Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Long Xingyu’s Pain, Departure, Li Xin’s Embrace!

Chapter 47: Long Xingyu's Pain, Departure, Li Xin's Embrace!

Long Xingyu was completely resolute, his expression serious as his aura surged outward. He was genuinely excited. The emergence of Spirit Armor could shake the entire world.

It might even alter the current balance between humans and demons on the Sacred Demon Continent.

Moreover, based on Ye Ling's vision, if even One-Word Spirit Armor was this terrifying, wouldn't the Two-Word tier be even stronger?

It was possible that Two-Word Spirit Armor alone could surpass the Secret Silver and Fine Gold battle armors, which were exclusive to Temple Knights.

That was already frightening enough. After all, Secret Silver and Fine Gold battle armors were only available to seventh-rank Temple Knights, with just 365 sets per Throne. They were inherited and passed down—unless someone gave up their position, the next generation had no chance to obtain one.

Such gear was extremely rare.

But—

Ye Ling's case was completely different!

According to his plan, as long as the materials were available, this Spirit Armor could be mass-produced, completely bound to the user, and even upgraded later.

A monumental breakthrough!

"Since Teacher Xingyu asked for it, I'll give it a shot," Ye Ling said with a smile. He didn't hesitate or hold back. Even if he gave it his all, his current strength wouldn't truly harm Long Xingyu.

So, he decided to unleash his full power.

Without another word, Ye Ling activated his Spirit Armor Light to its fullest and drew his Angelic Holy Sword. Although the armor's boost didn't raise his rank, the sword itself was of radiant-grade quality. Under Ye Ling's full power, it reached the realm of man-sword unity.

A terrifying aura erupted outward. Sensing this, Cai'er and Long Haochen silently stepped back. Although Cai'er's strength meant this power didn't frighten her—she could defend herself—since Ye Ling was about to strike Long Xingyu, she didn't want to interfere.

And Long Haochen watched in wide-eyed awe as Ye Ling prepared to swing at his own father.

"What a sword!" Long Xingyu praised upon seeing the Angelic Holy Sword. Even among radiant-grade weapons, it was top-tier. He could tell it wasn't forged by Ye Ling—this was likely a growth-type weapon!

Exquisite!

With that thought, Long Xingyu activated his spiritual power to reinforce his defenses, then nodded, indicating he was ready.

In the next instant, Ye Ling exploded with power and slashed toward Long Xingyu with all his might.

The blade struck his abdomen in a flash.

When the blow landed, Long Xingyu felt a massive force crash into him. His expression twisted in shock as searing pain surged from his midsection.

Long Xingyu: "!!!"

What the hell was that!?

I'm a ninth-rank, third-level Divine Seal Knight—recognized by the Divine Seal Throne—and I actually felt pain from your attack!?

And it hurt like hell!

My liver!

"Teacher Xingyu, how was it?" Ye Ling asked, retracting the Angelic Holy Sword and deactivating his Spirit Armor for nurturing.

Long Xingyu said nothing. He just stared down at his abdomen, carefully analyzing the lingering pain, deep in thought.

"You—" After a long silence, Long Xingyu looked helplessly at Ye Ling. It took him a few seconds to fully suppress the pain contorting his face. "Your attack actually bypassed part of my defense. Normally, radiant-grade gear doesn't have that kind of effect."

"Well, strictly speaking, every component of my One-Word Spirit Armor and the sword I wield has a defense-piercing effect," Ye Ling explained calmly. "That effect scales with my internal spiritual power—about half of it—and includes the boost granted by the armor."

Hearing that, Long Xingyu couldn't help but tug at the corner of his mouth, speechless. His own external spiritual power was in the tens of thousands. Ye Ling's "half" meant over a thousand points of penetration—and the pain from that strike had been very real.

Granted, he hadn't actively defended himself, but still—this power was absurd.

If Ye Ling reached the ninth rank and became a Sacred Knight, and Long Xingyu didn't defend at all, that single slash could cost him half his life.

Brutal. Truly brutal.

"Hoo!" Long Xingyu let out a long breath and said, "Based on my earlier estimation, that slash of yours was already beyond the standard fifth rank—at least at the level of a fifth-rank, stage six or seven."

"And that's from a direct strike. If you added techniques and your special bloodline power, even a true sixth-rank Radiant Knight would have to avoid it, unable to take it head-on."

Long Xingyu spoke seriously.

A fourth rank overwhelming a sixth rank?

If someone had told him this in the past, Long Xingyu would've mocked them mercilessly—go train properly instead of dreaming about nonsense with no value.

But now, he had seen it for himself. He understood everything clearly. From Ye Ling, he had witnessed true miracles.

If not for Ye Ling's current circumstances, Long Xingyu would've already reported this to the Temple Alliance's upper ranks and fought to get Ye Ling the best possible resources.

But as things stood, he no longer felt the need.

With Ye Ling's current ability, it made no real difference whether the Temple officially supported him or not.

As long as Ye Ling occasionally sold some of his forged gear, he'd receive nearly the same level of benefit.

And how would he sell it?

Wasn't Hao Yue Temple and Nalan Shu still around?

Sell a few pieces, and it would already surpass the benefits even the Knight Temple could provide.

Perfectly brilliant!

Thinking this, Long Xingyu nodded and said no more. After praising Ye Ling a few times, he turned and went back to his own work.

He needed to rework his plans.

As for Ye Ling, he didn't dwell on it either. Instead, he calmly looked to the side and began preparing for his next task.

He selected rare metals suitable for Cai'er and began forging them into alloy, preparing to craft a One-Word Spirit Armor tailored precisely for her.

Two days passed.

According to Long Xingyu's schedule, Ye Ling and his group descended the mountain and set out for the Hao Yue Sub-Temple.

Along the way, Long Haochen kept sighing, his gaze drifting between Ye Ling and Cai'er—not because of anything specific, but simply because he felt… left out.

He was, after all, the only one here who didn't have Spirit Armor.

And the weakest among them.

Long Haochen was aggrieved, but he didn't say a word.

Ye Ling, on the other hand, didn't think much of it—he simply laughed and urged them to continue the journey.

Odin Town wasn't far from Hao Yue City. They soon arrived at the entrance of the Hao Yue Knight Sub-Temple.

Though he had been gone for over half a year, the guards still recognized Ye Ling. They didn't question him, and he was allowed to enter directly.

They hadn't gone far before a tall, valiant figure suddenly rushed forward and enveloped Ye Ling in a tight hug. That overwhelming softness that seemed to encompass the entire world nearly knocked the breath out of him.

He'd intended to pull away, but when he realized who it was, he didn't resist. He had deep feelings for her—and so, he hugged her back just as tightly.

This scene hit like a meteor for the younger Long Haochen and Cai'er.

But while Long Haochen was merely stunned,

Cai'er sniffled quietly, drawing her small nose in. She also wanted a hug from Brother Ye Ling, but she didn't dare speak up. She simply stared on blankly, unsure of what to say or do.

After a while, the woman let go of Ye Ling. It was none other than Li Xin.

"You still remember how to come back, huh?" she teased, glaring at Ye Ling. "Gone for over half a year—what've you been doing? Hmph."

Then, her eyes curiously swept over him, sizing him up.

"You've gotten a lot taller. And your strength—it's clearly increased a lot too. Looks like you've completely surpassed your big sister now, huh?"
