HISD Chapter 57 City Fallen, Incarnation of Disaster

Inside Tianhe City.

Colossal, indescribable goat-like creatures moved through the fog, like mountains spanning the horizon. Buildings and infrastructure crumbled wherever they stepped, their true forms impossible to discern, filling observers with utter despair.

How could humans fight such giants?

Whoosh—!

Suddenly, a bright flare erupted from within the military base, shooting into the fog with a blazing tail directly toward the head of one of the goat-like creatures.

Boom!

In the next instant, a wave of intense light and heat exploded, tossing the fog in the sky and shaking everything nearby. Even covering your ears, the buzzing, strong wind, and aftershocks could be felt.

It was modern missile fire.

Inside the base, Pan Hu looked up, eyes reflecting the brilliant, destructive bombardment.

"Will it work? No, it has to work!"

He clenched his fists. In the city cut off by the fog, modern missiles were the military base's last trump card.

If even missiles couldn't stop the fog creatures…

In front of countless hopeful survivors, the black shadow of the goat-like creature paused briefly, then continued forward unharmed, crushing the temporary fireline and pushing ahead with brutal ease.

Rustle!

Without fire suppression, previously repelled mist tentacle monsters emerged again, joined by giant mist insects, birds, spiders, and mantises, all drawn to the commotion…

They surrounded the base, breaking through the armed perimeter and overrunning the defenses.

In an instant, the city's last "safe zone," the military base, fell. Tens of thousands of survivors panicked, fleeing in all directions.

Officers, soldiers, politicians, and tycoons—all became mere prey under the alien mist. Humans were far more fragile than they imagined.

Screams, wails, slaughter, and death played out in every corner.

"No, no!!"

Wang Xuan's eyes welled with tears as he watched his parents, standing beside him moments ago, being devoured by two massive tentacles from the fog.

"Brother! Help me!" Nearby, a bespectacled man was knocked down by a mist bird.

Wang Xuan trembled, hesitation flashing in his eyes. Finally, he rushed forward, grabbing a suitcase beside the bespectacled man and fleeing toward the outskirts.

"Help me… ah!" The man struggled but was sprayed with venom from another mist bird. His neck dissolved rapidly, resistance weakening.

"Sorry, sorry… I'll survive for you. I won't let the Wang family fall in my generation!"

Tears filled Wang Xuan's eyes. The suitcase in his hands quivered as if alive, faint steam and grinding noises emanating from within.

"Behave, you'll be my capital to start a new life in another city. After all, I created you!"

Wang Xuan's handsome face contorted with strain. He growled, clutching his abdomen, forcing himself to run through the terror.

At this moment, life-or-death situations were not uncommon. Some, however, acted selflessly.

"Mom… Dad…"

A ten-year-old girl lay on the ground, her innocent face streaked with dirt, staring fearfully at the chaos.

From the mist, a mist bird lunged at her.

"Watch out!"

At the last second, a dark, burly boy leapt, rolling with the girl to narrowly dodge the attack.

The mist bird shrieked, hesitated, then flew off in panic.

A suffocating shadow fell across the base.

Pan Hu, holding the girl, looked up in despair.

A massive hoof.

A black sheep-like hoof, the size of a tower, slammed down from the mist, crushing everything below like an ant under a human foot.

Against such a creature, all resistance was meaningless.

Death fell with the shadow.

Pan Hu held the girl tight, eyes closed, and found that several seconds later, they were still alive.

"This is…?"

He opened his eyes in disbelief.

The giant black hoof hovered just ten meters above the base, emitting a horrifying wail that split the mind.

The goat-like creature that had defied missiles now screamed in real pain.

Under the stunned gaze of the survivors, the colossal goat, struck as if by a massive blow, toppled backward toward the city.

Crash!

Buildings collapsed in waves, the ground shook, and dust blinded countless survivors.

No one knew what factor or presence had caused this terrifying creature to fall.

Many desperate survivors took the opportunity to flee toward the outskirts.

"Thank you! Thank you so much!"

A couple, eyes red, thanked Pan Hu as they took the girl from his arms.

"No need."

Pan Hu struggled to his feet. When he looked up, the couple and the girl had vanished into the fog with other survivors.

"I should go too."

He took a deep breath, planning to first escape the city, then use his officer uncle's connections to confirm the situation of the boss and Dream Tifa.

As Pan Hu turned to leave, a tremendous boom erupted.

Like a meteor, something crashed onto a nearby clearing, sending gusts of wind that tore through the fog.

Pan Hu instinctively looked, pupils freezing.

Before him stood a nearly two-meter-tall humanoid with perfect muscular curves armored in exoskeleton. Gray-white spines protruded from its back, and it wore tattered pants with a small, delicate magical doll swinging from its waist.

The humanoid's eyes burned with a violent, destructive red flame as it noticed Pan Hu.

The temperature around them shot up dramatically.

Pan Hu froze, unable to move or look away, staring into the abyss.

The humanoid exoskeleton creature ignored him, radiating pure destructive energy.

It was the incarnation of disaster—every action brought catastrophe.

Air and sound exploded around it, the ground caved in, and the mist surged violently.

The humanoid leapt toward the goat-like creatures trying to rise.

Only invasion can counter invasion.
