"..."
Catrina glared at Cale, narrowing her eyes, she intently watched him for a while in silence
'Why isn't she saying anything?'
The silence was so suffocating that it made even Cale start to sweat, his turned red at the surprising silence Catrina held
'She isn't this quiet when I tease her...'
The moment he had those thoughts, she spoke in a low tone
"I can't believe you"
"What?"
"It's the first day at School and I show a little concern since you don't seem well and this is what you say on the first day?"
She pouted her cheeks slightly, Cale's hardened face then softened at her words
"Doesn't that mean that there is nothing wrong with me then?"
He said, looking at her like a low third tier thug
"Hahhh, I guess that's true"
Catrina Ignored the disturbing disgusting expression that hung on Cale's feature's so proudly
She Took her seat in front of Cale as if it was natural, she looked back and stared at Cale, her hands supporting her chin
"!"
'wait a minute!'
An epiphany hit Cale like a truck and flowed through his mind like a raging river
'Why am all of sudden on the right side of the classroom on the far back! No why did it take me this long to realize something that should have been the first thing I should have realized coming back!'
Cale was back in his actual school, his actual world, in a different seat from the one he used in Gardenia, which was the middle front one
'Just because I returned to my world, doesn't mean that I would be sitting in the same spot as before'
After all, Cale was basically forced to sit at that spot
'This is the spot I usually would try to sit in'
He wasn't completely in the far back, looking behind him, he saw the chatting boys who were doing random shenanigans in class, whom he had no affiliation with, they were basically strangers to each other
"Hahhh"
Cale sighed in frustration of the best seat in class being stolen from him, the worst part being he wasn't even able to do anything about it
Tsk
Catrina then clicked her tongue and looked back again and faced Cale
"Okay what the hell are you mad about now? That I'm sitting in front of you?"
Raising an eyebrow, Cale snapped at Catrina
"I'm not mad about anything you Dwarf!"
"Wha- See! You are mad!"
A voice full of frustration and anger left his mouth and flowed out, a sound reminiscent of a shriek followed behind
"I'M NOT! I'M NOT! I'M NOT! I'M NOT! I'M NOT!"
He strained his voice, vehemently refusing that he was mad, no one however paid attention to him however, why? because-
"Do a backflip!"
"Hup!"
"Damn! that backflip was good, better than the last one for sure!"
"Please man, just let me princess carry you one time!"
"Hell no! just what even is your fixation on that crap anyway!?"
Chaos
Everyone in the classroom was already talking and doing all sorts of crazy things because of the teacher needing to leave for a personal matter. In other words even though Cale was screaming at the top of his lungs, No one cared and no one paid him any attention which ultimately meant that Cale Dice did not make a fool out of himself on the first day of School and become a clown
"O-Okay Cale I know you are not mad so just calm-"
"I AM CALM!"
Catrina tried to calm the flailing Cale that was shaking her, but it failed miserably
"Go on"
An 'annoyance' named Gabriel Fernande appeared in the wild and instantly brought Cale's mood below freezing
Gabriel's eyes then widened in shock
"Wait what the hell happened to you? You're soaking wet!"
"...."
Icy frosty eyes glared at Gabriel, Cale was already full of his bullshit, a certain drowsiness filled him to the brim
'I want to go home...'
"There has to be a better way to phrase that"
The petite dwarf next to me spouted another mouthful of nonsense
"Catrina I know for a fact that you stole that line from a TV Show"
He called her out, knowing even the exact episode and season from the show
"It's one of the greatest shows ever made Cale and you know it!"
Cale scoffed, a smirk tugged at his lips
"Go watch the end of the show and you'll see what I mean"
As the person who has already watched the series to the end, he already knew how bad the ending was way before Catrina
'Can't a veteran like me foreshadow something like this slightly?'
"What?"
Visibly stunned and dazed, Catrina stayed bolted to her chair and she felt fear coursing through her body like an electrical current and the thought of her favorite TV Show getting a terrific ending kept gnawing at her mind and her will to continue watching it.
"Anyway let's forget about her and talk about what you meant Gabriel"
He turned his attention away from the quivering Catrina and his gaze lingered on Gabriel
"Exactly what I meant, you're drenched in sweat "
"Huh"
Only then did Cale look at himself did he then realize that the bastard was right. He was completely drenched in sweat.
Catrina snapped out of her dreadful thoughts and her mouth opened with a smirk adorning on her face
"Hey Cale don't tell me you actually thought I was concerned about you just because you looked a little pale"
An eyebrow was raised again, this time his mouth opened, his tone reprimanding Catrina
"Then why didn't you tell me that and instead you just told me I looked pale?"
Catrina froze like an Ice cube
She started melting, trying to find any way to retort but only silence remained between them
"...."
"...."
Finally, she opened her mouth to force out a few words, defeat and resignation were evident in her voice
"Ah.. well I mean..."
"Go on, we're listening princess Dwarf "
Daggers formed in her eyes, they were all pointing at Cale, however he only smirked even more the more he annoyed her
"...."
She snapped her head and looked out the window
"Screw you Cale"
"Yeah that's what I thought"
Cale felt a lot of joy out of annoying her, it was a small joy, but it was enough to raise his spirits considerably
"So do any of you have anything I can get this sweat cleaned with, like-"
Asking the both of them, he was expecting a favorable reaction and answer but-
"Just use your clothes to clean it"
However a completely different answer was heard, breaking every expectation he had, even the dwarf next to him was shocked
"...."
"...."
Cale and Catrina both stare at this disgusting animal dead in the eyes amidst the silence. Until Catrina finally broke the silence.
"That is just disgusting and uncivilized"
Simple words, yet they cut deeper than a blade
"For once I agree with you Catrina"
Cale joined and supported Catrina's claim, forgetting how much he had teased her beforehand
"Woah woah woah what is this! Why are you two suddenly ganging up on me when you were at each others necks!"
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend"
"And the enemy of my enemy is also my friend"
Gabriel was astonished at how quickly Cale and Catrina joined together and proceeded to grill him as if it was natural and they did this so nonchalantly that it only added to the suddenness, making his train of thought stop completely
"I...shouldn't have talked..huh"
Gabriel resigned to his fate, Cale and Catrina proceeded to grill him for the next half hour on how uncivilized and disgusting it was...they were only adding more and more insults, educating their friend thoroughly
Tok!
The teacher finally came back, his steps light, but loud enough to be heard in the entire class, Cale thought of it as a bit weird but didn't think much of it and stared at the teacher, eyes glued to him
The teacher swiftly reached his desk that was on the podium
Putting his hands on the desk, he spoke cheerfully
"Okay so since we don't have much time left"
'Yeah because you left for half an hour' He was not blaming him, since he probably had a very important reason for leaving the class unattended for half an hour, Cale was simply stating a fact.
"We will try to get the introductions done as quickly as possible which will also mean that I will not be accepting any questions from any of you, also for the students that came late. I am Carlos and would like you to call me Teacher Carlos. Now let's start with you at the far left corner of the classroom, what is your name?"
The student scrambled a bit as he didn't expect to be the first one on the chopping board
"Ehem so Teacher, why isn't the school doing the introductions and giving us our books in the same classroom?"
"..."
He removed his square glasses that rested on his nose bridge and took a deep breath
"Hooooo"
The teacher then started praying for his mental health.
'This is going to be a long day...'
That thought stayed rooted in his mind, knowing that he was right, he also started massaging his temples
