Two days before the clash between Fairy Tail and Phantom Lord, before Kira and the others set out for Zonia…
The guild was as lively as ever. The boozehounds were chugging away, the chain-smokers were puffing, the artists were sketching, and the studious types were buried in their books.
And, of course, the two lovebirds who were always scheming to take their relationship to the next level were huddled together, chatting and giggling.
Alzack and Bisca sat across from each other, stealing shy glances. Every few seconds, they'd whisper something sweet, then blush like they'd just tasted honey, their hearts all aflutter.
Bisca Connell, an immigrant from the Western Continent, rocked long green hair and a cowboy hat, her lips painted bright red. She wore a simple top that showed off her toned abs, layered with a long coat, giving her a wild, untamed vibe.
Years ago, when she first arrived in Ishgar, she was a troublemaking delinquent. Broke and unfamiliar with the land, she stirred up trouble under Fairy Tail's name, pulling scams and even thieving. Her magic, "The Gunner," was a requip-style ability centered on firearms, paired with pinpoint accuracy that made her a sharpshooter. But against Erza? She didn't stand a chance.
After Erza defeated her, she invited Bisca to join the guild. That's when she met Alzack, another Western Continent immigrant. Sparks flew instantly, and they'd been mutually pining for years.
Alzack's magic, "Gunshot," let him load his guns with magic bullets of different attack types.
Both from the Western Continent, with magic that complemented each other like guns and ammo, they were practically made for each other.
They knew they liked each other. The whole guild knew they liked each other. Heck, they knew the guild knew they liked each other.
But these two just wouldn't say it outright, driving everyone crazy. Whenever they got all shy and flustered together, the older guys like Wakaba and Macao would grin like proud aunties, eating it up despite how goofy it looked.
Facing his crush, Alzack fumbled, "Uh… Kira just gave me two movie tickets for tomorrow. I was wondering… do you maybe have time…?"
Bisca blushed, "Oh… really? Well, since it's a gift from Kira, it'd be rude to say no…"
That was a yes! Alzack mentally fist-pumped, Yes!
With their date set for the next day, both were buzzing with excitement and nerves, eagerly awaiting tomorrow.
Not far off, Kira watched the lovebirds spreading their mushy vibes, fuming internally. "Ugh, the stench of romance!"
Loke, noticing Kira' glare, sidled up with a tease. "What's up? Jealous? If you want, I can hook you up with a girlfriend. I've got plenty of cute friends who'd be down."
Kira' face darkened. "Only you could shamelessly talk about 'my flock of girlfriends' in this guild…"
"Come on, shouldn't love be about one person at a time?" Kira shot Loke a look, gesturing at the couple. "Bisca and Alzack only have eyes for each other, Cana's only got eyes for booze, I'm only into money—how's it just you who's…"
"What's wrong with me? I'm loyal too—to young, pretty girls!" Loke grinned.
Kira blinked. Okay, that logic's airtight. Can't argue with that. "Tch, you sleazy jerk are rewriting my worldview."
"So what's got you so mad?" Loke asked.
Kira clenched his right fist, wrapping his left hand around it, squeezing hard. "It's Bisca! She ordered a batch of custom bullets from me, then two days ago, she canceled it!"
Loke glanced at Bisca, who was cozying up to Alzack, and thought, Girl, you're dating up a storm and still managed to tick off Kira over money? That's a bold move…
Clearing his throat, Loke tried to smooth things over. "You're this mad over a canceled order? Come on, it's not that serious."
"Oh, I hadn't even started making them yet."
"Uh… then why are you so pissed?"
Kira snapped, "Hey, that's a whole deal I lost! That's a ton of cash! And worst of all, I got betrayed by a guildmate!"
"Betrayed? You're just salty you lost a sale!" Loke sweatdropped, then reconsidered. "Wait, no, you're just looking for an excuse to mess with someone, aren't you?"
Kira slammed the table. "You calling me that kind of guy?"
You totally are!
Loke thought it but didn't dare say it.
"Did she at least say why she canceled?" Loke asked. "Were you slacking and taking too long to deliver?"
"That's the part that ticks me off!" Kira smacked the table again. "When I asked why, she had the nerve to say, 'Alzack's gonna load my bullets from now on, so I don't need yours!'"
"Listen to that! A girl saying something that embarrassing! Even I blushed hearing it!"
Loke, lost in thought, smirked mysteriously, his cheeks faintly red—an unusual sight for a seasoned flirt like him.
After a pause, he said, "Embarrassing? I think she meant actual bullets."
"What? Those are Alzack's bullets. No way they're just regular bullets!" Kira gave Loke a weird look. "You forgetting? His magic makes all kinds of special bullets for magic attacks. Way better than plain lead!"
Loke froze for a second, then exhaled. "Oh, those bullets. Yeah, that makes sense. They're practically a couple already."
"Sense? You think it's okay to ditch a guildmate's trust for some silly romance?" Kira' voice rose. "In Fairy Tail, guildmates come first. Family, love, all that stuff takes a backseat!"
"But… Alzack's a guildmate too…"
"Argh, I can't stand this! Business is business—no room for feelings. I'm getting revenge!"
Loke sighed at Kira' childishness. "So, what's your plan?"
"What's my plan…?" Kira grinned wickedly. "I'm gonna make sure they have the worst romantic date ever!"
…
The next day, Kira tailed Bisca and Alzack, wearing a disguise mask to blend in as an ordinary passerby. To keep him from going overboard, Loke tagged along.
Loke, ever observant, noticed Bisca had switched up her lipstick shade, donned a rare pearl necklace and earrings, and swapped her usual boots for a pair of white ones. She was dressed to impress, radiant and stunning, clearly putting in effort for this date.
Alzack, on the other hand, was… less prepared. Same old outfit, though he'd clearly made a minimal effort—he'd taken a bath.
Kira snickered under his disguise. "Bet you anything Alzack didn't even notice Bisca's glow-up."
Watching the two blush and avoid eye contact, their hands itching to hold each other but too shy to try, Loke chuckled. "No way, he's usually super attentive to her!"
"Hmph! They're about to find out what happens when you cancel my order!" Kira glared, plotting.
"What's your move?"
"Don't worry, the show's about to start!"
First stop: Magnolia's movie theater.
Magnolia's theater, funded by Kira himself, had been open for less than five years but was already a hit with locals and even drew tourists from other cities.
Using imaging magic crystals for big-screen projections, movies were far more captivating than traditional plays or operas. Young couples, especially, loved the cutting-edge magic tech, which not only entertained but also brought them closer together. They couldn't get enough of it!
