Chapter 41 - HISD Chapter 41 New Gods and Old Gods

HISD Chapter 41 New Gods and Old Gods

The elite soldiers of the undersea kingdom Atlantis were instantly slaughtered like fragile shrimp. Their advanced armored suits were pierced straight through and shattered.

The ocean roared as a massive vacuum zone appeared, a space even seawater could not enter. A three-meter-tall, bone-spiked monster swung its victims into the distance with violent force.

What kind of monster was this?

Its enormous, spiked body moved faster than any Atlantean underwater, and the overwhelming power radiating from it was indescribable—divine and demonic all at once. Its exoskeleton surged with the aura of destruction.

Atlanna, Atlantis's crown princess and queen-to-be, felt a chill run through her. A moment ago, she had fought desperately against many soldiers, but now, with pure instinct, she turned and fled without hesitation.

Run.

Facing such an irresistible existence, the only choice was to run!

The turbulent seawater parted naturally around her as she swam, no resistance slowing the voluptuous figure of the white-haired woman. She became a streaking torrent in the ocean!

Born from the depths of the ocean floor, Atlanna carried the ancient royal bloodline of Atlantis. Her swimming speed far surpassed ordinary Atlanteans.

And now, at this life-or-death moment, her body rocketed forward like a jet-propelled arrow. Her speed instantly surged to Mach 8!

Mach 8. Faster than a jet plane.

In the blink of an eye, she had escaped several kilometers away.

She looked back. The bone-spiked monster still lingered where it had entered the ocean. Its huge body was already being covered again by the returning seawater.

She could do it!

In the water, she could escape this thing!

Joy of survival welled up in her heart—until she suddenly noticed the monster shifting, making a faint motion as if to kick…

Kick the water?

Boom!!

The next moment.

It was like a deep-sea bomb detonated. Seawater surged wildly in a ten-kilometer radius. Atlanna's mind went blank. The monster had vanished in the distance, and the ocean itself split open into a vacuum corridor leading straight to her.

Before she could react, a massive exoskeletal hand, metallic and terrifyingly strong, shot from behind and clamped around her waist.

"No… no, no!!"

Her pale, beautiful face twisted in terror as she struggled. But the monster's hand was stronger than iron chains, its five fingers closing around her like a giant vice. No matter how she fought, she couldn't move an inch.

Even in her element, the sea, their power was not even on the same level.

Boom!!

The seawater around them exploded once more, sending up colossal waves. Above, the clouds split open. Atlanna caught a glimpse of the sky thousands of meters up before crashing back down toward the endless sea.

It was over. Everything was over.

The crown princess of Atlantis despaired. Was this demon going to eat her?

God, she would taste terrible. Like salted fish!

Goodbye, Thomas. Goodbye, little Arthur…

Shivering in terror, she was carried across the ocean. The monster's unnatural speed ripped the air and sea apart. The winds alone were so strong she couldn't keep her eyes open.

After half a minute, she no longer knew how far they had traveled. They struck with thunderous force, shaking the world. She realized they had landed on an island.

The massive hand released her, and she collapsed onto the sand.

Dazed, she opened her eyes and saw that she was on a deserted island. The terrifying bone-spiked monster was gone.

But the island was covered with crater-like marks, proof that this was its territory.

Still trembling, Atlanna suddenly heard the cry of a baby.

A baby?

She scrambled up and found an infant, still in swaddling, lying in the cramped cabin of a strange craft. The child cried loudly.

Whether it was fear of attracting the monster again or the instinct of a mother, Atlanna hurriedly scooped the baby into her arms. But the crying didn't stop. The baby's little face only looked weaker.

Hungry?

She hesitated, then tugged her collar aside, exposing soft, pale skin to the sunlight.

The baby quieted.

Atlanna's beautiful face softened into a smile. For a moment, she forgot the danger around her.

Wait.

Her eyes widened. Why hadn't the monster killed her? Why bring her here, where a helpless baby lay? And why did she happen to have the food the child needed?

Coincidence? Impossible.

…

Boom!!

The ocean and the sky split apart at the same time.

The bone-spiked monster shot thousands of meters into the air, surrounded by the aura of destruction. It rose like a hurricane into the sun. No one saw the flicker of humanity cross its gray-white face.

Cold, confused, violent, struggling—

Half lost in the dream, half rational, Yi Meng as Doomsday pondered. If even his thoughts and will were being assimilated in the dream, what about reality?

In this dream world, he was too far gone. He could no longer wake himself by sheer force of will.

…

America. A small coastal town.

An old fisherman in rough linen stood on the pier, gazing at the crimson sky. His white beard and hair blew in the sea wind.

"Should I make a move? Right now, I may be the only one who can kill such a monster."

He muttered to himself.

Then, his cloudy eyes shone with sacred light, and he laughed softly. "When did I become so hesitant?"

"A new god?

Who says the age of the old gods has ended? We've been silent too long, and the world has forgotten us."

A powerful divine aura burst from his aged body, stirring the sea into roaring waves.

Besides, the monster was in his domain—the ocean. If he didn't act, his pride would never forgive it.

And in the sea, he was unkillable. Unless someone had Tears of Extinction, nothing could slay him.

Five thousand years ago, it was so. Five thousand years later, it remains so!

Not far away, on a tower in the town, Wonder Woman Diana turned sharply. Her eyes widened. "Impossible. That's… the aura of a living god!"

But it was completely different from the God of War.

It was another ancient god, still alive in this modern age.

On the pier, the old fisherman raised his hand. A massive wave crashed forward, and his body vanished into the seawater.

Deep within the Earth, in the royal tomb of Atlantis, silence was broken once again.

A current swirled and coalesced into the form of the old man. He reached toward the stone throne where an Atlantean king's skeleton still gripped a golden trident.

"Who?!"

A strange voice rang out, then grew sharp with excitement. "My lord… is it truly you?!"

"Just borrowing it… no, this trident was always mine."

As he pulled the glowing golden weapon free, the fisherman's body shone with divine silver light. His eyes and hair radiated majesty. He stood tall like a youth once more.

"Fight with me!!"
