After my little lie, the "I'm Jace Ramos's girlfriend" thrown at one of his fangirls (aka one of Mr. Anti-Girls' admirers), I head back to class, pretending to be calm… but truth is, I'm lost in thought.
At the end of classes, Jonas and Tami insist on walking home with me, just to pry the truth out. They want to know why I'm so quiet. Of course, I keep my mouth shut. But those two, stubborn as always, decide to tag along anyway. Naturally, I let them, without saying a word.
Except… problem. I forgot to take my medicine. Panic mode! So I toss them another little lie:
— Oh no! I forgot my science book in class!
And off I go. Ahhh, Hiyas, welcome to high school life… lies, lies, and more lies, lol. Luckily, they bought it.
I rush to the bathroom to take my medicine. After swallowing it, I'm in such a hurry that I don't even notice my bag wasn't closed properly—my stuff spills everywhere.
— Oh no, seriously?!
And then… miracle. It feels like an angel just knelt down beside me. A boy crouches to help me pick up my things. I slowly lift my head and…
It's HIM. The same boy who once apologized for Mr. Anti-Girls' behavior.
Kind, attentive, too cuuute… and hot. My heart skips a beat. Strange palpitations. OMG, what is this? First time this ever happens. Calm down, Hiyas!
— Th-th-thank you, I stammer.
— You're welcome, he says with a little smile that's way too adorable.
Then he adds:
— Be careful next time, okay?
I just nod, unable to say anything else.
Huhuhu… I think I'm falling for this guy.
— I'm Felix Smiths. And you?
— Uh… Hiyas. Hiyas Corazon.
— "Hiyas"? Cool name. Anyway, bye! See you, Hiyas.
And he leaves, just like that. But… he called me by my name! And he said it was coooool. Lord, I'm melting.
Later, Jonas drops me off at home and I head inside. What a day: lies, a plan for revenge, and… meeting Felix Smiths. This guy makes me feel sooooo good.
I go upstairs, take a nice shower, and still in my bathrobe I sigh:
— Ahhh, it feels SO good…
Then I find myself smiling like an idiot, thinking of Felix. Feliiiiiiiix Smiths…
At that moment, my phone rings. It's grandma!
— Hey, baby, how are you?
— I'm good, grandma, and you?
— I'm fine too. But I miss you so much, my kitten.
— I miss you too, grandma.
— So, tell me! School? New friends? A boyfriend, maybe?
— Grandmaaaa! Just friends.
We chat like besties (well, she's 50 years older, but whatever). After about half an hour of giggling, I hang up and head downstairs. I quickly put on shorts and a t-shirt before joining my parents in the living room. Big hugs, kisses, then we chat about everything: my classes, my friends… and, as always, my medicine. Yeah, even if I try to act normal, my illness is always there. I just have to live with it.
During dinner, Dad suddenly says:
— Next weekend, Raphael and his family are coming over for dinner.
What? Again? Mister Weirdo is back? No thanks, ugh.
Mom, of course, teases me:
— And we'll see Hiyas's fiancé. Lol.
— Moooom! He's not my fiancé! Dad said it was just some weird idea he and Mr. Ramos had!
— I know, I'm joking! Why are you so nervous?
Why am I nervous, huh? Maybe because, for the sake of revenge, I told a fangirl that I was dating Jace Ramos… If my parents find out… and if the whole school knows… oops.
We finish the evening in family mode—laughs, dinner, and all the fun family stuff.
The next morning, I drag my feet. First time I'm not excited about going to school. Lord, save me.
And then… a call from Tami.
— Hello?
— Mmmh.
— So, girl, is it true what everybody's saying? All over school, they say you're dating Jace Ramos!
Oh no. I knew it. How could I think the school wouldn't find out? We're talking about one of Mr. Anti-Girls' fangirls after all… ugh.
