Chapter 133 - The Bounty of the Underground Gold Exchange

Using his perception ability, Uchiha Shigure saw a hidden wall and then, along with Hayashi Rei, directly entered the underground exchange office.

The underground exchange office was dimly lit, and a seemingly weak person guarded it, like a doorman.

"Hmm? You are..." The person looked at Shigure and Rei for a long time, seemingly recalling who they were.

"I see... you are Senbon and Lord Kakuzu!" the doorman said.

"Oh? To even know the name of a rogue ninja of Senbon's caliber, it seems that guy has taken many missions here," Shigure affirmed.

"It's truly astonishing that Lord Kakuzu would partner with someone like Senbon," the doorman said with a hint of mockery.

"I have a special purpose for bringing him; otherwise, I would have killed him long ago," Shigure played along, not arousing his suspicion.

"Oh? Is Lord Kakuzu here to take another mission?" the guard ninja said. "The usual place to take missions."

Only then did Shigure and Rei pass the initial interrogation.

Inside the underground exchange office, many people looked at Shigure with ill intent, but no one dared to act. Rei also sensed the surrounding malice and couldn't help but feel a little scared.

"Don't be afraid; don't forget our mission," Shigure whispered.

Rei then braced herself; the killing intent and the smell of corpses here were more than she could handle.

"Let me see the latest bounties; I've always been interested in money!" Shigure said directly to the person who posted and took missions.

The person looked up and said, "Ah, it's you. There have indeed been some new bounties recently, and the rewards are quite generous, but they're not for killing."

"Not for killing... that's not very interesting, but I won't turn down money," Shigure acted again.

The person then nodded, took out a mission book, and said, "Capture the son of a wealthy merchant from the Land of Wind alive and bring him to the usual place. The mission reward is very generous."

"Recently, it seems to be all kidnapping missions... I wonder who's posting them? Surely the Daimyo wouldn't be this idle, would they?" The mission poster casually muttered a few words, which shocked Shigure internally.

"Daimyo... that means many of the underground exchange office's missions are posted by Daimyo... not relying on their own village's ninja, but using underground forces? It truly is the dark side of ninja!" Shigure analyzed.

"It seems I was right! The recent kidnapping missions are indeed all posted from the underground exchange office. It looks like I'll have to inquire about Amahara Suisen's location," Shigure then asked directly.

"Hey, after capturing the enemy alive, do I take them to the usual place? Where is the usual place?" Shigure asked directly.

The person was visibly stunned, then laughed, "Lord Kakuzu! The usual place is the usual place! You haven't forgotten where it is, have you...? Could it be? You're not Lord Kakuzu?" The person clearly became suspicious.

The people around, who had looked at them with ill intent, were also ready to act at any moment.

Shigure immediately began to analyze the location of the "usual place."

"Could it be... the usual place refers to the morgue? I'll take a gamble!"

Shigure then burst out laughing, "Hahahahaha!"

"The usual place, isn't it where we go after every mission? I just wanted to see if you were someone transformed by a Transformation Jutsu, that's all," Shigure argued forcefully.

"Lord Kakuzu, you're joking. How could I be transformed by a Transformation Jutsu? Then I'll leave this mission to you. Remember, you must capture him alive, or there might be trouble," the mission poster reminded.

"By the way, I wanted to ask, have there been any changes to the recent bounty ranking for heads?" Shigure knew that the underground exchange office always had prices for heads, and those who dominated the top ten were often important government officials, the Kage of certain ninja villages, and people with the most potential value.

"Such a thing, would it exist?" Senbon also asked softly.

"Of course, it would," Shigure whispered.

The person also smiled and shook his head, saying, "There's no helping it. If it's Lord Kakuzu, then it's no problem. As one of the top ten on the assassin leaderboard, it's perfectly normal for you to complete top ten bounties."

"Enough talk! Don't waste any more time," Shigure urged; in his memory, Kakuzu wasn't very patient.

"Alright, alright." Then the person took out a scroll, which recorded the top ten underground bounties in the ninja world.

"The first isn't me? It seems my reputation is great, but I haven't incurred various resentments yet." Shigure saw that the identity of the first place was actually the Third Mizukage.

"It's... like that... no wonder there were so many betrayals in Kirigakure," Rei said, utterly shocked.

"Besides the Third Mizukage, there's also the Third Hokage, and various Daimyo, important officials, and others. Every one of them is an influential figure... Even I, who am familiar with the plot, didn't know that the underground exchange office had such influence..." Rei suddenly tapped Shigure and pointed at the bounty list, "Look! Shigure, there are also the Sannin, Minato Namikaze, and your name."

Sure enough, Shigure saw his name after the fifteenth spot, ranking sixteenth.

"It seems my bounty isn't that high. At least, the ninja of my own country haven't added any bounties for me. After all, though my reputation is great, most ninja villages haven't seen me. This bounty is just other countries wanting to suppress me, which is within the normal range."

"However, to be sixteenth on the underground bounty list at only five years old... that's actually quite high, isn't it?" The mission poster then asked, "Lord Kakuzu, whoever you want to kill, just kill them and bring them to the usual place."

Shigure nodded, patted the person's shoulder, and said, "Alright, that's it then. I hope I'll see you again next time I come. I'm leaving now."

The person felt a bit strange but didn't think much of it, and Shigure and Rei left the underground exchange office.

"How was it, Shigure? We don't know where the usual place is, do we?" Rei asked.

"I can probably guess... the usual place should still be within the underground exchange office," Shigure said. "I left a Hiraishin Jutsu formula when I patted that person just now. Let's wait until he's alone."

Shigure's dōjutsu could clearly see the mission poster. After a while, he seemed to be going to the restroom. As he entered the restroom, Shigure directly used Hiraishin to teleport with Rei.

Before the person could even resist.

Shigure's Sharingan was already activated.

"Now! Tell me! Where is the usual place!?"

The person was under genjutsu, his consciousness very unclear.

"The usual place is the morgue... in another room of this underground exchange office..." "Alright, erase his memory!" Shigure erased the person's memory and then returned to the bounty office with Rei.

"Is that it?" Shigure saw another secret door.
