Training wrapped up as the sun dipped low, painting the fields in hues of orange and violet that rivaled my soulflames.

Alectra wiped sweat from her brow and shot me that trademark big-sister grin—the one that said she was proud but wouldn't admit it without teasing first.

The crowd was still dispersing, cheers echoing behind us as students replayed our aerial spectacle in excited whispers.

Kent had already promised to spread "highly exaggerated" versions complete with spoon choreography.

"Enough showing off for one day, little star," Alectra declared, slinging an arm around my shoulders.

"You've earned a break. Let's get out of here before the instructors start taking notes on your footwork for their next thesis."

I raised an eyebrow, matching her pace as we headed toward the academy gates.

"A break? From you? That sounds suspicious. What's the catch?"

"No catch. Just a sibling date. Real one. Outside these walls, away from Dualflow explosions and moon-conquering rumors."
