Chapter 7 - chapter 6

Drip

Drip

Drip

A light sounds of water dripping sounded from a distance. It was dark, pitch black not a single light sources insight. There was no sound besides that of the dripping water echoing, it was silent, the type of silent that made you want to relax.

That's why it felt dangerous to me.

I began to feel sleepy, a yawn escaped my mouth. My eyelids flickered.

One thought came to mind. It was what that guy had told that during our meeting at the coffee shop.

'Stay awake.'

Those two simple words that I don't much mind to before now danced in every corner of my mind.

Soon this mantra started playing in my mind again and again, over and over again, nonstop. It helped me stay sharp and alert.

[Your way more resisted than I thought. Usually some just accept that it's safe and that they are safe, but that's a lie. And I'd go into their minds and let them dream, they'd only realize they're in danger when the nightmare starts and their biggest fears come to life. By then it would already be too late tho.] Melione's voice echoed silently around...where ever I always.

I turned around quickly in every direction there could possibly be.

[Up here] suddenly a huge figure appeared, it was Melione. Only her upper body was shown and water dripped down from her entire body.

I hissed in realization of how big she was. She raised her hand and sent it flying towards where I stood at fast speeds but she wasn't aiming for me, the ground is what she was after. The once solid ground shifted to liquid as I was pushed down. There was no oxygen, my hands covered my mouth before I instinctively swim back up.

I managed to find solid ground and get back up.

[What is your name Heaven's Fallen] she asked calmly as if she wasn't terminating me with my biggest fears. Summoning hundreds of snakes.

Rattle

Rattle

Rattle

There are only three things I fear, I think?.

1 : snakes

2 : anything water related

3 : being al... and fo...

She grew impatient and the hundreds of began to attack me while I ran for my life.

[Answer me the question child, hiding your name wouldn't be worth dying over would it]

Hiding, hiding what, I am obviously too busy with trying not to drown or have hundreds of snakes bite me at once.

"Dain... My name is Dain." I screamed.

In an instant everything went silent, no dripping water, no snakes, no giant lady terminating me. It was more weird when I turned around a she wasn't there, I looked to left, to the right and back, nothing.

[So you're him, is that so] she appeared in front of my gaze.

Does she know me, must be from the recordings of the second phase of the first trial.

This time when she appeared, she didn't have her breathing mask on but her cloak still remained in place over her head, right down her nose.

[This is not how I expected you to look

] Melione commented.

I gave her a blank stare, in my mind I questioned how I should look. ' I know I'm not the handsomest guy around but come on, don't be rude.' she paid no attention to me seemingly lost in thought about something I had no clue about.

Melione was silent for a moment before opening her mouth [So you're the one]

"Umm...yes depending on 'who the one' is. I mean you kinda terminated me seconds ago and now that I told you my name, when I finally get a chance to by the way— I couldn't before because I was trying to stay afloat and not get bitten by snakes." I started muttering because I was nervous. It's always been a flaw of mine.

[Let me question you something Heaven's Fallen. Do you really wish to live?] I took a few seconds to really think about it, before when others had asked me this very question— the answer was clear.I had been nervous before but composted myself and answered.

"Yes, I do."

[For one who wish to live, they must be able to indower , alone]

Without further words, Melione disappeared leaving me to the darkness. Panic soon consumed me.

"Melione!!!" I shout mentally.

I was left to the aloneness I so disp

In the meanwhile.

A child not even 10 years old yet. Saw horror's that could break a grown man.

"Mother is that you." Kit run after a figure that seemed to belong to his mother. He followed her up the stairs, to his room. She rocked back and forth over and over again.

[You know this is your own fault]

Realty seemed to be distorted with each word she said.

[You did this] His mother turned to face him only to reveal her blood soaked self.

Fear grew on Kit's face as tears fell down his cheeks.

"I'm sorry... really sorry." The kid thought back to the vision he saw before he realized he was died: his mother, his father, his older sister, and him laying there. Bodies lifeless, blood everywhere on the couch, the old wooden table that his said he would replace, on this cake that his mother and sister went out to get earlier that day. The happy birthday song playing on repeat, that one line from the song haunting his mind.

[...happy...birthday to... You]

[...happy...birthday to... You]

[...happy...birthday to... You]

[...happy...birthday to... You]

[...happy...birthday to... You]

[Happy birthday...to... You]

"Ugh... stop, stop, stop, STOPPPP!."

A blond man with long hair walked through the home he once knew.

"You brought me here of all places. You really wanna torture me don't you."

[Brother, brother is that you brother]

His heart sank hearing the little child's voices he heard. He had been raised in an orphanage when he was young. Everyone there was particularly family, so they all referred to each other as brothers and sisters. One night there was a fire and he was the only one that made it out. Some might have seen that as a miracle but to him it was nothing short of a hellish nightmare.

The children all ran to hug him, although he knew this one fake, he couldn't help but want to dream. He was turned into a kid again holding his most dear memory close to his chest. For a moment memories of him with his siblings ran through his mind.

But that was only for a moment.

[Why you'd leave us]

Those words changed the whole setting, it was no longer an orphanage with sunflowers painted on the walls and children with happy smiles. No, the place was on fire, the paint on the wall melting, and the children's face were now the face's of the dead.

"I didn't mean to, I promise I would have never done so if I had a choice. I never wanted to leave you." Adris whispered with his head down.

"I really didn't." He whispers underneath his breath.

"Why did you leave me." Another familiar voice rang out, this voice wasn't like the others—it was of someone very special to him. Upon seeing the small child with his head down, Adris couldn't help feeling completely shattered.

Adris stood there, connecting eyes with the boy while everything else disappeared. His eyelids twitched as thoughts ran through his mind. The man clenched his teeth.

"You're not him, I could tell instantly that you're not him." He lowered his head and clenched his fists.

[Oh well it was worth the shot.] Melione's voice escaped the young boys month. A creepy smile formed on the boy's lips.

"Let's just get over with this already." Adris actived his capability.
