Chapter 67 - Chapter 71: Lisanna!! Another One?!

Lisanna grinned at her. "Cana, you're acting really weird today. Did you drink yourself silly or something?"

"Haha—" Cana let out an awkward laugh, scratching her head. "M-maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me? Uh, anyway—I'm heading to the garden to grab some cake and barbecue. Wanna come?"

"They've got the latest manga there too, you know."

At the mention of manga, Lisanna's eyes sparkled with interest, but she quickly shook it off, smiling as she shook her head. "Nah, I just got back from a mission, and I'm kinda beat. I just wanna soak up some sun, clear my head, and enjoy a quiet dessert."

She squinted happily, basking in the warm sunlight.

"I totally get it!" Cana nodded enthusiastically. "The sun's all warm and cozy—it's super healing. And with cake? Perfection."

"Alright, I'm off! If I don't hurry, all the good spots in the garden will be taken!" She waved and turned to go.

"See ya!" Lisanna called after her, waving back with a smile, whispering softly, "Catch you later, Cana."

Cana jogged to her favorite barbecue joint and pushed open the door with a flourish. "Yo! Mira, Elfman, you guys here for barbecue too? I just saw Lis—"

Her words cut off abruptly.

Her eyes widened in shock.

Standing right in front of Mira and Elfman was—another Lisanna!

"Lis! Lisanna!!" Cana's voice cracked in disbelief.

The Lisanna in the barbecue shop turned at the sound, tilting her head with a cheerful grin. "What's up, Cana? Something wrong?"

"Wha—?!" Cana's scalp tingled as she rubbed her eyes furiously. When she looked again, the person was still there!

"You… weren't you just eating cake on a bench by the street?!"

"What bench?" Mira cut in, looking puzzled. "Lisanna just got back from a mission with us. Elfman was craving barbecue, so we came straight here."

This book is first published on 101kan.com, offering you an error-free, seamless reading experience.

"Exactly! That's right!" Elfman added stiffly. "We came here right awa—oof." His words were cut short as Mira subtly elbowed him in the stomach.

"Urk!" Elfman grunted, clutching his side, his face contorting in pain.

Mira kept her smile perfectly in place. "Sorry, Elfman's still a bit out of it from his latest Beast Soul takeover. He's not exactly sharp with words right now."

Lisanna stepped closer to Cana, tucking a strand of white hair behind her ear with a sweet smile. "So, Cana, what were you saying about me?"

The string of "Lisannas" was making Cana's head spin. She felt like the world was swirling around her. "You—you were just talking to me on that bench!"

"Cana, are you still half-asleep or something?" Lisanna reached out, gently touching Cana's forehead with concern. "I've been with Mira-nee and Elfman the whole time. I haven't gone anywhere near a bench, let alone eaten cake by myself."

Cana glanced at Mira, whose magic aura was as strong as ever—definitely not a fake. So, had she really been seeing things?

Her head felt heavy. In a daze, she bought her barbecue and cake, grabbed the bags, and shuffled toward the garden, her brows furrowed the whole way.

Did I mess up my brain sneaking drinks as a kid against Roger's warnings? Am I hallucinating things that aren't there?

But these hallucinations feel way too real!

Did I get hit with some kind of illusion magic?

"Hey, Cana, you here to sunbathe too?" A familiar voice called out from the garden entrance.

"Hm—huh?!" Cana's head snapped up, her eyes nearly popping out. "Lisanna!! Another one?!!"

Sunlight bathed the white-haired girl sitting on the bench, giving her a soft golden glow.

She tilted her head in confusion. "What do you mean, 'another one'? I've been sitting here soaking up the sun this whole time."

"No way!" Cana's eyes narrowed. This had to be a fake—there was no way Mira wouldn't recognize her own sister.

She marched over, tossed her bags onto the bench, and grabbed the "Lisanna" by the cheeks. "Show your true form, imposter!"

"Ow! That hurts!" The bench Lisanna swatted her hands away, rubbing her reddened cheeks and mumbling, "Cana, did you drink yourself loopy? What imposter?!"

"Hmph!" Cana crossed her arms, giving her a knowing look. "If you're not an imposter, then answer this: what's my nickname in the guild?!"

"Three, two, one—answer now!!"

"Non-lucky!" Lisanna blurted out instinctively.

"What?! Non-lucky?!" Cana exploded, her hair practically standing on end. "Who's non-lucky?! I'm the luckiest around, thank you very much!!!"

"Uh-huh~" Lisanna dragged out the word, her face screaming disbelief. "But didn't you once draw 95 slime cards in a row—ow!"

Cana, overcome with despair, clamped a hand over Lisanna's mouth. "That's enough! Don't say another word!"

A mischievous glint flashed in Lisanna's eyes as she watched Cana's defeated expression, barely holding back her laughter.

Cana was utterly lost now. If this Lisanna knew about the card incident, she had to be real. So what was going on with all the other Lisannas?

Am I really that drunk? How did my alcohol tolerance drop so fast?!

I can't go around bragging I can drink forever anymore! (Heartbreak)

Wait—did I just time-travel or something?! Like in Doraemon, jumping to the future or the past!!

That's it! It all makes sense now. The Lisannas I saw were just her at different points in time! But how did I suddenly start time-traveling?

Could it be—I'm about to become the main character?!

"Hahahaha!"

A bright, clear laugh snapped Cana out of her mental spiral. She looked at Lisanna, who was doubled over, laughing so hard she could barely stand.

Cana's eyes narrowed. She knew it—this had to be Lisanna's doing.

"It was you, Lisanna!!"

Lisanna wiped a tear from her eye, still giggling. "Cana, your face was just too funny!"

"You were totally thinking something wild, weren't you?"

"You little trickster!" Cana pounced, kneading Lisanna's cheeks like dough in playful revenge. "I'm so mad! No new manga for you for three months!"

"Mmph! Sowwy—" Lisanna mumbled through squished cheeks, pleading, "As an apology—how about I introduce you to a new friend?"

Cana froze, her eyes lighting up. "New friend? You don't mean… a rare, region-exclusive liquor?!"

Lisanna wriggled free, rubbing her cheeks as she rolled her eyes. "Ugh, liquor's your friend now?"

"Hi, Cana."

A familiar voice came from behind. Cana turned and saw another Lisanna standing there.

Cana groaned. "Stop messing with me, I already know it's you."

"No messing around this time," Lisanna said, running over to the new figure and linking arms with her, grinning. "This is my long-lost twin sister, Lisa! We ran into her by chance on our last mission, so we brought her back with us!"
