Chapter 18 - Chapter 35 & 36

Chapter 35: Aomi Teacher Souta

The woman then placed one hand on her chest.

"I will start first. My name is Aomi. From now until you graduate, I will be your teacher!"

Souta observed Aomi closely. The woman had short light blue hair, bright blue eyes, and wore a brown short-sleeved shirt with dark blue pants. Her demeanor was calm, but there was something in Aomi's voice that conveyed firmness.

After Aomi introduced herself, she pointed to one of the students in the front row.

"Now, starting with you."

One by one, the students began to introduce themselves. Some appeared confident, while others spoke softly and shyly.

Finally, it was Souta's turn.

Souta took a breath and began to speak in a relaxed tone.

"My name is Souta. What I like... hmm... I like eating and reading. What I don't like..." Souta frowned slightly before continuing. "I don't like talkative people."

A few students chuckled quietly, while others listened calmly.

"My dream?" Souta paused for a moment, his eyes becoming more serious. "For now, I just want to become stronger, so I can survive in this world."

For a moment, the class fell silent. Some students looked a bit surprised, while others began to think about the meaning of Souta's words.

Aomi herself stared at Souta with an unreadable expression. However, after a few seconds, a faint smile reappeared on Aomi's face.

Without commenting, Aomi then continued the introductions with the next student.

The atmosphere in the classroom gradually returned to normal, but some students still occasionally glanced at Souta with curiosity.

Sunagakure Ninja Academy.

The classroom filled with students felt quiet after the introductions were over. All eyes were on a woman at the front of the class with light blue hair and a Sunagakure headband neatly placed on her forehead. She was Aomi, one of the instructors at the Ninja Academy. With a good physique and sharp eyes, Aomi looked at all the students in the class with an authoritative gaze.

"Alright," Aomi said, her voice clear and firm, capturing the attention of all the students. "Now that everyone has introduced themselves, I will explain the Academy's schedule."

Aomi cleared her throat before continuing, allowing the students to absorb the information well.

"In one week, you will attend for six days, from Monday to Saturday," Aomi said, walking slowly in front of the class with her hands behind her back. "During that time, you will learn various things. General education such as reading, writing, and basic arithmetic will be your main foundation. Additionally, you will also study the history of Sunagakure Village and the Ninja World."

Some students nodded in understanding, while others looked a bit confused. Aomi stopped walking, gazing at them for a moment before continuing.

"However, being a ninja is not just about theory. Therefore, you will also learn the basic concepts of Chakra—what Chakra is, how to use it, and how to properly manipulate it. Furthermore, you will also engage in regular physical training."

The atmosphere in the classroom became more serious. Some students began to straighten their backs, while others appeared a bit nervous.

"The physical training includes long-distance running to improve stamina, body endurance training, and agility exercises to get accustomed to quick movements. You will also learn about body balance, movement coordination, and basic unarmed combat techniques—light Taijutsu. Additionally, you will be introduced to basic ninja weapons such as Kunai and Shuriken, as well as how to use them effectively."

Aomi scanned the entire class, observing the various reactions on her students' faces. Some looked excited, some appeared cautious, and others seemed anxious.

Chapter 36: Pakura's Concerns

One of the students who seemed silent and contemplative was Souta.

Souta looked at the instructor with an unreadable expression. His heart was racing. Souta did not expect the Academy to have so many subjects and quite intense physical training.

Souta knew that becoming a ninja was not easy, but hearing the long list of lessons and training firsthand made him realize how difficult the journey ahead would be.

However, among all the things explained, there was one thing that immediately caught Souta's attention.

Without thinking twice, Souta raised his right hand.

"Excuse me!" Souta called out, his voice slightly loud.

The other students turned to look at Souta, while Aomi raised an eyebrow before finally directing her gaze at him.

"Yes? What is it?" Aomi asked, her tone slightly confused.

Souta swallowed hard before asking, "Does that mean we have to have our own books?"

The classroom fell silent.

Aomi stared at Souta for a moment before answering with a slow nod. "Of course."

That answer felt like a heavy stone dropping right onto Souta's shoulders.

Souta froze in place, his mind racing.

"Books...? I have to buy books...?"

Souta's blood felt like it froze instantly.

As an orphan living alone in the village, Souta's finances were already very limited. He struggled just to survive day by day, and now he had to buy books and stationery for his studies? That was something Souta had never even considered before.

Souta's fingers clenched tightly around his pants under the desk. He tried to hold back the sudden tightness in his chest.

However, before his anxiety could deepen, Aomi's voice was heard again.

"Don't worry," Aomi said in a softer tone. "For orphans who successfully enter the Ninja Academy, the village has established a rule that they will be provided with books and stationery for free. So, you don't need to worry."

Souta quickly lifted his face.

His eyes widened, staring at Aomi in clear shock.

Free...?

Souta couldn't hide his surprise. Aomi, seeing Souta's reaction, only smiled faintly.

Souta realized he had been staring at his teacher for too long, and his face immediately turned red. He hurriedly looked down and turned away, feeling embarrassed.

"Alright," Aomi said again, looking at all the students in the class. "Are there any other questions?"

No one spoke.

"Then, I will continue explaining the schedule of the Ninja Academy."

**Evening – The Journey Home.**

The sky began to turn orange, signaling that the sun would soon set. The village of Sunagakure looked beautiful in the golden light illuminating its stone and sand buildings. The warm desert wind blew gently, causing fine grains of sand to dance in the village streets.

Souta walked home in silence, his steps relaxed but his mind still filled with thoughts about everything that had happened today.

Beside Souta, a girl with green hair walked calmly. Pakura, Souta's classmate, kept pace beside him without saying much.

However, suddenly, a soft yet clear voice was heard from beside Souta.

"Hey."

Souta turned and saw Pakura looking at him with a slightly hesitant expression.

"What is it?" Souta asked, continuing to walk.

Pakura was silent for a moment, then lowered her head. Her voice was quiet when she finally spoke.

"... Do you think I can become a ninja?"

Souta's steps slowed slightly.

He looked at Pakura with slightly widened eyes, surprised to hear that question.

"Why do you ask that?"

Pakura bit her lip softly. "I don't know," she said in a low voice. "It's just... I feel worried. What if I'm not good enough? What if I fail?"

Souta stared at Pakura in silence.
