Chapter 234 - Chapter 234 Decoration!

To put it bluntly, Sirius isn't particularly reliable in the eyes of most adults in the Wizarding World, which is a common failing for Gryffindors.

The difference is that after Gryffindors settle down and start a family, or after being thoroughly hammered by society, they gradually rein in their impulsiveness and sharp edges, like the ordinary Weasley couple or ordinary Lupin, but Sirius isn't like that.

Although he was indeed hammered, it was mainly by the Dementors of Azkaban, not by the intrigue and various frustrating and messed-up interpersonal relationships of so-called adult society. As a result, his experiences are one-to-one more, but he hasn't matured much; he's basically the same as he was before being imprisoned in Azkaban.

This is also why the Weasley couple were reluctant to let Ron go to Sirius's house. It wasn't about anything trivial; they were purely afraid that Sirius's brilliant ideas would get the Little Wizards killed.

If Harry hadn't been so unwilling, they would have even tried to fight Sirius for Harry's custody, but unfortunately, they couldn't win because, whether in the Muggle world or the magic world—and the magic world part is thanks to Dumbledore's endorsement—Harry's custody is firmly held by the Dursley Family, even though they don't seem very willing... at least on the surface.

The other two families didn't have as much internal drama as the Weasley Family. Neville's parents also knew Sirius's character, after all, they had worked together in the Order of the Phoenix and were even classmates in the same year. Moreover, Sirius had recently been cleared of his injustice, so his character was also guaranteed.

Well, it has nothing to do with character.

They all had the same thought: although they didn't think Sirius was very reliable, they had a full understanding of his magical strength. One could say that if Sirius's fighting will was fully unleashed, in a pure one-on-one situation without sneak attacks, he could even charge at Lord Voldemort with his wand and exchange a few blows.

Of course... only two blows... at most ten if exaggerated.

As for Hermione's parents... unfortunately, this is the importance of information asymmetry. At least if Hermione's parents had time to subscribe to The Daily Prophet, they wouldn't have been so easily convinced by Hermione to differentiate between Sirius and Sirius, the escaped convict.

Hermione didn't know what lies she used to trick her logical, middle-class parents, but she and her companions arrived at the house Sirius bought on Privet Drive.

"I'm serious, I suddenly want to invent a magic spell that can only destroy the house's decoration without damaging the house itself... I'm getting a bit tired of demolishing these already..." Sirius swung a hammer and violently smashed a large dent into a stainless steel cabinet that didn't fit his aesthetic.

"Can't the Peeling Charm be used on this? I remember those spells are more idealistic, right?" Kayson complained while madly destroying everything that wasn't the main structure of the house and wasn't alive with the mechanical arm behind him.

"I... uh... I didn't think much of those household magic spells when I was in school, so I didn't learn them much," Sirius said, looking at the Little Wizardss. Ron met his gaze: "You should look at Hermione."

Hermione also sighed helplessly: "It's too late to use the Peeling Charm now. The wallpaper and furniture have been smashed into pieces... I can only use a Peeling Charm on each fragment."

"Could it be because it's not idealistic enough? In fact, those spells don't have a standard casting effect; what's called magic is actually more about doing whatever you want," Sirius explained.

"So you can't peel it using only magic without a spell?" Neville asked curiously.

"Uh... oranges, yes."

A simple demolition plan, with two adults and three Little Wizardss working at full throttle, took an entire morning. At noon, they ordered some fast food and ate. Perhaps they were so hungry, but ten minutes later, Kayson pulled out his phone and ordered a second time.

"By the way... did none of you eat before coming this morning?" Sirius asked.

Neville showed an embarrassed expression: "No way, we thought the renovation here was finished. We came purely to eat, and we even deliberately saved room..."

Ron nodded listlessly: "Yeah, I know what my mom's expression was when I left now."

Sirius unconsciously asked, "What expression?"

"Uh... pity, perhaps because of your unreliability?" Ron said.

"Hmm. My parents also had that expression," Neville said, then exchanged a look with Ron and high-fived in tacit agreement.

After Kayson had eaten and drunk his fill, he sat on a toolbox to rest for a while. Scaffolding and netting suddenly appeared in his hands, and he swayed out to completely enclose the entire house, making it airtight.

By the afternoon, the Little Wizards had all eaten, rested, and were operating at their peak. Kayson finally began the official work.

He first had Sirius use a Vanishing Spell to collect the trash in the room, then started with the floor. Square oak planks quickly covered the entire two-story floor of the house like building blocks, followed by the wallpaper...

"...What's wrong?" Sirius asked, seeing Kayson suddenly pause.

The latter shook his head. He couldn't very well say he'd forgotten to bring putty, and directly applying wallpaper would make it uneven. However, as a genius civil engineering senior, he almost instantly thought of a solution.

He first pulled out a huge, thin wooden board, roughly the same height and width as the entire wall when stood upright. Then he spread three sugarcane-pulp papers flat on the board and directly slapped the whole thing, paper and board, onto the wall.

"I'm a real fucking genius!" Kayson praised himself without reservation.

Then he proceeded to wallpaper the other walls in the same manner. As he left, he didn't forget to pull out a large pile of various colored paints and hand them to the Little Wizards: "Draw some patterns on the wallpaper, like floral designs, plants, or animals. You have to draw all of them, no being lazy."

Hermione subconsciously nodded, then she realized and found Sirius to ask about the wall area of the house...

"Oh... the wall area, it's probably... over a thousand square meters."
