As it tended to be the case with rebirth, he was born to a new family, one in this new world, and it was unlike anything he had experienced in his old world.
He was born to royalty, well, nobility, to be more precise. His family was next in line if the current royals ever tragically passed, and due to this, they were made to live in the darkest, farthest pits of the kingdom.
A place that came to be known as the Nightmare Pits.
After all, they can't get you killed, if you get them killed them first, right?
Such was the nature of a relationship when such positions of power were in place.
Just to be sure, they even gave his family the title of Duke, second only to the Royals themselves.
Their isolation in the dark land filled with monsters, dry soil, and extreme temperatures created a way of life that was different from the rest of the kingdom.
This land that had been cursed long ago by the spell of an ancestor, was now both their cage, and home.
They lived there and grew used to it, even developing specific traits before the time of the boy who would conquer fiction had come.
They were often tall and muscular due to the constant exercise to defeat monsters, and having to work the land into something usable, even with its low nutrition, some seeds still bore fruit.
Occupying the land most east of the kingdom, on the opposite side of the sea, that was their land.
After being born, he was named Relious Daisy Noctis.
Soon upon being born, he was faced with a weird world.

14 years later, he was standing in his room looking out the window into the world, and he saw it, the dark barren land that made his family into a warrior clan.
His reflection showed in that same window, as his purple hair had grown long, and his face had matured a lot already, getting closer to the look his character had during character creation.
Already standing at 1,75cm(5'8ft), he was growing better than in his past life.

The soil outside, was perhaps a darker shade of black than the permanent night sky, dead trees, or perhaps just monsters pretending it was hard to tell at a distance, especially with all the green fog outside, but he knew where he was.
Years of questions between his training and the first as well as only family meeting he was a part of showed him everything he needed to know.
He's in Mewni.
"Being a Mewman doesn't feel different… then again if I'm remembering right they used to be human… I think, the ancestors or something." He paced around his room moving away from the window, and his clothes were as black as the ground outside as the cape of his hooded cloak flailed at the movement.
There wasn't much change for him, it felt just like being human, though he was much more athletic this time around, not by choice, but for the lack of it.
In the nightmare pits, it was do or die, as only 3 of the 19 other children his parents had made it past the age of 1.
The cold and the green fog that caused sickness when inhaled in large quantities, which for someone living there, was not quite easy to avoid, much less as a newborn.
"I would have died a baby if I didn't have my old memories… That, and the system." He smiled as he opened the menu and selected his status screen.
This was the only feature it had right now, and it alone pushed him to survive until now.

Looking at the extensive status screen, he found himself smiling at it.
"Ok, now I should go have breakfast. I wonder if my request was accepted… It has to be, I actually want to leave this place." He sighed to himself as he made his way to the dining room, moving through the darkness in the room like a lake.
As his clothes blended into the darkness, it was hard to see anything other than his head and hair.
After closing his status screen, and walking off, he soon found himself in the dining room.

In there, there were 4 women, his 3 sisters, and his mother, all of them turned to him with smiles as soon as he came into view.
"Oh, if it isn't my strong boy? Soon to be Duke of the Nightmare pits, to what do I owe such a pristine figure a visit?" His mother giggled at her own words.
Angeline, The Brazen Brawler, was a strong fighter, and a mother uncontested in combat throughout their entire Dukedom and some would say beyond it too, even her own husband could not beat her in one-on-one unarmed combat.
Long dark straight hair, and an unassuming delicate look that made the rumors, and tales about her sound like pure blasphemy, a calm life look that seemed like an abyss ready to swallow you whole into those dark grey eyes.
She looked cold, freezing even, and getting too close was likely deadly. Sharp features on a long elegant face with pompous reddish lips that called to action right above a bridge nose slightly up in inclination.
Light-looking make-up on her face that with her long lashes made the world seem to stop, and right at the base of her long neck, a necklace with a green gem, the same type of dark green as the fog outside.
A stunning lady standing at 189cm(6'2 ft) tall, with the physique of a warrior and the curves of a dancer, right under the veil of an elegant noblewoman.

Once weapons were involved it was another story. That was his field, and how he ruled their land.
Immediately his sisters followed, laughing at the question.
"I do leave my room regularly, you know," Relious responded with a slight frown.
"As if, you're locked up in there half of the time! These days! Dad would have-…." She yelled, before stopping herself and crossing her arms. "Forget it, you should be with us more, though."
The youngest sister was Kuvia, The Raven Child, a strong-headed girl ready to bulldoze through life, one way or the other. Known to mimic voices like they are her own.
A young little lady coming right up after her sisters, a blazing look capable of burning if you stare too long.
Two big tails of hair coming from the top and going their separate ways, held up by a ribbon each, in an attempt to contain her wild black curls, and yet they remain as free as ever.
Those gray eyes caught in the moment as the little warrior despite having a defined physique, and skill to match many of them, was in the end, still just a girl, one standing at 1,43cm(4'8 ft) with a flat figure.

There was an air of frustration to her words, and even the other faces on the table went from laughing to weak almost sour.
"Anyway! I think it's good that you're here, now sit down and eat, we've got some news for you." Cutting through the silence, another one of the sisters.
The eldest, Marline, interjected with a smile, being known as The Dream Within a Nightmare, it was no surprise for her to move things along towards a more positive conversation.
Having soft features with sharp cuts and wearing a veil, she carried the purest smile at the table as her golden eyes flowed from one to the other almost like she could see all their movements even if by mistake.
Her medium straight dark brown hair went along with her turning to her brother ready to relay the news.
Standing at 1,77cm(5'9ft) with the same warrior-type physique as those around her, and pronounced curves, as she leaned in, and put a hand right next to her next and said.

"Star said she'll come, but she wants to bring her little friend around. Oh, and of course, she's still mad at you, a lot." There was a playful smile on her face as each word left her mouth.
"Urgh… Still mad?… At least she agreed to come." Relious frowned deeply as he rubbed his temple.
"Tch… That's your fault for getting yourself banned from the Butterfly Palace. Firstly, why were you even snooping around for? And more importantly… You still didn't tell us what you did to Star." A calm voice that had a serenity similar to their mother, but less cold came to talk, the middle sister.
There was no judgment in her purple eyes, or her expression as her bang braids rested on her shoulders with a ribbon at the top, only a sense of morbid curiosity and mild suspicion.
Elesia, The Medicine to Bitterness, was a healer, who would get the job done… Her own way.
Having rounder features than her mother, and sisters, she had the aura of the easiest to approach, and her demeanor didn't disprove this idea.
Dressed in the same black as the rest of the family, this young lady stands at 1,64cm(5'4ft), with the curves to match her warrior physique.

"Huh?… It's complicated…" Relious forced a smile as he responded.
"It's obvious! This pervert did something improper to her!" Kuvia pointed a finger at Relious and stomped her foot on the table while doing it.
"Would you calm down? You're accusing Rel of something serious here, you can't just do that because you're mad at him." Marline shook her head lightly in disbelief at her sister's temperament.
"Yeah, she's right, while we can file that under possible causes, he has too much plausible deniability as it stands, only Star can give us reliable information on that, and she never talks about it," Elesia added with a blank expression.
"I'm right here! What about my side of the story?" Relious raised an eyebrow at her.
"Meh, you're the assuced and, I don't really believe you." Elesia shrugged.
"I didn't say anything yet!" Relious had his right eye twitch as he yelled at her.
"Precisely, I already don't believe you, so I would rather listen to a more reliable source." Elesia was unfazed by his complaints.
"You… I see, you're trying to bait me into talking. Well played." Relious let out air from his nose as he sighed.
"Not really, I just don't tru-" Elesia was stopped as Marline covered her mouth before she could say anymore.
"She's just being playful, she loves to get on your nerves," Marline said as she made sure Elisia could not speak anymore.
"Urgh! You keep defending him! He's guilty! A tea party missing guilty bastard! Off with his head!" Kuvia yelled at him again.
Among all the chaos, was Angeline, simply watching her kids get along with a smile that carried both happiness, and a deep sorrow, as she was reminded of the missing piece of the puzzle.
Still, she smiled because she still had a lot to do, for them.
For the family, it was just another morning, but they didn't know that their guest would come around earlier than they expected.
All this as it all shapes up to be another day in this weird world.
