Chapter 66 - CHAPTER 66

Magical Welding Girl

Following Xu Mo's command, the skeleton warriors and undead knights charged in all directions.

This was the first location Xu Mo had chosen on the map to set up an auxiliary magic circle.

Judging from the scale—covering the entirety of Los Angeles—each auxiliary circle spanned no less than three hundred meters in diameter.

To inscribe a magic circle with mithril across such a range, the ground first had to be completely cleared of obstacles.

Under Xu Mo's direction, the undead began demolishing everything in sight. Houses, fences, and even trees were uprooted and destroyed.

Xu Mo watched their frenzied clearing, then raised his right hand and reached into a nearby spatial gate. He drew out a thick book, four or five centimeters in width.

The mark of the Dark Divine Book at his brow flared with light.

A stream of black energy surged from it into the book, engulfing it completely. The pages twisted and reformed, the original content erased, replaced instead with incantations and spells of dark magic.

When the transformation was complete, the book looked nearly identical to the Book of Darkness itself.

Xu Mo tossed the tome casually to Kim Tae-hee.

"Inside are dark magic spells. Try practicing them. If you don't understand something—figure it out yourself. Don't bother me."

Without waiting for her reply, Xu Mo moved to an open space, intent on transmuting silver ornaments into mithril through secret alchemical methods.

Kim Tae-hee's eyes brightened as she caught the book. Eagerly, she opened it—and her heart nearly leapt out of her chest.

The very first spell: Space Teleportation.

"If I learn this… I can go back to South Korea and save my sister!" she whispered, trembling with excitement.

Suppressing her joy, she immediately began to study with focus.

---

Meanwhile, Xu Mo waved a hand, and a pile of silver ornaments appeared on the ground.

A stream of purple flame burst from his palm, hovering in midair. Under his telekinetic control, the ornaments floated into the flame, melted, and were refined into mithril.

He worked tirelessly the entire day. By dusk, his body was heavy with exhaustion. He stored the last portion of liquid mithril into his space ring and exhaled in relief.

When he glanced back at Kim Tae-hee, she was so absorbed in her practice that she looked like a magical welding girl—bursts of light flashing before her, purple sparks flying out like welding arcs, her lips muttering incantations nonstop.

Xu Mo didn't disturb her. Instead, he surveyed the surrounding area.

Within several hundred meters, everything had been leveled. The debris had been piled up outside the magic circle, forming a crude barrier. The undead now guarded the perimeter, cleaning up stray zombies drawn by the commotion.

Undead, after all, had one great advantage: they required no rest.

---

  "Success!"

Kim Tae-hee's voice rang out, brimming with excitement.

Xu Mo turned just in time to see a space gate slowly unfurling before her. His expression darkened. He rushed over, pulling her away from the gate while signaling a dozen undead knights to converge on their position.

She wasn't yet skilled—who knew where her portal actually led? If it opened into a zombie horde, she'd be the first to die.

  Fortunately, no disaster struck.

Through the gate, they saw the interior of a classroom. Korean writing decorated the walls.

Kim Tae-hee pointed, trembling. "That's Seoul National University—Suwon Campus! My sister's school!"

She lunged toward the gate, but Xu Mo caught her by the collar.

  "What sister? Explain."

Flustered, she quickly told him everything about her younger sibling. Then, looking up anxiously, she pleaded:

"Can I borrow some skeleton soldiers? Just for one night."

She knew too well the terror of zombies. The longer she delayed, the slimmer her sister's chances became.

Xu Mo nodded. "Fine. But there are conditions."

"I'll agree to anything!" she said firmly.

"Good. We'll settle the terms after you rescue your sister."

With a wave of his hand, fifty skeleton soldiers assembled behind her, joined by three undead knights. One knight dismounted, offering his warhorse.

Kim Tae-hee climbed onto the undead steed, flanked by the knights and skeletal soldiers, and together they entered the glowing gate.

Her ability to cast a space spell after less than a day of study proved her remarkable magical talent. Xu Mo thought to himself: this was the perfect chance to train her. After all, once he left, someone would need to lead the undead army.

If she couldn't even handle a mission like this, she had no business controlling the undead.

Xu Mo watched until the space gate closed. He left a few undead knights to guard the circle, then returned to the yacht.

---

Inside, Alyssa lay sprawled on the bed, bored out of her mind. The moment Xu Mo appeared, she jumped up eagerly.

Her eyes flicked toward the slowly fading space gate behind him.

"Is that real too?" she asked, astonished.

Xu Mo gave a weary nod. After a day of ceaseless refining, even his body was beginning to strain.

Seeing his fatigue, Alyssa smiled mischievously as she stepped closer.

"Hiss~ What are you doing?" Xu Mo muttered, wary.
