Chapter 16 - [16] : Legendary Information

The morning sunlight streamed into the Daycare's courtyard as Kawaki's Daycare officially began another day of business. At this hour, traveling trainers were probably just crawling out of their sleeping bags, preparing breakfast for themselves and their Pokémon. With no customers in the shop, Kawaki leisurely prepared breakfast for himself and several Pokémon.

Bewear's berries and Pokémon cookies, Growlithe's Moomoo Milk... and Oddish's berries and treats.

As a Grass-type Pokémon, Oddish, like most Grass-types, didn't need to eat human food. They could grow just fine through daily photosynthesis, absorbing nutrients from the soil, and basking in moonlight. But for Pokémon belonging to trainers, that wasn't enough - only by getting proper nutrition could they grow stronger.

The Daycare was currently in a rebuilding phase, and Kawaki planned to use this time to brush up on his Pokémon breeding knowledge and herbal studies. Once he learned how to make Pokéblocks and mix herbal remedies, he'd be able to create customized Pokémon food based on each Pokémon's individual needs.

After breakfast, the Daycare officially opened for business.

The newly hatched Growlithe was curious about everything around it, running all over the house and exploring every corner of the Daycare. The nocturnal Oddish returned to the herb garden, found a shady spot, used Root, and buried its face in the soil to sleep.

Bewear followed behind Growlithe with a broom, looking exasperated as it cleaned up the plum blossom-shaped paw prints left on the floor.

Watching the active Pokémon, Kawaki smiled slightly, then turned to grab his little blackboard and added some information.

**[Daycare Main Services]**

**[1. Pokémon Boarding]**

**[2. Currently Available Move Tutoring: Baby-Doll Eyes, Tackle, Sleep Powder, Sword Dance.]**

**[3. Egg Hatching: Board two Pokémon of the same egg group but different genders simultaneously at the Daycare to breed superior offspring through egg production.]**

**[4. Rare Item Trading Available: common stone, Big Root.]**

**[5. Room and Board]**

"All done!"

After updating the information, Kawaki stepped outside and placed the blackboard in front of the Daycare.

Just then, he suddenly noticed a wild Taillow perched on the roof, staring down at him.

Taillow... Hoenn's regional bird!

The little swallow was pretty cute. Kawaki casually pulled out a treat and tossed it in front of Taillow.

The Taillow looked down, picked up the treat with its beak, and swallowed it.

Immediately, Taillow's face showed obvious satisfaction and joy.

And the next second, a line of text appeared before Kawaki's eyes.

**[Taillow's mood improved, happiness +40, received Taillow's gift: "Information Fragment 1".]**

**[Taillow shared Information Fragment 1 with you: In the northern part of the Hoenn region, there's a Pokémon that can transform into a human. If you can make Taillow happier, it might share more information about that Pokémon with you.]**

Kawaki: "...?"

What the heck?

A Pokémon that can transform into a human...

The Pokémon Taillow was talking about - could it be the legendary Pokémon Latias?

As far as Kawaki knew, in the entire Pokémon world, only Latias fit that description!

In the movie "Pokémon Heroes: The Guardian Gods of the Water Capital," the Latias that transformed into a human girl was beloved by audiences.

Kawaki stared at Taillow in disbelief.

A legendary Pokémon...

Taillow squinted its eyes, seemingly waiting for his response.

Kawaki turned and brought out more Pokémon treats from the Daycare, piling them in front of Taillow.

Taillow looked satisfied and continued eating.

After eating about half, Taillow finally stopped.

And Kawaki finally saw the second piece of information.

**[Taillow's mood improved, happiness +20, received Taillow's gift: "Information Fragment 2".]**

**[Taillow shared Information Fragment 2 with you: That Pokémon lives with its brother. They have no fixed home and spend their days soaring through the skies above the Hoenn region. If you can make Taillow happier, it might share more information with you.]**

Without hesitation, Kawaki turned and brought out even more treats from the Daycare.

But Taillow seemed full. It glanced at the treats with little interest, then looked at Kawaki, flapped its wings, turned around, and flew away.

"Hey...?!"

Kawaki stood there stunned.

Taillow didn't look back.

Kawaki was dumbfounded. Was this Taillow... dissing his food quality?

How rude!

Still, what Taillow mentioned in its information probably referred to the legendary Pokémon Latias and Latios, right?

Legendary Pokémon - they were incredibly rare and precious!

With Taillow gone, Kawaki had no way to learn more information. He could only turn back to the Daycare and start his business day.

However, this Taillow had given him a new idea.

Not just trainer Pokémon - making wild Pokémon happy would also earn their gifts?

Moves, items, abilities, information...

What a diverse range of rewards!

As the sun climbed higher and breakfast ended, the people of Fallarbor Town gradually began their daily work, and traveling trainers started their journeys.

Kawaki waited for customers in the Daycare while pondering future plans for the business.

About egg hatching...

If a customer only boarded one Pokémon, there'd be no way to breed eggs. In situations like that, having a Ditto at the Daycare would solve these problems.

Ditto could transform into any Pokémon, even humans. Using it to breed with customers' Pokémon could produce superior offspring.

But the problem was that wild Ditto were hard to encounter because they transformed into other Pokémon's appearances. Without careful observation, they were difficult to identify.

In that case, he'd have to purchase one from another Daycare.

While he was thinking, the Daycare door was pushed open.

A customer!

Kawaki and Bewear immediately perked up, but when they saw who it was, they froze in place.

"Officer Jenny?"

The little Growlithe sensed a stranger's presence and immediately rushed out, barking loudly at the visitor: "Woof - woof woof!"

"Growlithe, don't worry," Kawaki called out.

Growlithe immediately barked and ran back to him.

Officer Jenny looked at Growlithe, then at the completely renovated Daycare, and nodded quietly:

"It looks like you've already adapted to life here. I'm happy to see this."
