Chapter 22 - The first interviews

"Magic?! Are you telling me that magic exists, Jack?"

Said Stella as she leaned over the table to get closer to Jack.

"Yes… now please, Stella, sit down on the chair, I don't want you to mess up the clues we have."

Said while avoiding looking at the V-neck that was very close to his eyes.

"Ah, sorry, I got carried away with the situation. Now, seriously speaking, if something supernatural is involved in this case, it's no wonder most of the detectives gave up working on it."

"I almost gave up after Everton's death, but I have to catch this criminal or more people will suffer."

"Everton must have been a great friend of yours. Don't worry, Jack, for years I've trained lots of martial arts and studied to get here. I believe I'll be able to keep up with you when necessary."

Says while holding his hands, cold as snow.

"Well, shall we go to the first witnesses' house? We have a lot of interviews to do today."

Said Jack

"Yes, let's go!"

Minutes later both Jack and Stella were inside of a medium stone house from a small family.

"So, to start, I'd like your wife and children to go to another room. We will interview you and your wife one at a time."

Says Jack to the mid-age man.

"Alright, sweetheart please take the children to the kitchen and wait for me until I finish."

After about 30 minutes of questions and conversation about the most recent murder with the man and his wife, Stella whispered in Jack's ear.

"I think that's enough; it seems they really don't know anything about it"

"Alright thank you very much that's all we had to ask. Have a good day."

"Bye!! And sir…"

Said the man to Jack before he left through the door.

"Yes sir?"

"You two look good together; I think you should take advantage of it, ahaha."

"Oh! Really? Ahaha."

Jack replied, embarrassed.

Leaving the house, Jack and Stella continued interviewing the local residents, even though they didn't get the slightest clue. That only stopped until they reached a house located in a poor area of the city, an area where some murders from this same case had occurred in the past.
