Chapter 122 - Chapter 126: The Early Appearance of Celestial Clothing, A Flirty Erza

The pink-haired maid appeared, her hands clasped in front of her, head slightly tilted, her voice as calm and steady as ever.

"Princess, why has your magic power suddenly become so strong?"

"It's not me!" Lucy quickly pointed at Roger. "Roger's the one who summoned you!"

Virgo couldn't believe it at first, but as a loyal Celestial Spirit, she immediately accepted the seemingly impossible explanation.

"This is the first time someone other than the keyholder has summoned me without breaking the rules of the Celestial Spirit World."

"It's the same as the Princess's magic power, but with a much larger amount."

Lucy muttered, "Ugh, sorry my magic power's so weak then."

Roger looked at the key in his hand, thinking for a moment before speaking. "Virgo, is it possible for you to not appear when summoned but instead release a portion of your power through the key?"

Virgo tilted her head slightly. "A strange request? I've never tried it, but theoretically—it might be possible."

She turned to Lucy, her tone flat as ever. "Princess, are you engaging in some weird kind of play?"

"No way!" Lucy groaned, rubbing her forehead. "Why would you even think that? What do you usually read?!"

Virgo pulled a small black notebook from under her skirt. "This is my Discipline Diary. Would you like to read it, Princess?"

"No thanks!" Lucy's face turned bright red as she shouted.

Mira, however, raised her hand with a mischievous grin. "I'd love to take a look~"

As Virgo started to hand it over, Lucy hurriedly interrupted. "Hold on! Roger still has stuff to try, right?!"

Virgo, with a hint of disappointment, tucked the notebook away and gave Mira a small bow. "It seems I'll have to show you next time."

"Aw, what a shame," Mira said, resting her cheek in her hand, her smile growing brighter. "Next time, come find me. We might just hit it off~"

A faint blush appeared on Virgo's face, her tone a touch lighter. "Very well. I look forward to our next meeting."

Lucy's jaw dropped. "What are you all even talking about?! Is this something you can just openly discuss?!"

"And Virgo, why are you blushing?!"

Roger raised the key again. "Alright, let's get started."

Virgo didn't respond right away. She glanced at Lucy, waiting for her nod of approval before vanishing back to the Celestial Spirit World.

Roger pressed the key lightly against his chest, channeling magic power into it and slowly turning it. A golden light poured from the key, flowing like water to envelop his body. Two glowing golden magic circles formed a cross on either side of him, spinning slowly.

When the light faded, Roger's clothes had transformed into a black-and-white butler outfit.

"What… what is this?!" Lucy stared, dumbfounded. "This feeling—it's Virgo's power? You can use a Celestial Spirit's power like this?!"

Happy flew closer, tilting his head curiously. "Is it like Requip magic? But it feels a little different…"

Erza stepped forward, examining Roger's outfit closely. "It's not Requip magic. It's closer to an augmentation spell—channeling a Celestial Spirit's power into yourself and manifesting it as clothing."

"Pretty much," Roger said, shaking the key lightly. "Virgo's power is being transferred to me through the key."

"With this 'outfit,' I can use a portion of her abilities."

He raised his right hand toward an empty patch of ground. A yellowish-brown magic circle flashed briefly, and countless deep black pits appeared silently in the ground before instantly filling back up, as if nothing had happened.

Lucy's mouth fell open. "That's Virgo's digging ability!"

"And you made so many holes in just a split second?!"

Happy gave a skeptical look. "How come Roger's magic is so much stronger than Lucy's? And this is only a fraction of a Celestial Spirit's power! Who's the real Celestial Wizard here?"

Lucy coughed awkwardly and explained, "It's because of the difference in magic power! The stronger a Celestial Wizard's magic, the stronger the summoned spirit becomes."

"Once my magic power gets stronger, Virgo will be able to do the same thing."

Roger stared at his right hand, frowning slightly as he followed an instinct and channeled more magic into the key. Two soft golden glows floated from Virgo's key, gently circling his wrists.

Click.

The light faded, revealing a pair of dull iron chain bracelets locked around his wrists.

Everyone froze. A few seconds later, Happy covered his cheeks and let out a high-pitched scream. "Aye!!"

"Roger's turned into a total masochist!!!"

Roger's mouth twitched. He flicked his right hand, and the chains glowed with a faint yellowish-brown light. The sand on the ground instantly formed five rings, snapping precisely around Happy's limbs and mouth, pinning him to the ground.

"Mmph! Mmph!" Happy struggled uselessly, the sand rings tightening with every move.

Lucy shot him a look. "You really will say anything, huh?"

Roger studied the chains on his wrists, frowning. "It feels like my control over earth magic has gotten stronger, and the power seems amplified too."

"Is this… a weapon?"

"What?!" Lucy yelped. "A weapon?! Why would it look like that? I've never seen Virgo use anything like this!"

"I'm not sure, just a hunch," Roger said thoughtfully. "We'll need to summon Virgo again to confirm."

He waved the key, and the pink-haired maid reappeared. "Princess, is it time for my punishment?"

"No!" Lucy pointed at Roger's wrists. "Virgo, are those your weapons?"

Virgo's gaze landed on the chains, pausing for a rare moment. She glanced at her own wrists, where identical chains rested.

"They are indeed my weapons," she said, her tone as flat as ever, though a faint trace of confusion flickered in her eyes. "But how did they end up on someone else?"

She paused, then added in a monotone, "I am very surprised."

Lucy deadpanned. "Your face isn't selling it at all."

"Weapons? Like Taurus's axe? But why haven't I ever seen you use them?"

Virgo explained, "I usually use the chains to control earth magic for attacks, much like how Lady Aquarius manipulates water with her urn."

Roger nodded thoughtfully, his fingers unconsciously brushing the Celestial key. "It seems that when my magic power increases, I can 'borrow' more of a spirit's power through the key, even projecting their unique weapons."

Lucy stared at Roger's butler outfit and the chain bracelets, her eyes practically sparkling with envy. "That's so cool! You can actually channel a Celestial Spirit's power into yourself. If I could learn that trick, I'd be unstoppable!"

Roger raised an eyebrow at her. "Who said you can't learn it?"

"Huh?" Lucy blinked, pointing at his outfit. "But isn't this augmentation magic?"

"I'm a Celestial Wizard. The magic I'm supposed to learn is stuff like spatial magic, right?"

"Augmentation magic isn't exactly in my wheelhouse."

"It's similar to augmentation magic, but not quite," Roger explained patiently, raising his hand as the butler outfit dissolved into specks of golden light.

"At its core, it's still Celestial Spirit magic, just borrowing some traits of augmentation magic."

"The key is precise control over your magic power."

"With your current level of control, if you train for a bit and boost your magic power, you should be able to pull it off."

He glanced at the keyring on Lucy's waist. "But projecting a spirit's weapon, like I just did, might require even more magic power."

"Really?!" Lucy nearly jumped with excitement, clenching her fists. "That's awesome! This could seriously boost my combat skills!"

"And if I master this, I can take on higher-level missions with better rewards!"

Gurgle.

A loud stomach growl interrupted the moment.

Everyone turned to see Natsu slumped on the beach, clutching his stomach with a pitiful look. "I'm starving… Can we go eat now?"

Erza glanced at the darkened sky, dotted with stars. "It's getting late. Let's eat first and talk about Celestial magic later."

"Fine," Lucy said, patting her own rumbling stomach and reining in her excitement. She took the key back from Roger and turned to Virgo. "When you get back, please tell the other spirits what happened. Once we're back at the guild, we'll start training right away."

"Understood," Virgo said, clasping her hands and bowing slightly before vanishing in a flash of golden light.

Gray leaned in, curious. "Do Celestial Spirits talk to each other like that?"

"Of course!" Lucy wagged a finger. "They have their own lives in the Celestial Spirit World. They hang out, chat, and play together all the time."

"Really?" Gray's eyes widened. "So, if two rival Celestial Wizards have spirits who are friends, and those wizards fight, do the spirits have to fight each other too?"

Lucy's expression faltered, her voice softening. "Yeah, Celestial Spirits have to follow their summoner's orders."

"Even if they're best friends, if their masters are different, they have no choice but to fight."

"That's… kinda harsh," Gray said quietly.

The group chatted and laughed as they headed toward the resort's restaurant. A few steps in, Lucy slowed down, tilting her head in confusion. "Hey, does anyone else feel like we're forgetting something?"

Roger frowned slightly. "Now that you mention it, it does feel like—"

They exchanged glances, and a few seconds later, the image of a blue cat trapped in sand rings flashed into their minds.

"Happy!!!" they shouted in unison.

They rushed back to the beach, where Happy lay sprawled on the sand, drenched in sweat and looking utterly defeated, his tail drooping lifelessly.

Roger quickly waved his hand, and the sand rings dissolved with a poof.

Happy shot upright, his whiskers trembling with indignation. "You guys are the worst!!!"

"You left a poor cat all alone on a dark beach!!"

"What if someone from a dark guild passed by and kidnapped me?!"

Lucy rolled her eyes. "I highly doubt a dark guild would show up at a fancy resort that costs 500,000 jewels a night."

Happy launched himself at Natsu, swatting his face with his paws. "And you, Natsu! All you cared about was food!"

"You completely forgot your best buddy was still stuck here!!"

Natsu scratched his head sheepishly. "Haha, sorry, sorry. It was so dark, I didn't notice you were still trapped…"

Happy flopped onto the ground, sprawling dramatically with all four limbs in the air, fake-sobbing. "A poor, weak, helpless little cat, abandoned on a cold, lonely beach…"

Before he could finish, Natsu scooped him up under his arm and bolted toward the restaurant. "Alright, alright! To make it up to you, I'll treat you to the most expensive fish they've got!"

"B-But…" Happy's words came out in bursts as the wind whipped past. "The food's already covered by the voucher!!"

His voice trailed off into the breeze, and the others couldn't help but laugh as they hurried to catch up.

After dinner, everyone returned to their rooms. Mira sank into the soft bed, flipping through a manga book. When she reached the last page, she set it aside, propped her cheek on her hand, and smiled at the other two in the room.

"You know, this is the first time we've all shared a room like this~"

"Erza, you've been living with Roger since you were kids, right?"

"Of course," Erza said, setting down her book with a hint of pride. "We've been together since we first joined the guild."

"It's what you'd call 'childhood friends.'"

"Ohh~" Mira's eyes gleamed mischievously as she stretched out the word. "So, living together all this time, have you and Roger ever done anything… interesting?"

"Interesting?!" Erza's mind was instantly flooded with scenes from romance novels. Her face turned beet red, steam practically rising from her head. "W-What are you talking about?! Of course not! And Kagura's in the other room, so that kind of thing—" Her voice grew quieter until she buried her face in her knees.

"Oh my~" Mira gasped playfully, covering her mouth. "Why's Erza so shy~?"

"It's just eating a candlelit dinner or cooking together. Why would you be worried about Kagura?"

"Huh?" Erza's head shot up. "Candlelit… dinner?"

"What else~?" Mira said with a teasing smile. "What was Erza thinking about?"

"Something naughty, maybe?"

"N-No way!!" Erza protested, her eyes darting away as she stammered. "I-I was talking about candlelit dinners too!"

Mira giggled at Erza's flushed face and evasive gaze, deciding to let her off the hook. She stood up, slipping a finger under the strap of her nightgown as if to pull it down.

"Mira, what are you doing?!" Roger and Erza shouted in unison.

Mira blinked innocently. "Changing? Unlike you guys, I don't have Requip magic, so I have to do it the old-fashioned way."

Erza pointed to the changing room in the corner. "Change over there!"

"Are you sure?" Mira walked to the changing room door and pressed an unassuming button near the bed. With a click, the wooden wall turned transparent, revealing the inside of the changing room completely.

Roger rubbed his forehead. "What kind of voucher did Loke give us…?"

Erza, blushing furiously, rushed over and pressed the button again to restore the wall. She shoved Mira toward the changing room. "There, it's fixed! Now go change!"

"We're supposed to hit the casino, right? It'll close if we don't hurry!"

"A casino closing this early? Erza, you're so clueless~" Mira teased, grabbing her dress. Before stepping inside, she turned and winked at Roger, her lips curving playfully. "If Roger wants to watch, he can press the button anytime~ I don't mind at all."

"Get in there and change!" Erza practically shoved her inside.

Moments later, Mira emerged in a pale yellow gown, a rose necklace glinting at her neck under the light. "What do you think?" she asked, giving a little twirl. "I bought this dress to match the necklace."

Roger smiled. "It looks great. You'd look good in anything, Mira."

Mira's smile brightened at the compliment. "Really? There was an even prettier dress—a real showstopper—but no matter how much I offered, they wouldn't sell it."

On the other side of the room, a flash of white light enveloped Erza. When it faded, her nightgown had transformed into a deep purple evening dress that hugged her figure perfectly. The sleeves ended in delicate white lace gloves, her scarlet hair was pinned up with two strands framing her chest, and white lily earrings swayed gently at her ears.

She put a hand on her hip, tilting her head confidently. "Well? Does it look good? I really like this one."

"Absolutely stunning," Roger said, his eyes warm with admiration. "The deep purple dress pairs perfectly with your scarlet hair. It makes you look even more beautiful—like a rose blooming in the night."

Erza beamed, especially pleased that her compliment was more elaborate than Mira's.

A flash of white light passed over Roger, replacing his casual clothes with a sharp, tailored suit.

"Roger, you look so handsome!" Mira and Erza said in unison, then locked eyes, sparks practically flying between them.

Mira moved first, looping her arm through Roger's right one with a bright smile. "Looks like I beat you to it~"

"Not again!" Erza huffed, quickly grabbing his left arm.

With one girl on each side, they practically dragged Roger out of the room, their arms locked tightly around his. Roger felt the soft warmth through his clothes, his ears turning slightly red as he quickened his pace toward the casino.
