"What!?"
"I said..." Hayashi Rei was about to respond when she realized that Uchiha Shigure wasn't looking in her direction at all.
A rustling sound emanated from all around.
Clearly, someone was moving quickly on the ground in all directions.
"Watch out! Enemies!" Shigure clearly saw four black shadows and immediately warned.
"Fire Style: Headhunter!" Suddenly, a tsunami-like wave of flames surged towards the four.
"Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!" Hayashi Rei quickly unleashed a B-rank Water Style ninjutsu, but it was clear that Rei's chakra was not as powerful as the enemy's.
The Headhunter jutsu had a wider range, instantly breaking through the Water Dragon and once again rushing in from the edges.
"Water Style: Water Wall!" Rei didn't give up and unleashed another B-rank defensive Water Style, which this time completely blocked the enemy's Fire Style attack.
"Earth Style: Earth Spear!" A figure directly extended its arm, which had turned black, piercing through the Water Wall and attacking Rei with a black tentacle attached.
"This is bad!" Rei no longer had time to parry the attack.
"Clang! Thud!" Shigure naturally used a Body Flicker, swiftly drew his Dragonfang Blade, and slashed down. The hardened arm, connected by a black tentacle, was actually severed directly by Shigure.
Shigure immediately followed up with a kick, sending the arm flying.
"What!?" The opponent was clearly shocked.
Shigure then said to Rei, "That's enough... Rei, he's not someone you can handle right now. Can you help me take these two beauties and retreat first? I'll catch up."
"Sorry! The mission is over! We're not a team anymore! I have no reason to listen to you..." Rei said stubbornly. "Since it's a powerful opponent... we should face them together..."
"The mission isn't over... We're still a team! They haven't returned home yet. You're responsible for getting them back, and I'll cover the rear." Shigure said in an undeniable tone.
"Shigure... be careful." Amahara Suisen knew that no one could persuade Shigure now, and she was just a burden.
Shigure shook his head and said, "Go! I'll catch up with you, I promise!"
"Flying Thunder God Jutsu!"
"No!"
Shigure sent the three away directly, then immediately rushed back.
And then, the enemy no longer hid himself.
"That's truly impressive! To have mastered the Second Hokage Tobirama Senju's Flying Thunder God Jutsu so skillfully. Is that how you stole my mission?" The person in front had green eyes, wore a black cloak, and a Hidden Waterfall Village rogue ninja headband, with a very distinctive hat on his head.
"It's you after all, Kakuzu! You won't get past me!" Shigure said indifferently.
"Oh? As a mere brat, you know my name? That's quite something. You let all the people I captured go... That really pisses me off... But it doesn't matter. As long as I kill you, they won't survive... To consider burdens as a team? How naive! In this ninja world, there is only betrayal. Money is the only thing that will never betray you — money is the truth of the world!"
Kakuzu clasped his hands, and then his black blood vessels began to emerge like snakes.
"Since you're Uchiha Shigure, bounty number sixteen, I'll take you a little more seriously. After all, your bounty isn't low... As for your so-called comrades..." Kakuzu narrowed his eyes, and a black shadow suddenly emerged from his back, chasing in the same direction as Suisen, Rei, and the other two at an incredibly fast speed.
"Whoosh!" Shigure disappeared with a Body Flicker, and when he reappeared, the Dragonfang Blade in his hand directly slammed the dark figure heavily to the ground.
"Bang!" The dark, masked figure howled in pain.
"Oh?" Kakuzu was also a little surprised. "So that's it... The blade on your back isn't just for show... Indeed... I can't catch them without defeating you, can I?"
The black figure instantly returned to Kakuzu's back.
Shigure said indifferently, "I think I already told you, didn't I? You won't get past me!"
"Good spirit! But I wonder about your actual strength!" Kakuzu didn't intend to waste any more time.
"Secret Technique: Earth Grudge Fear!" Kakuzu directly activated his Earth Grudge Fear mode, and his cloak was torn open by his own blood vessels, exposing his entire upper body.
Immediately after, a large number of black tentacles, controllable by chakra, appeared on Kakuzu's back.
"Whoosh!" Shigure immediately extracted chakra, his eyes already turning into pale blue Sharingan. Without a word, Shigure activated a genjutsu through his Sharingan.
"This is! Sharingan!?"
Kakuzu instantly became unable to move, and Shigure quickly used Body Flicker to approach Kakuzu.
"Is it genjutsu!? Release!" Kakuzu was extremely experienced in combat. As soon as he realized he was caught in a genjutsu, he immediately released it. However, Shigure's speed was even faster!
The Dragonfang Blade, drawn, had already quickly pierced Kakuzu's heart.
"Ah!" Kakuzu was shocked. He had never expected the brat in front of him to kill him in a single encounter.

"What?" Shigure didn't understand.

"Ah!" Kakuzu's mouth directly spewed out countless black tentacles, attacking Shigure. Shigure cut them open with a single slash, then quickly formed hand signs and shouted: "Fire Style: Great Fire Annihilation!"
"Water Style: Water Formation Wall!" Kakuzu immediately used a Water Style defensive ninjutsu, but very quickly, Shigure's Great Fire Annihilation broke through Kakuzu's defense.
"Earth Style: Earth-Style Wall!" Kakuzu formed hand signs again, yet again, Shigure's Fire Style broke through.
"To have such powerful Fire Style! Is this the power of the Uchiha?" Although Kakuzu didn't stop the Great Fire Annihilation, he did buy himself time to evade.
While evading, Kakuzu's wounds were quickly stitched up by the tentacles produced by Earth Grudge Fear. Although Shigure had destroyed one of his hearts in a single encounter, he was clearly serious now and would not easily let Shigure get close again.
"This brat is very fast! Swordsmanship and speed... Does that mean ninjutsu is his weakness? Let's test him!" Kakuzu then made a decision.
"Kid! Try my ninjutsu!" Immediately after, two masked demons burst out from Kakuzu's back.
"Fire Style: Headhunter!"
"Wind Style: Pressure Damage!"
"Compound Ninjutsu: Blazing Wind Storm!" The demons on Kakuzu's back directly unleashed two different ninjutsu attacks. The compound ninjutsu formed by mixing wind and fire attributes had infinite power! Shigure knew this all too well.
"Are you going to bombard me like this from the start?"
However, Shigure showed no tension. He simply slowly took out a Flying Thunder God kunai.
"Brat! Are you going to take my attack head-on?! Naive!"
"The same words go to you..."
