Chapter 21 - The quietest day of all 3

(Chapter of rain, you already know it, if you're not interested you can skip it.)

The futon's padding was almost non-existent. It felt as though he were lying on worn-out fabric; at best, it was more like an old rug. Even the texture was unpleasant it felt like a coarse scouring pad made all the more jarring by the contrast with the enchanting softness and warmth of the figure on top of him.

Rain's body lay over Sunny's exactly as she had come into the world. She slept peacefully, resting her head against Sunny's chest; like her, he was completely naked.

When his eyes fell upon her, he remembered everything that had happened and everything he had done to his little sister. He winced and slowly brought a hand to his head. Closing his eyes tight, he let out a long sigh.

'I... I did it... I actually did it,' he thought, clenching his jaw.

Deception overwhelmed him. The wretched sensation of having ruined everything in this manner cut deep into every fiber of his being. Though he felt profound regret, there was nothing left to prevent; it was all useless now. He had committed an atrocity.

He struggled to accept reality. It wasn't something he could simply take in stride and move on from; no matter what he did in the future to make amends, this would haunt him for the rest of his life. Even if he lived for centuries, he would likely remember this every single day. From now on, things were going to be complicated.

Despite his anguished expression, he fixed his eyes on Rain and observed her closely. Her eyelids were swollen from crying so much.

He swallowed hard, remembering how he had kept her awake for a long time during the night. In the final moments of pushing her beyond what she could endure, she had given her last desperate struggles with small whimpers and tearful babbles. He thought of her vacant gaze and the shared warmth that still lingered between them.

The unwanted but persistent memory took root inside him, causing both anguish and a sudden rush of blood to a specific point. He shook his head, trying to disperse these insidious and impure thoughts. He was managing to do so, though with great difficulty.

The movment from his shaking head caused Rain's sleep to be interrupted. She opened her eyes with the regret of not having slept as much as she should have.

Using her arms to push herself up, she closed her eyes and yawned sleepily; she usually did this every morning after waking up to help motivate herself for the day. The spot where she had been leaning was warm and soft, like a cozy mattress. Expecting the hard morning floor, she opened her eyes, trying to understand the anomaly.

Rain's awakening was quick barely a few seconds all of which Sunny watched from inches away. As she pushed herself up against him, he was able to appreciate the attributes that had previously been hidden beneath her skin. Her breasts fell with a soft, slow bounce, offering themselves before him while remaining firm. The final straw was her tender yawn.

Sunny's heart leaped violently. The blood he had tried to dissipate finished concentrating into an erection. The newly awakened Rain felt the warm pressure against her belly.

First, she looked at her master with an anguished expression, then she looked at herself, and finally, she lowered her gaze to the throbbing erection against her skin. It was her turn to be struck by the memories of the night. She looked back up, focusing on her master; his face was flushed, and as a result, she blushed too.

"Master?" Rain whispered, a vestige of emotion in her voice.

"Rain..." he struggled to even say her name.

They looked into each other's eyes with conflicting feelings.

Rain's heart throbbed with warmth; Sunny's, however, throbbed with panic. Sunny clenched his teeth and pushed himself back, trying to escape the tempting situation.

As he sat up abruptly, Rain lost her support. She instinctively tried to stabilize herself with her legs, but a sharp pain shot through her backside as she did. She let out a short, sudden shriek, as if she had been pricked by a needle. Without support, she fell clumsily, but instead of hitting the hard floor, she landed relatively softly between her master's legs.

She froze for a moment at the unexpected morning view. Right in front of her face was her master's hardened member; she had fallen right into his lap.

Sunny tried to pull back and then turn into a shadow to escape, but just as he was about to dissolve, a wet softness stopped him, forcing him to stay.

"Ghh!" he suddenly groaned.

He looked down at his lap and found Rain with half of his cock in her mouth.

"Hey! Stop—ah!" he tried to protest, but he was interrupted again as his member was fully engulfed by the warm cavity.

Sunny's arms and legs tensed as he felt her tongue caress him, soaking him with saliva. It was a clumsy but dedicated movement. Rain would dive fully against his lap and then pull back, dragging her lips along his length until they nearly separated, stopping at the very edge of the tip.

She did this only to dive back in as far as her inexperienced throat could handle. As she licked him, especially the tip, she was met with a slight salty taste mixed with a subtle hint of bitterness.

As she moved her head up and down, she focused her eyes upward. She saw her master scowling and clenching his jaw from the pleasure her fellatio was causing him. A sense of satisfaction was born in her chest, growing and growing; she felt a rush at the thought of pleasing him. She increased the intensity of her act, grabbing her master's hips and picking up the speed of her head movements.

In the midst of how absorbed and dedicated she was to her task, she remembered that this same member she was licking so passionately had, until recently, been inside her, causing waves of pain and pleasure in her rear. Naturally, this didn't stop her at all.

Sunny clenched his fists; he wanted to move to stop her, but his body wouldn't obey. Soon, he began to feel the familiar sense of urgency, nearing the climax. He clenched his jaw with all his might.

'Damn it... just this once... never again,' he managed to think, making a vow to himself.

With one hand, he grabbed Rain's head, holding her by the hair, and pushed her down hard, forcing her to take him deep into her mouth. In response, Rain pushed upward. She continued moving with determination; with every lick and every stroke, she learned something new, making fewer mistakes.

The instant before the climax, Sunny began to gasp audibly. Unintentionally, he looked down at Rain and met her eyes. She looked back at him piercingly, with undeniable emotion in her dark pupils.

"Shit," he growled, closing his eyes tight.

With one last powerful shove of Rain's head against his lap, the semen began to fire, flooding his sister's mouth.

Rain pushed back, separating from him with a wet popping sound. She coughed intensely; semen spilled and dripped from her mouth, running down her lips. The last few spurts fell onto her skin, staining her face. She felt the warm liquid hitting her skin and running down her features. A heavy load landed near her left eye, forcing it shut; another hit her nose, and a final one landed in her hair.

She coughed a few more times before she could breathe normally again. She took two deep breaths before leaning back and sitting on her heels, ignoring the stinging pain in her backside. Rain brought a hand to her face, touching the viscous liquid. She blushed at the thought she impulsively followed; she stared at the white fluid between her fingers before bringing them to her mouth. After licking them clean and swallowing the remains, she ran her fingers where the recent warm discharges had landed, cleaning her face as best she could. She licked her lips and, having collected enough of his seed, sucked her fingers greedily.

When she finished, with a timid slowness, she rested her hands in her lap and looked up, shrinking slightly before her master's figure.

Sunny was recovering from the morning orgasm; he made no sound other than his heavy gasping. When the gasps ceased, the room fell into a complete silence. He looked up at Rain, and a pang shot through his heart when he saw how messy he had left her. There were still traces of his recent ejaculation on her face and lips, despite her attempts to clean herself.

Rain shrank even further under his intense gaze, swallowing hard and crossing her arms to cover her exposed breasts.

"Good morning, Master..." she greeted, looking away.

"H-hello, Rain..." he replied by reflex.

The two of them, student and master, blushed deeply. Sunny's heart beat like a drum, his ears were ringing, and cold sweat began to bead from his pores. Rain's gaze was a tangle of emotions; he knew his own was the same.

'I did it again,' he thought, wincing. He bit his lip, grinding the flesh under his teeth. He lowered his gaze, falling into the remorse and guilt caused by having enjoyed himself with her in this way.

He snapped out of his stupor when he felt a weight on him. It was Rain's hand, placed on his chest. She crawled forward, maintaining her timid expression, and approached him. She intercepted his gaze; her eyes were fixed on his lips with a clear objective. Sunny's face contorted in panic.

Rain fell to the futon floor abruptly. The hard impact shook her all the way to her aching backside, and she scowled.

"Oohwww..." she whimpered. Waves of pain cut deep into her; she curled into a ball and instinctively reached for her rear, which she noticed was still damp from the night before.

Out of the corner of her eye, she managed to catch a shadow a blur moving away rapidly

After a few seconds of being curled in a ball, the pain subsided. Slowly and carefully, she turned onto her stomach to avoid further tormenting her backside. She looked around, bewildered; from one moment to the next, she was alone. Realizing her master had fled, she frowned and pouted.

"Dummy..." she muttered with a hint of sadness.

The shadow had passed under the door with urgency. Once outside, he found himself in the streets among the early morning commuters; he sought to avoid them. He slipped into a dark alley, as far as possible from people and safety, finding a blind spot where he could emerge. He stepped out of the shadows, manifesting with makeshift black clothing.

His legs lost their strength and he leaned against the wall. He breathed heavily and forcedly; his stomach hurt too much. He reflexively brought a hand to his mouth, but it did little help. Unable to contain it any longer, he emptied what little was in his stomach onto the alley floor.

He stumbled back, hitting a wall, and slid down until he was sitting. He buried his face in his hands, his features contorting with palpable guilt. His stomach still ached, but his chest also throbbed with very familiar palpitations.

"What did I do? Now what... what will I do? I did it again... it won't go away," he gripped his chest as he said the last part.

Rain breathed heavily after killing a Nightmare Creature. Her muscles burned; she was certain that if the hunt had lasted any longer, she would have collapsed, and that would have meant the end of her. But that didn't happen, and she emerged victorious as usual. This time, however, felt like the most difficult of all, as she had planned everything herself. She received no outside help other than the dark knife in her hand, stained with the blood of her victim.

She dropped to the ground, sitting and then throwing herself back into the ashen snow. She inhaled and exhaled deeply, finally letting her muscles rest. She would have to get back up, extract the creature's soul fragment, and then take it to be sold. It was noon; without guidance or help, it took her twice as long as usual. She used to be back in Ravenheart by noon or shortly after at the latest but here she was just finishing the kill. Even with time nipping at her heels, if she didn't relax her muscles, she wouldn't be able to do anything.

"Master..." she murmured to herself.

She missed him terribly, missed his constant company. The fact that he was no longer with her felt extremely strange unnatural.

The day after they had spent the night together, her master stopped appearing continuously. At first, she thought he was just acting shy; she even found it somewhat cute that the ancient shadow was intimidated by his own student. She convinced herself it was like the plot of some webtoons.

But as the days passed, she began to grow uneasy. She continued her daily routine on her own, which kept her busy. In any case, it wasn't that her master had abandoned her; he was there, she could feel him. Occasionally he would say things to her very specific, brief remarks nothing more than a few words.

When she woke up in the morning or after a long nap, he would have a plate of food ready for her, as delicious as ever.

But that only made her miss him more. Lying on the white ground, her subtly happy expression from her success turned melancholy. She had acted exactly as her master had taught her to hunt. When she woke up today, there was a black dagger beside her backpack; this had filled her with hope that he would appear if she successfully hunted the creature.

Minutes passed and her hopes weren't being met; she was still alone. She sat up with difficulty; she knew he was watching her, she could feel it.

"Aren't you even going to congratulate me? I worked so hard. I train and get stronger only for you, you know? I'm worrying my parents by moving to such a remote place solely and exclusively for you! So at least congratulate me, won't you?"

Following her declaration, her voice was lost in the mountain, leaving barely an echo behind. She remained expectant in the silence, praying inwardly for her hopes to come true. It was something subtle, but she felt it; she had lived with him long enough to notice the slight fluctuation in the atmosphere. Her sad expression turned to one of surprise. Following the spark of feeling in her chest, she spun around abruptly.

Standing a few paces away, there he was.

As if her muscles weren't aching with exhaustion, she suddenly burst into motion, standing up clumsily and, without wasting another second, ran toward him. She raised her arms, wanting to catch him, and jumped toward his chest; she wanted to hug him, to be held. She longed to curl up in his arms and for him to kiss her as passionately as she remembered from that one night.

But contrary to her expectations, she jumped and caught nothing. Well, she caught something: it was dirt, snow, and ash. She fell face-first onto the ground. She scrambled up and looked both ways, bewildered; she swore she had grabbed him, or at least seen him.

She wiped the dirt from her face with her sleeve and took another look around. To her left, standing beside a tree, was her master. Now that she looked at him closely, he had an anguished, sorrowful face.

She stood up, ignoring the new pain in her ribs, and ran toward him using the same technique. Just like her first attempt, she failed to cling to him; this time, she clung to the hard tree, which she gave a very blunt kiss. This same sequence occurred a few more times; Rain was determined not to fail.

Sunny looked at the disheveled Rain; covered in mud, sweat, and ash, she looked as though she had been rolling in the muck which wasn't far from the truth. She was panting, catching her breath after her seventh attempt to catch him.

"Are you done playing?" Sunny sighed, sounding weary.

Rain got up from the ground for the eighth time."No, not yet," she replied, breathing heavily.

Sunny closed his eyes and let out a sigh he had been holding for a long time. Rain charged at her master once more, preparing to crash again, but this time was different. She hit something both hard and soft at once; as they collided, two arms wrapped around her.

He held the girl in an embrace, pulling her close. After her persistence, he felt forced to give in a little; it had been a while since they had spoken, and he had begun to miss her too. He stroked her head affectionately, as if petting a puppy.

"Congratulations. You killed a dormant beast," he praised her.

Rain looked up with an incredulous expression; her surprised face gave away that she hadn't expected to succeed.

"And... how have you been? Ha, dumb question, isn't it? I know exactly how you are. Maybe I should ask something else lik—" he was cut off as he slammed back-first onto the ground.

His eyes went wide; he hadn't seen the sudden reversal coming at all. He had lost his balance. The truth was that Rain, using one of the techniques she had learned from her master, had kicked one of Sunny's legs and, with him momentarily losing his footing, she took him down. Sunny froze as he felt the warm and very familiar softness of lips pressing against his own. Rain, straddling him, cupped his face and sank into a kiss. All of this happened before he could react; it took him completely by surprise.

His brow contorted in horror, his breath hitched. He froze at the exquisite sensation of her lips fitting perfectly against his. His heart throbbed in that way he was so familiar with the same familiarity that tormented him. His arms lay motionless at his sides, reluctant to interrupt the moment. Making a great effort, he raised them and grabbed Rain's shoulders.

He pushed Rain back, breaking the kiss; a long string of saliva resisted giving way, connecting their lips for a few moments longer. He could hear Rain's heart beating intensely, exactly like his own. He looked at her flushed face, her parted lips, and her dilated pupils.

"Brother..." she murmured, barely more than a whisper, but perfectly audible to Sunny.

Something inside him shifted at her words something that shouldn't happen under any circumstances, yet it did anyway, rebelling against him, against all morality. But this time, primitive desire wasn't enough to make him yield to temptation; the anguish of repeating his same mistakes was greater than the persistent feeling in his chest.

"I'm sorry. That... it can't be... it can't," he said sharply. It cost him to say it; they were words he never expected to utter after everything.

Before anything else could tempt him, he sank into a pool of shadows and vanished, leaving Rain on her knees on the ground.

Rain stared at the floor, her eyes wide; her blush faded along with her enamored heartbeat. She stared at the spot where her master had been, clutching the snow between her hands.

She sighed and stood up, despite her exhausted muscles. With a neutral expression, as if nothing had ever happened, she picked up the obsidian knife and approached the dead Nightmare Creature. She plunged the knife in, extracting the soul fragment with mechanical coldness. She detached the sled from her large backpack and tied the creature onto it, just as she always did. She looped the ropes over her shoulders and began the march toward the city.

She could have been saddened, but she wasn't. It wasn't that she was hiding it; on the contrary, she was happy so happy she couldn't help but smile, her cheeks flushing with the energy of her thoughts even as she panted while pulling the sled.

'I haven't lost. This is progress in my conquest. Master, you will fall for me! You'll be at my feet, apologizing for being so dumb as to try and reject your cute student!' she declared to herself. She looked straight ahead with absolute determination.

"You will love me. Count on it," she proclaimed.

A shadow hidden within Rain's own shadow trembled and shrank.
