Chapter 45 - HISD Chapter 45 Dragon Maiden Identity, Phoenix Power

HISD Chapter 45 Dragon Maiden Identity, Phoenix Power

DC Universe Dreamscape.

The battle of the gods had just ended with the sea beast slain and Poseidon fleeing without his trident.

The waves receded, and the whirlpools calmed.

The harsh light dimmed, the hurricane ceased.

The ocean surrounding the deserted island gradually smoothed, and as dusk fell, everything bathed in the hazy glow of the sunset.

On the island.

The terrifying bone-spiked form of Doomsday Yi Meng suddenly lifted his head. Everything around him—the island, the waves, the wind, even Atlanna and the son of Krypton not far away—froze in place.

At this moment, the vast, real DC dreamscape stopped in time.

Even the Doomsday incarnation halted completely, only the red glow in its eyes still flashed like molten lightning.

Yi Meng's consciousness, straddling the boundary of the dream, clearly sensed a perfect woman descending, her golden flaming wings unfurling, entering his subconscious from the real world.

How was this possible?

Ah… Yi Meng was vaguely aware.

This perfect woman did not truly exist in the real world. It was her consciousness—immensely powerful, able to penetrate the depths of his mind.

Her eyes were blindfolded, so her age was indiscernible. Her features were flawless, her figure tall and slender, her skin luminous and smooth, every detail perfect.

Especially her long, elegant legs, wrapped in the white robe, accentuating her curves to breathtaking effect.

As her golden flaming wings quivered, pure spiritual light radiated outward.

Dazzling, magnificent.

Yi Meng's consciousness wavered. The twisted personality of Doomsday being invaded was slowly purified. His overwhelming urge to destroy began dissolving bit by bit.

Not just his destructive drive, but all other desires were cleansed as well. Even a mere glance at her felt like sacrilege.

Under that unparalleled beauty and radiance, Yi Meng's consciousness entered a sage-like state of detachment, wanting only to offer up all secrets and memories.

He suddenly realized.

She was—

The Dragon Maiden.

In the real world, the supernatural guardian of the Eastern Territories.

Unseen by the eyes, only perceptible through telepathy, a psychic powerhouse.

So… Dragon Maiden was just a name. In reality, she was an avatar of telepathy, more like an incredibly glamorous humanoid phoenix.

Yi Meng's thoughts slowed further. The AI-enhanced will of his mind was immediately suppressed at her arrival.

Telepathy, phoenix wings…

A flash of insight struck his mind.

He remembered the Phoenix Force in Marvel's X-Men series—a similar ability.

The Phoenix Force was the most powerful ability in the X-Men universe. A manifestation of cosmic life and mental power, symbolizing life and emotion, capable of controlling minds and purging the sins of desire.

In Marvel, the Phoenix Force had many hosts, the most famous being Jean Grey.

If this was that power, Yi Meng felt his defeat was well deserved.

The golden wings of the Phoenix gently pried open his subconscious. His inner mind threatened to break free from the DC dreamscape, secrets exposed uncontrollably.

"If you can handle it, then everything is yours."

Yi Meng felt no anger. Instead, he was relieved, letting go entirely. He stopped resisting, willingly surrendering all control.

…

Intrusion Record: High School Student Yi Meng

Year 200, Star Dragon Era: Sole survivor in alien invasion with mysterious spherical lightning.

Upon containment, body temperature exceeded 50°C, white exoskeleton and other supernatural traits appeared, suspected alien invasion…

Further testing required…

…

The Dragon Maiden's mind focused, recalling the detailed report on the silver-haired boy in the isolated chamber.

She remembered reviewing it last week. At that time, no abnormal psychic intrusion was detected.

He was just an ordinary high school student… though valued by Dream Tifa, perhaps not entirely ordinary.

Unexpectedly, he got caught up in the alien incident in Tianhe City, recently classified as a B-level intrusion. He was even suspected of being invaded by a special alien organism.

A pitiful victim.

Her consciousness flowing, the Dragon Maiden initiated her psychic examination immediately.

Her golden flaming wings shimmered as she entered the mind of the boy lying in the high-security isolation chamber.

"How can this be…"

The moment she entered, her psychic avatar froze.

She could not locate the boy's consciousness.

Impossible!

Even medically diagnosed vegetative patients retain faint awareness deep in the brain.

Yet this boy's body lived, but his mind had vanished, like a living husk.

"Is he alive? Dead? Or controlled by an outside invader?"

The Dragon Maiden whispered, frowning.

Within the boy's mind, stray negative desires and wills filled the depths—ninety-nine percent of it—pure, inhuman destruction!

A murderer?

No, this destructive will far exceeded normal human limits.

He had been invaded and corrupted, severely. His self-awareness no longer existed, leaving only an empty shell.

A tragic victim.

The guardian Dragon Maiden made a preliminary judgment. Her psychic avatar flared its phoenix wings, scorching the remaining destructive will.

Rest in peace.

Pure destructive will, however, was far harder to erase than ordinary negative emotions.

Her consciousness fatigued, her wings dimmed slightly, finally cleansing the destructive will completely.

"I should be able to retrieve fragments of his memory, report them, and then dispose of this invaded boy's body…"

Her thoughts paused. Her flawless face froze.

The destructive will, just eradicated by the Phoenix Force, resurfaced.

Earlier, it had been a small stream of inhuman destructive will. Now, it surged like a vast, endless ocean.

The destructive will swept over her psychic avatar like a black tide, overwhelming everything.

The Dragon Maiden's mind shook. Never before had she encountered such uncontrolled negative will, like a mental virus.

If she stayed too long, even she could be consumed by this destructive will.
