaws .
Fighting every pokemon they come across for training be it wild pokemon or trainers. He left the spearows alone though , they weren't worth it even if he didn't find that many .
Charmander had learnt smokescreen after a few battles and ash had made him try and perfect it every chance he got whenever he wasn't in battle.
They were making progress and would nearly make it to viridian city soon .
All and all things were going pretty well . Charmander was getting stronger with each battle, they hadn't lost a single time and things were looking up . He only wished he caught a pokemon but there was nothing around but pidgey's and rattata's , he wanted to catch something else , something unique .
But there nothing around that caught his interest , only the same old pokemon .
He sighed and continued walking , hopping to least catch a glimpse of an interesting pokemon.
Ash was so lost in his thoughts and charmander not being the most focused one , neither of them noticed the wind starting to increase little by little.
As he continued to make his way to viridian city he decided to check on charmander again , taking out his rotom phone as he scanned his starter .
Charmander
Gender : Male
Ability : Blaze
Moveset : scatch , growl , ember , smokescreen .
Ash knew they were gonna need to improve his moveset if when facing more defensive pokemon or catch another pokemon.
He disided take a look at the poke radar again .
As he switched the app on , it began to scan the area trying to pick up on any pokemon that was around showing them on the screen.
There were mostly the same pokemon as he always saw except for one that caught ash's attention immediately as it wasn't one you normally saw even in locations they were common in.
" it's an Abra " he whispered .
He immediately banished away the tired expression on his face. This was fantastic ! .
Sure abra sleep 8 hours a day and mostly know only teleport but when they get stronger they are a real powerhouse to the team . Professor oaks Alakazam were proof of that .
' If I can catch it ' thought grimly.
He tried to find the psychic pokemon , moving to the location it showed on the radar .
After a minute of walking , he found it .
' there it is ' he thought excitingly.
It was all alone sleeping there in the fields. So quietly and peacefully. His rotom phone was brought out of his pocket and scanned the pokemon in front of him .
Abra the psi pokemon
There psychic powers use up a lot of energy so they sleep because of the strain it takes on there bodies, but because they can get attacked while there asleep they are surrounded by a telepathic radar that teleports them away when they are attacked by someone when sleeping , the deeper they sleep the further they teleport.
" I have be carefull if I make one wrong move not only will it make catching Abra harder but it might teleport away all together " ash thought .
" Sorry charmander but i can't risk abra escaping so no battling , but be ready just in case " ash told his starter . Abra teleport further away the deeper they sleep , so maybe even if it escapes the pokeball being awake might limit it's teleportation ?
Charmander was sad at not getting to battle but became ready if the opponent broke free of the pokeball.
' I can't waste this chance ' ash thought . Grabbing his pokeball from his hands he took aim very carefully.
before throwing it . The ball zoomed through the air. They were out of abra's Telepathy radar and the pokeball shouldn't be detected.
It hit the abra before opening up and bringing the pokemon inside . As it fell to the ground , it began to rock back and fouth trying to capture abra before it came to stop with a satisfying ' ding ' sound .
" yes ! " Ash yelled loudly excitement surging through him , Charmander also celebrated with his trainer. even if he never got to battle at least it was still a victory .
' i got an abra ! Sure , I'm gonna need to balance his sleeping hours and teach him an actual attack but with enough hard work and training he might carry the team .' Now to check on abra .
Abra
Gender : female
Ability : inner focus
Moveset : teleport , confusion .
" and abra already knows an attack , this is fantastic " ash cheered even more at the information . With abra knowing an attack this made things MUCH easier . Tm's were not easy to get.
He looked down at the pokeball in his hands holding there hopefully new team member with a smile on his face .
' I caught an abra '
But the celebration was caught short as a massive shadow suddenly blocked the sun .
Ash looked up in surprise as the entire sky had completely turned dark with strong winds started to pick up .
It wasn't just grey clouds . The sky itself had gone black with the sunder storm appearing out of nowhere . All pokemon that had been seen had disappeared .
Ash looked at Charmander who was nervous . The normally excited and cheerful pokemon looked on egde almost afraid.
He was suddenly brought out of his thoughts by the sound of thunder as lightning eliminated the area .
" Allright not staying here any long let's go charmander " ash said putting abra's pokeball away as he signaling his starter to start moving.
They moved quickly. hurrying as much as possible to viridian city , luckily it wasn't that far from where they are now.
he could almost see the city from here.
As they hurriedly made there way to the city , he looked back at charmander , feeling bad for putting his pokemon in stress he decided it was probably best to return him to his pokeball.
" sorry buddy , but this way we can reach the viridian faster " ash said returning his starter . Now charmander was safe at least .
But as he was running , lightning suddenly striked not far in front of him .the flash from the bolt was so bright it forces him to temporarily stop shielding eyes .
" THIS IS CRAZY THE WEATHER DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT RAIN , LET ALONE A HURRICANE ! " ash shouted through the storm .
But his attention was stolen by a immense blue light that shone from above . And in that momment all his sence of anger and fear was completely overwhelmed by one sheer presence .

Professor oak who was just finishing talking to a colleague of his in johto but had to cut his call short .
A look of confusion and worry appeared on his face as he looked outside a nearby window , a bad feeling creeping up his slime .
" there's something about this storm that's not right " it didn't feel like normal . And the fact that it just appeared with weather institutions not being able to predict it made it even more unsettling.
' that's because it's NOT a normal storm ' someone spoke to him in his head .
Recognizing the owner of the voice Professor oak was snapped out of his thoughts .
A shimmer of light flashed next to him before his Alakazam teleported into the room.
He surprised by the appearance of the pokemon as he normally wasn't very social unless he needed to be .
But back to the task at hand
" what do you mean it's not normal ? " he asked confused at what his pokemon ment by that .
' this storm has an immense power controlling it , the cloud , the wind and the lighting is not natural ' .
" Not natural ? " professor oak seemed confused about what he said before he froze as a thought came to his mind .
" a legendary ! " oak said in shock. No it couldn't be .
Legendary pokemon were pokemon of immense power . There not your usual normal pets or partners and they normally stay away from humans with good reasons.
There very presence can alter not just the weather but the very environment they lived in . The sight of one could translated as anything from an good omen or a disaster.
Like seeing the legendary beasts that roam johto , or how one of his relatives in alola told him about the time tapu bull - one of alola's island gardians - was enraged that they built a super market on sacred grounds and destroyed it in a fit of rage .
And that's not even mentioning idiot stories of people trying to catch them through crazy and stupid methods like using a pokemon with type advantage or trying gang up on them with numbers only to end up injuried , dead and lauphed at by the world .
Legendaries were not to be toyed with and if you think you can capture a pokemon who's very presence can freeze the surrounding ocean and reduce a spring forest to a winter forest than good luck .
" is it zapdos ? " he asked in a bearly audible whisper.
' no the storm may have immense power but it doesn't feel like zapdos '
This confused oak as he watched around the lab as pokemon of all sizes were panicking because of the effects of the storm .
" but if it's not zapdos than what is it ? " there weren't that many legendaries in kanto .
He looked outside at the now darkened sky a worried expression on his face .
" Ash be safe "

Ash knew powerful pokemon , he had met the professors dragonite and nidoking .
But the pokemon he was looking at was beyond them . It's sheer presence alone was felt in his body and soul . This wasn't a normal storm .
Lighting flashed as the light illuminated the silhouette in the clouds as they swirled like a hurricane . He was so paralyzed by entity in front of him that he almost couldn't move , afraid it would strike him down if he even tried to run .
' so you are the one I sensed . you are a little bit younger than I expected but time will tell how much you grow ' . It spoke to him .
Ash couldn't tell if it talked to him directly or in his head . What did it want with him , he just wanted to go on his journey be a trainer like everyone else what was wrong with that ?
As he was questioning the situation the entity up in the clouds was about to receive a visitor.

He looked down at the boy that had caught his attention . He had traveled far to get here and even though the boy was to inexperienced right now , he had waited for years he could wait for a few more.
Just then he senced a figure approaching . It wasn't another human trying rescue the boy or trying to investigate what was happening but rather ho-oh .
' zekrom what are you doing here in kanto ? I thought you were still dormant in unova .' Ho-oh said confused at why he was in kanto.
' I was awakened , but the young man that awakened me did not Match the proper ideals to be my chosen and after I denied him the ones with him made the foolish choice to attack me , and so after I laid waisted to them I came here where I senced where my true chosen is even if took a while '
He told the johto legendary.
This surprised ho-oh as the chosen one of ideals was from kanto , and it was the same one that she had senced .
' while I am not judging you on your choice ,I think you should wait until he is more prepared ' looking at the boy now she felt bad him .
' yes he is not ready but this will help me see how he let's this shape him into what trainer he'll be for the future . Zekrom said also looking at the trainer below them struggling in the storm .
' agreed although I didn't expect the pure soul I senced to be your chosen , but I guess that makes sence ' ho oh told him . It was a surprise but not a bad one .
Thus caused zekrom to look at ho-oh in surprise
' really ? Well that makes him even more special than , I will be watching you closely ash ketchum ' he said before looking at ho-oh with suspicious look . ' I hope that won't be a problem '
Ho-oh however didn't look worried .
' no problem at all but I can't speak for lugia '
Ho-oh just knew these two will get an argument over this .
Zekroms eyes narrowed at that .' lugia can wait like I have ' .
' as long as you do not fight over this and resolve it peacefully . But for now I think I will give him some hope for the future ' . Said ho-oh her whole body glowed.
Zekrom looked at his at the boy one last time. ' good bye for now chosen and i look forward to seeing how strong you have gotten the next time we meet ' .

Ash who had no idea about the legendaries talking about him just tried to withstand the storm in what felt like forever.
He couldn't tell where to go any more with how the presence of the being and the winds made it hard to probably navigate.
It seemed to go on forever until eventually the rumble of thunder stopped , the flash of lightning became dim and the dark clouds cleared .
And just like that , the storm cleared.
Gone , like it was never there in the first place . The sky was blue , the sun felt warm and the day was back to normal .
Ash felt speechless as he stood there in the middle of the field in shock. One momment he stood it felt like the world was ending and the next moment *poof* the sun was shining , white clouds filled the sky and he was standing here like an idiot.
'How ? ' he whispered.
But before he could ask more a cry caught his ears causing him look up .
And when he did his eyes widened in shock .it was a pokemon, but not just any pidgeot or fearow but a pokemon he had only heard about it in stories and books .
It was ho-oh , THE ho-oh .
ash was seriously questioning if he was awake or even alive at the momment , maybe he go hit by lightning and fell unconscious or something.
But the sheer feeling he got from ho-oh's presence made it clear he was awake . If the storm had him scared and overwhelmed , this engulfed him in hope and confidence.
He was snapped out of his shock when he felt something in his pocket , it was his rotom phone .
It flew out of his pocket with it's screen lighting up.
Two pokemon scanned .it said showing two different pictures of the pokemon it scanned.
it made sence to scanned ho-oh but what about the storm ? He clicked the first picture , it showed a black pokemon dragon with two pairs of wings and a cone like tail .
Zekrom
This legendary pokemon comes from the unova region . It is said to have been part of a bigger dragon but was split apart after the two brothers who the dragon aided had an argument which led the dragon to be split apart into three . Zekrom is said to fly around in a cloud of lightning in seach of it's chosen of ideals.
The info on the Dex made him suddenly feel light headed . The feeling in his legs got weaker as he immediately felt like he was having trouble breathing.
A legendary
from another region no less !
What was it doing in kanto ? The information on it said it flew around the region looking for it's chosen of ideals . Then why did it appear here on this random route ?
He entertained the thought of zekrom being here for him , but that was laughable. Legendary pokemon were not normal pokemon that you just find in a patch of grass . They were beings of great power and wisdom .
' and besides if they did pick a chosen it would probably someone like lance , the strongest trainer in both kanto AND johto '. The guy stuck fear in both criminals and some civilians with a team of champion level dragons and it didn't help that he was the best in two regions.
' or leon , the guy that sweeps through veteran trainers teams like there noobs . I don't think he has ever lost a match in life.' That guy was crazy .
He had now calmed down as he realized that despite coming close to death he was still alive and zekrom was probably passing by ...in kanto .....on some pathway newbie trainers take when they begin there first day as a trainer.....yep nothing strange .
Trying to calm hid nerves he looked over at ho-oh's dex to get a happier feeling .
Ho-oh
It is said that whoever see's this pokemon will be granted eternal happiness. It is said that this pokemon only reveals it self to pure hearted trainers and has the power to bring people and pokemon back to life as it once did with raikou, entai and suicune.
' pure hearted trainer ? Eternal happiness ? Me ? ' this left him even further confused. What did ho-oh see in him ?
Deciding to put an end to this for now as he needed to get to the viridian city .
He took one last look at ho-oh who was still in visible distance as his rotom phone snapped pictures like crazy .
The golden light shinning of it's body and rainbows trailed off behind as it flew away over the horizon.
Ash watched until fully ho-oh disappeared .
" you know I'm pretty sure even with the pictures I took , nobody is going to believe me " he said looking at them .
They were good and believable but there were some people that wouldn't believe it even if ho-oh told them itself.
" Well time to get a move on " he said as he continued walking .
But as he did , he noticed something bright failing from the sky. As he reached out and and grabbed it , he noticed it was a golden feather .
' it's one of ho-oh's feathers ' he said completely shocked.
He had to keep it safe . People would kill for this , and the fact that he had just started as a trainer would be like taking candy from a baby .
He put it away in his pocket , before he started walking .
